I have never had a bad experience. Have tried a huge range of their (extensive) menu, and have never had a bad dish. The service is fast, efficient and professional. There's a reason they had to get bigger premises.
We love eating here when we visit Canberra. The duck is especially good, and the pepper fish clay pot is a new fave. Seafood steamboat was delicious too!!
Good food still available during the limited shut-down
Best neighborhood restaurant I've found in Canberra, and it's the genuine article in terms of Vietnamese cooking. Everything is fresh, tasty and reasonably-priced, down to the jellyfish salad! It pretty much defines good "cheap and cheerful".
Never had the pho, but their other Vietnamese dishes are great (love the curry prawns). The fresh lemon soda delicious.
Stay from the Chinese-style dishes - I'm sure they're only there to cater to more conservative Canberra tastes (locals can be very unadventurous with their food - the most notable Sri Lankan place had to have chicken schnitty on their menu!)
This was my first experience eating out in Canberra when I first moved here a decade ago, and Sue's efficient and warm welcome made me feel at home in a lonely town. She always has a special greeting if I see her bustling through the restaurant - us regulars are obviously valued.
The place is always full, and the service is efficient, but they never make you feel like they're throwing you out the door, unlike one or two other similarly busy establishments in Dickson.
I always love pho and have high expectations for it. This is one of the best Pho I had and the broth is good. Would come back to eat it again.
Pretty amazing Pho - absolutely loved it! Very generous servings and just very fresh. The Vermicelli salad also looks amazing. My friend polished it off without complaining. Highly recommended!
Pork chops with rice is awesome!!However salad is just so so as it is a little bit sweet.I went there for dinner and the restaurant was so popular crowded with locals.Nice atmosphere and great Vietnamese food.$22 pp
Perfect place for a get together with friends, even though the place was really busy when we went there for a dinner, but the staff made sure that we received great service. The food offered is great for it's price. If you are planning a dinner over there, I would definitely recommend booking a table beforehand, rather than walking in at the last moment.
Best Pho in Canberra! Drove all the way from south side to try this place out and it was far from a disappointment. The staff were super friendly and my meal was outstanding. Ordered the pho and it came with a generous serving of fresh beansprouts, basil and chilli. The pho was delicious, big serving and had authentic flavours. Will definitely be back soon!
I go here often, great atmosphere and service. Love the Vietnamese pancake (only available lunchtimes) and spring roll noodle salad, good prices and good food!
Just had the tastiest meal here.
We had salted squid, Pho, caramelised pork and prawns, garlic chicken wings, sate chicken.
Wonderful! Especially the pork and prawns and the chicken wings. Lovely friendly service.
This place was a fantastic find! The pho was fantastic, we also had the mixed entrees and the fish cakes were divine, sesame toast also a hit. Our drinks were also delicious, strawberry and PPQ fruit shakes, and really good roast duck. Bit of a wait to order but they were flat out when we went. Highly recommend
Pho Phu Quoc really does have Canberra’s best Vietnamese food. And it’s such great value. Rice is $2 per person, corkage $6 per bottle, there’s a 25% discount for Canberra Entertainment Card holders and serve sizes are large and plenty for two people. One of the best dishes is the Bird’s Nest Seafood $18.90 (also good with chicken $16.90 and I’m sure Vegetarian style $13.90).
There are a few really great Vietnamese experiences about and this is definitely one of them. In Canberra fairly often and this place is a real find. Book ahead might save a bit of time waiting but. Well worth the ratings given.
I come here with my girlfriend every couple weeks at the very least. It's hard to go past the Pho it is so excellent, but the coconut curry and campfire beef is a great choice to. The service is fast, friendly and there is a beautiful family history behind the ownership to top it all off. Favourite Canberra resturant :)
Bustling, popular and at times chaotic Vietnamese restaurant. The sizzling beef was succulent and covered in a rich and flavorsome sweet sauce The prawns with cashews were excellent too. Generous portion sizes.
I must give it to this place: best combination pho I've had in Canberra thus far. The portions here are a really good value. The flavors are fantastic. I reached over to nab a few bites off my mates plates and they were all pretty good. Highly recommended! Especially in a cold Canberra evening.

I had to write one final post for Pho Phu Quoc. After eating Vietnamese food for the past 15 years (two Vietnamese girlfriends, their parents, going to Vietnam, living off Victoria Street, eating in Springvale, watching Luke Nguyen and owning all his cookbooks...), the homestyle excellent cooking of Pho Phu Quoc always made me happy.
