I've eaten here twice so far and the chicken has been succulent and chips crunchy! My favourite is the open Gatsby with slaw and garlic sauce. I think the bad reviews are to people not liking the Chinese new owners. The food is great!
Winner winner chicken dinner. Some of the best chicken in Melbourne by far. Not like your average charcoal chicken, Gatsby's offer fresh, tender and well priced meals. I travel 20 mins weekly to eat this chicken. Well done guys, keep it up

I don't normally find myself over the east side of Melbourne, but I just so happened to be helping a friends mum move house, and she just happened to be moving east side.
So there I was, east side, starving, and no phone data to look for food places nearby.
My friend and I pulled over and decided to just go for a walk until we saw something that catches our fancy.
Then we saw it. Gastby's Chicken.
From the outside it didn't look like much, but I'd had my fill of beef last night at B-East, so I was down to get some chiggin into my diet.
Ehh, I'll just cut to the chase...
This place was AMAZING!
I got their signature "Gatsby Roll" and it was just fantastic!
GATSBY ROLL: wholemeal (or white) crusty bread roll, some sort of super delicious green pesto/sauce, hot seasoned chips, chicken piled high, salads (I got potato salad and coleslaw), and topped with a delicious creamy sauce (that I have since forgotten the name of).
This was a feast for kings, and for $10.95, that's pretty great.
The service was also top notch. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They helped create a positive atmosphere in which the flavours of their cuisine could thrive. I'm Srs.
All in all, it was a great experience.
