My favourite yum cha restaurant it is a rather large place but unless you get there early it is take a number time but well worth the wait the food is great.
I have been there for dinner several times the al la Carte menu is extensive with the Wasabi Beef being a standout for me service can be a bit rushed but not rude or bad the place just goes at quick pace.

Nice hugh place to have dinner, very nice Chinese food, looks like you can cater a wedding. Amazing dishes tonight, they give soup at the start and fruits at the end.

Me and my family have been coming to Iron Chef for years to celebrate many special occasions and each time, it has been excellent!

I have only been to Iron Chef for the ala carte dinner menu and I don’t think I’ve ever had a negative experience here. The waiters are always attentive and the dishes are great! My favourite dish that I always come back for would be the sautéed tofu with seafood and fish roe which is one of their specialties. I would also recommend the peking duck, mud crab and pipis.

Great service and delicious food, what more could I ask for? I’ll be recommending Iron Chef to everyone who’s looking for a good Chinese seafood restaurant. I will definitely be back and hopefully pop by to try their yum cha for lunch.

Huge Chinese seafood and yum cha restaurant - perfect for big group dinners. Great service and decent prices.

The wasabi beef and mud crab are my favourite dishes from this restaurant. Their yum cha isn't as good but is decent. Be prepared for massive lines during lunch time.

Common place for chinese elders to dine, have yumcha and hang out. Peking duck, the crabs and abalone does it all. Pretty much you get what you pay for.

This restaurant is located right in front of Cabramatta Station and parking is not really an issue around there during Weekends so when it comes to transport, it is quite convenient. This place can be a terrible long wait where you will get a ticket and can wait even up to 1 or so hours during special occasions like Mother's/Father's Day, and etc. It's best to come before 12pm peak hour lunch so that you can find a seat quickly and easily. Their food choices are just like any other Yum Cha places but they are quite tasty though. I reckon for a big restaurant like that, they should have more workers and more food trolleys strolling around rather than probably just 7 workers out of the hundreds of customers they are trying to serve, last time we had to wait almost 20 minutes for a lady that has the particular food that we wanted to come to our table with her trolley so that was something that they really lacked in.
Customer service wasn't too bad, I understand the frequent delays due to serving many other customers as well so I wasn't too fussed about that one.

I come here every Saturday or Sunday every week to eat Yum Cha. This place is one of the best in Sydney is is really cheap. Only around $15 per person! I especially love the many varieties of food, and you can order food if one type is not there. The portions are quite big also, however the customer service can be improved a little bit. Some staff are not nice and complain. The tofu dessert is also yummy with the ginger taste.

Coming back next week! :D

I booked a private room last weekend for a group of 16 people. It was the first time I had booked a private room and I did not know what to expect. Upon arrival, the restaurant was slowly filling up as I was shown to my room towards the back of the restaurant on the left. I was blown away at how beautifully decorated the room was, and with the added benefit of a bathroom inside so all of my guests did not have to leave the room. I had an additional few guests which brought the total to be about 20 people. Staff was accomodating and brought out extra chairs and cutlery. We had the same lovely waitress for the duration of our stay and she watched over us to ensure that we had quick and efficient service at all times. Food was great. The male manager came in a few times to ask how everything was going also. We ordered 2 x 1.5kg Lobster with shallots and ginger with noodles, 2 x steamed barramundi, steamed oysters with XO sauce and noodles, 2 x pipis with noodles, 2 x tofu with seafood, 2 x salt and pepper calamari, 2 x iron chef BBQ tasting platter, 2 x garlic king prawns, 2 x whole scallops with XO sauce, 2 x diced fillet steak with wasabi and 2 x iron chef fried rice. It was about 22 dishes altogether from what I can recall not including the complimentary soup and dessert. The total bill came to approximately $80 per person which is great value as there was also many drinks that was ordered. I could not recommend this place enough, I will definitely be returning.

Food was yummy but service needs improvement.

Iron Chef Chinese Seafood Restaurant offers yum cha during the day and dinner at night with their style of cooking taking influence from Cantonese, Vietnamese and Thai cuisines. It is located opposite Cabramatta station.

We came here for dinner and it was very busy as it was also 25% off on Tuesday nights. Luckily I booked early in the day to have avoided disappointment. We were seated next to the bar in front of the toilets. We had a table of 14 people and it was a bit squishy. Our waiter had to be waved down several times and asked several times including other wait staff for utensils, drinks and food. We had eaten half of the food we ordered, and had to wait for the other half of the menu to come out. Despite the wait, the food was yummy.

