We really loved Bagus during our stay at Cairns, we went back there every second day during the week. This is some of the best Indonesian food outside of Indonesia.
The owners of the restaurant bring a smile to your face with amazing hospitality and the setting of the restaurant reminded me of Indonesia.
Definitely recommend the food especially the rendang sapi!

Came here at the start of last year and been back a few times when coming up to cairns from Melbourne. Delicious food and well worth it. It's worth the walk from the main center of cairns to eat here. Open for lunch and dinner. Will always come back when I'm up here.

The food was very good. Excellent!
I had vegetable Mie Goreng with chicken sate sticks.
Only issue was the loud fans going in the background. Not really needed on a day like today. Perhaps later on when it heats up 😬

100% authentic indonesian foood, I’ll definitely be back again. Very funny and lovely staffs, love the sambal. It definitely hits the spot, 10/10 recommend to order homemade ice tea with lemon which is sooo good and refreshing. It’s not in the menu but you can let them know. Yummmy food and ambience 100% definitely Indonesian vibes

Food is delicious! We always order the fried chicken with rice, spinach & small sides with satay chicken with 3x extra satay sauces! 😂😂

Simply amazing - simple food but amazing. Nasi goreng was delicious. Sate is unlike any other I've ever had - in a fabulous way! Beef rendang was great. Serving sizes aren't huge but leave you very satisfied. Lovely spot for a casual lunch or dinner, or take away. I see that they also do western food but when the Indonesian selection is so fantastic why settle for another sandwich or burger!

Owned by the very nice couple Sri and Safwan, this hidden secret has a great variety of food options, in my week away in Cairns, I enjoyed a great beef rendang for lunch (5 stars) and many yummy breakfast burritos, if you are looking for a place quieter then the nearby Muddy's Cafe this place is your best option

The Bagus Cafe is an awesome and authentic Indonesian street food cafe in Cairns. Small, not many tables all crammed together adds to the authenticity. However the food is what draws crowds. Cheap, fast and full of flavour this place is now my favourite eating spot in Cairns (second is the Bayleaf Indonesian restaurant. See the theme? Haha).

Makanan authentic yang dihidangi oleh orang Indonesia. Saya dan kawan kami ordered nasi goreng dengan 2 stick satay dan thoroughly enjoyed perisa nasi goreng yang dihidangi bersama dengan saiz makanan.
Lokasi tempat ini amat konvenien sebab ia terletak hanya disebelah Caravella Backpackers (tempat kami menginap semasa di Cairns). Yang patut disebut, semua makanan yang dijual and dihidangi di restoran adalah makanan halal.