We ordered Peking duck with sang choy bow as the second dish, fillet steak with wasabi, 1.5 serves of king prawns coated with duck egg, green beans with pork mince in a Malaysian prawn paste, double cooked pork belly braised with preserved mustard vegetables, sweet and sour pork, steam soy and ginger barramundi, salt and pepper tofu and steamed rice. We also ordered a jug of water and lemonade. To start, they provided complimentary soup. It was so yummy, reminded me of my mums home made soup. It was sweet from the bones and had some leafy vegetables that were soft and yummy.

We realised that there was no barman working as it took so long to receive our drinks that the waiter had to get the drinks himself. Being such a busy night, you would think they would hire more staff and not cut staff.

The Peking duck was well cooked, brown and crispy. It was well seasoned and when combined with the duck pancake, shallot, cucumber and hoisin sauce it was yummy. Very moreish with the combination of thr sweet and salty flavours. The pancake and duck meat was soft and vegetables were fresh. To save time, they placed all made up duck pancakes on a plate for everyone to self serve, normally it is handed to each person. The sang choy bow was also delicious. The lettuce cup was fresh, it was also nicely trimmed. There was a generous amount of filling of duck meat, bamboo shoots, onions, and shallots. It was very fresh and tasty. A bit messy to eat but yummy otherwise.

The fillet steak with wasabi had a bit too much wasabi for my liking that I could barely taste anything but wasabi. I already don't like wasabi as it is so every mouthful was a shock to the senses. It was soft otherwise. The dish came with mushrooms which were also well cooked.

The sweet and sour pork was yummy. The pork was lightly battered, crispy and goes well with the capsicum and pineapple.

The king prawns coated with duck egg was another yummy dish. It was sufficiently coated in the yummy salty and sweet duck egg. Prawns were juicy and plump but being 1.5 servings, I was hoping for more prawns. It probably needed some garnish as the dish looked boring.

The salt and pepper tofu were golden, crispy pillows of silky tofu. It was a yummy combination of sweet, salty and only spicy if you ate the chilli. It had a slightly thicker batter than what I'm use to but that didn't make a difference, still a good dish.

The double cooked pork belly braised with preserved mustard vegetables came in a clay pot sitting on top of a bed of iceberg lettuce and the preserved mustard vegetables. This dish was okay, the meat was relatively soft but I prefer the way my parents make it. The lettuce was soft but still maintained it's crunch. It was sweet and salty.

The barramundi fish was nice but shame that it came out so late, this is one of the few dishes that came out second half as most of us were already full and couldn't enjoy it as much. The meat however was soft and the flavours were nice.

The green beans with pork mince in a Malaysian prawn paste looked soft but was cooked just right, still maintaining some crunch in the beans. It was sweet, salty and had a hint of chilli. It didn't taste fishy from the prawn paste.

Being a big table, we would go through a small pot of rice easily but because we were only given one pot, we had to ask someone to fill it up a couple of times. You would think they would give two if they were so short staffed. We also had empty plates sitting on our table for some time as there was no one available to clear it. When we asked for something, we were generally told to ask our server who was already run off his feet and missing in action (MIA). When the plates were finally cleared, we were given complimentary red bean sweet soup and what looked and tasted like mango glutinous cakes. Both were a nice end to the meal. The red bean soup was yummy and it had lotus seeds in it, it was soft but still held it's shape which I personally prefer. The mango cake was soft and suttle in flavour but was good. We polished up the desserts quite quickly.

Verdict: Definitely be back again. Yum cha is also nice here but be prepared for a long wait if you go after 12MD on a weekend. It's better to go in a group to experience a variety of their dishes. Service and customer service needs improvement otherwise the food is worth coming here for.

Had dinner here on a Tuesday night, was really busy so dishes took a little longer but it was worth it because the food was good!
What I loved the most and what gives it 5/5 would definitely be the customer service, especially from waitress Patty, Jenny and the manager they followed up on everything and one of the dishes was a bit too salty for my family and I, but they changed it happily explaining they want to see us happy when we're eating here. Also, price was reasonable.
I would definitely come back here, and would recommend to anyone who wants good chinese food in the area!

The best yum cha I have ever been so far! All the yum cha dim sum dishes were hot and freshly made! (Unlike some other place which taste like frozen food). We ate so many that we were so full but still ordered for takeaway ❤️ and also cheap price too!!! And they didn't charge for the sauce which is another plus point 🙌 super recommend the Chao Que dish (photo) and I will definitely comeback for the food!

We had an absolute feast here for my mom's birthday! Highlights have got to be the pippies in XO sauce with crunchy vermicelli noodles, peking duck pancakes & the honey and black pepper pork ribs!! Everything else was decent. You will notice market prices for seafood here is actually comparatively affordable - some of the best prices around. Unfortunately service was rude which started off the night with bad vibes

The Top Line: Price and food here is really reasonable and decent quality! Their yum cha is also pretty good. This is one of my to-go places for family yum cha and dinners. They have this really adhoc carpark out the back and its unmarked – never ceases to amaze me how orderly it always seems to be though.

One of our favorite places for yum cha. Constantly in our top three although the position changes from time to time.

Food: Yum Cha here is good, and has plenty of selections & choices.

food quality isn't the best compared to other Yum Cha spots, as there chicken feet and dumplings are mostly over steamed whenever we get those dishes.

*Mango pancake is a must!

*is connected to a t.a.b. - so it is always loud at reception area.

Service: is good, staff are very attentive and helpful, although the restaurant is always be busy and staff may sometimes forget to put our special request for a dish through.

Price: 4 people = $160

Do: any of the live seafood. Great prices and slightly less than market price. The crab was good, the lobster even better.

Don't: just eat dinner. The brunch yum cha is pretty good too. There's better on the other side of the bridge like Vinh Phat but this is pretty nice.

Tip: park at the rear. Plenty of space instead of parking at the car park which charges.

This is our go to place for dinners when family is in town. It has a nice balance of good customer service, great tasting food and with their weekday specials... the price isnt too bad as well.

My recommendation is their fried tofu... its super silky smooth. I also love their crab and pigeon as well. Both always well prepared. To finish off try their complimentary cookies... hahaha theres just something so simple about them that I always save room to demolish off a plate.

For yumcha.. get there early.. it's literally like winning the lottery when your number gets called out because its always so busy there. Personally the other side of Cabramtta offers food just as good without the wait.

The area has a parking lot out back or theres plenty of street parking.. but as usual.. Cabramatta is busy nearly all the time...

.... Peking Duck pancake. There’s nothing wrong with that dish here, but there’s nothing wrong with cereal either. So, if you’re the type of person that eats cereal for dinner, be my guest. Otherwise, don’t embarrass yourself. Yum cha is a sacred tradition and here at Iron Chef, they uphold that tradition just seriously enough to have glum service. While they might not be as adventurous as The Eight, they have been at least consistent for the last year or so. Now that you’re done, scream out “mai dahn!” and scram! There’s others who want what you had too y’know.

In many Chinese restaurants, the first course that comes, regardless of what you actually order, is a starter soup that has several variations, almost always savoury. In mandarin it’s generally described as a soup that’s made with the bones of chicken or lamb, while in Cantonese it’s described as lei tong. In any case, it’s usually a subtly salty soup with a hint of meatiness that primes the palate for what’s to come.

Enjoyed my yum cha lunch. My first experience at Iron Chef and I was pleased I did not receive the negative experience others on Urbanspoon complained about. Some facts:
- dined on an ordinary Sunday at 1.30pm for yum cha
- two of us, no prior reservation made
- total bill $58 for 9 dishes (no charge for tea as advertised)
- servingware on table
- teapot arrived 5 minutes later after sitting
- the staff uniforms are classy and professional
- the restaurant is quite modern inside and not dirty (including the toilets relative to the standards of other Chinese restaurants)
The carts came around quickly and one of the trolley pushers beckoned her colleagues to stop at our table so we were fed
Food is freshly made (you can see the kitchen through clear glass) and generous portions
Variety was plenty (we prefer steamed selection over the deep fried). One of the trolley pushers insisted we take something in her cart but we weren't keen and chose two of something else she had, she was fine with that. Quite friendly and jovial.
On recommendation of others, the mango pancake is delicious and so is the red bean pastry.
If there was just one minor irritation, it was asking for a refill of hot chilli sauce (all Chinese restaurants don't give a big ramaken when I prefer that). But I was not rudely treated, and on request staff are very obliging.

Some day we will make a return visit (we aren't local but the train station across the road is so convenient). Yum cha is not such a healthy eating choice, high in calories!

Good for dinner, not good for yumcha. One of the more expensive restaurants in Cabramatta, you'd expect the service and food to be top quality.
THE GOOD: I had my birthday here as well as dinner with the inlaws and both times the service was exquisite. I have not encountered any rude staff as of yet. I wouldn't exactly describe them as all smiling and friendly but I don't expect all that. The food is very delicious and worth the cost in quality and quantity. I liked the duck pancakes but they were fatty, and I also liked the tofu. They DO NOT use fresh prawns in their fried rice but nowadays, seldom restaurants do. They have a beautiful interior design for a Cabramatta restaurant and their plates are usually always clean. Their toilets are nice too! haha. This is a great place to check out when youre in town or if you want to bring a date to somewhere local.
THE BAD: The yumcha is not that good. It is packed to the rafters during weekend yumcha and you have to wait on the outside where the pokies are for a while until they call your ticket. When you get in you are ushered to youre table (sometimes while theyre sill laying out the cloth) and everything feels just rushed (understandable but I don't like it). Because it is quite a big restaurant floor, the trolleys don't pass you by and when they do, the food has all been taken. It is extremely noisy so you have to be really close to someone to be able to hear what theyre saying. Sometimes when you call the trolley lady, they dont hear you. The waiters run around getting people's orders and so if you ask them for something specific, it would take a while but they're getting it! The selection and variety during yumcha doesn't compare to that of Vinh phat (accoss the other side of the rail line). But it isn't at all quite bad, I enjoy it.
I would come back again and often I do come back as it is a restaurant my family frequents. The yum cha is cheap (there are some cheaper).

Incredible duck, large portions, good value!. We went for yumcha and ordered the duck, which cost $58 for 12 traditional beijing-style wraps + 6 lettuce cups that they used the leftover duck for. Amazing crispy skin, nice layer of fat, juicy meat, yummy hoisin sauce. Probably one of the best ducks I've ever had!

Otherwise, the dim sum portions are quite large -- the prawns and fillings were all quite generous, and overall it was a great dining experience.

Favourite Chinese Restaurant. My family frequently drives 30min to eat here. Menu prices are very cheap for a fancy restaurant, quality is always good and you don't need to worry about cleanliness or whether seafood they serve is actually live. Complimentary soup is really hot and nice (but I think it's better on the non-promotions nights). Roast chicken is a unique dish which they do really well, usually freshly hot and moist with crispy skin. Abalone, mushroom and sea cucumber pot is the other must try. They also do a great peking duck special on Wed nights I think, $29.95 for whole duck or $19.95 for half duck 2 ways I think.

Returning to restaurants has also meant returning to meals with friends. The resurrection of my yum cha club saw us visit Cabramatta to dine at the famous Vinh Phat. Turns out we weren’t the only group keen to catch up with friends over dumping. Spying a three-deep queue snaking around the whole block, we had a last minute change of plans and slid straight into a table at Iron Chef. Located on the wrong side of the tracks where parking is slightly easier, this restaurant cuts deep into the block. On the Sunday morning I dined, it was full but not to bursting with plentiful circulating trolleys. Deep-fried baby abalone presented on the shell under fresh chilli and herbs was a yum cha highlight for me. We also worked our way through the usual favourites too: translucent har gow; chewy ham sui gok; and tasty pork and prawn siu mai. Gossamer-thin cheung fun (steamed rice noodles) wrapped around barbequed pork were enjoyable eats, as was a sticky plate of the pork itself. Rich barbequed duck was another winner. We offset the intensity with steamed greens, water chestnut cake and funky radish cake. Dining with a group of five eating more dishes than I’ve talked about saw us leaving too full with our wallets just $34 lighter apiece.

Came here to celebrate an 80th birthday banquet style. Great seafood which shouldn't come as a surprise. My favourite is the mixed seafood roll, kind of like a seafood sausage roll without pastry but with while bits of seafood and deep fried - it's a guilty pleasure of mine. Surprising dish is the stir fried beef and mushrooms which has a perfectly savoury flavour and tender beef cubes. The dishes available can be found in other similar style restaurants but you can rest assured the quality you get is satisfying.