One of my favourite spot for pho and they do serve the best roasted quail in canberra! Dining environment is pleasant and service is very prompted!
Slightly above than average Vietnamese food with swift service. It's considered one of the better Vietnamese restaurants that one can find in Canberra. But if you're travelling interstate or have tasted authentic Vietnamese cuisine, I guess this place will only satisfy your cravings temporarily.
Good food and speedy service. Although they can be a bit generous with the aircon especially if it is 38°C outside and the dinning area is huge!!
Very traditional Vietnamese pho taste place. Love the rare beef soup, beef is very tender, with the delicious soup. Good service with quick response on any client request, worth to try if you love Pho!
A Canberra favourite for Vietnamese, Pho Quoc has outgrown it’s original home and moved around the corner to 5 Badham St, Dickson (where El Dorado Steakhouse used to be). Some lovely huge lanterns from Hoi An, are a lovely feature and it’s good to have the extra tables for booking but it still gets quite noisy.
Love, love, love this place. I eat here once a week... at least! Used to always get there Special Beef Noodle Soup but decided to branch out and try other stuff which has made it even harder for me to order since everything is so tasty. The staff are super friendly and I love how casual and chilled the vibe is there. One of my favourite restaurants for sure!
I enjoyed the flaming lamb and the Vietnamese coffee. This place is unique and definitely worth a visit.FYI: The name "Phu Quoc" is take from a tropical island located in Vietnam which is becoming the next hot tropical island destination in Asia. See: phuquocislandguide.com
Love Pho Phu Quoc, outstanding Vietnamese restaurant. All the food I have had there has been great. From the chicken and sweet corn soup all the way to the chicken curry with coconut. Haven't had a bad dish from there yet. Now that they've changed the menu it's even better. Love love love this place
Pho Quoc just to be one of Canberra’s very best eateries. It’s no wonder it gets so busy. In fact they are moving to larger premises around the corner in June. Corkage is cheap at $1.10 per person and serve sizes are truly generous. They spring rolls really are very good (4 for $5.90)
My daughter and I had Crispy Chicken Wings with garlic for starter and Beef Pho. Absolutely delicious. The broth was flavourful hot and not at all oily, thin slices of excellent beef, not at all chewy. The chicken wings had great flavour. Service was quick and friendly. Lose half a point for decor and room temp was a bit cold in the middle of winter.
Love this restaurant! Go here all the time and the food is always fresh and staff are so lovely. The salt and pepper clay pot fish is the best fish I've ever eaten!
Unique flavours in a cosy setting. A great little restaurant was found in Pho Phu Quoc. We had the Flaming Lamb, Combination Seafood rice noodle dish and Vietnamese Ice Coffee.
Flaming lamb was indeed an interesting dish from the start as the waitress appeared with the dish and a lighter! The bowl of braised lamb with vegetables, in what I was told was a combination of hoisin and soy sauce, was placed on a metal dish containing flammable liquid that was set on fire by the waitress. I took a quick bite of the lamb at the start (prior to setting it on fire) and noticed that the smoky and "flame-flavour" developed gradually - a very pleasant and not over-powering smokiness added a unique depth of flavour. Together with the preserved slivers of ginger, shallots and capsicum running through delivered quite an interesting experience. My only comment (not complaint) was that the hoisin sauce was at times quite over powering especially as it reduced with time (due to the heat from the flames).
My wife ordered the Vietnamese iced coffee and was disappointed as it wasn't in the form of a pot of extra-extra strong black coffee served with a glass of ice and condensed milk separately.
Service was prompt and efficient, atmosphere was cosy with warm yellow lights, adequate spacing between tables. We were seated promptly on a busy Sunday night without a reservation. Dishes are well-priced and servings are satisfactory. Meals are quite individual and unique from what I've seen, thus prompting me to go back again and again to try new things.
Overall, a definite winner and a stand-out in Dickson and elsewhere too. My new regular, and possibly a favourite.
Great for vegetarians and pho lovers alike! The owner understands that vegan = vegan, and for meat eaters the pho is the best in town
Food is amazing. We are from Melbourne and we eat at a lot of different Vietnamese restaurants and this this place beats them all. Definitely give it a go
Come here often for Pho(beef rice noodle soup). Authentic in taste (not quite Cabramatta quality) but damn good for a weekly visit. Lunch time they have Banh Xeo which is big and reasonably priced, bit westernized but the taste is there. Decor is so tacky that it becoming a landmark a place I take interstate visitor to see to believe.
Hearts. I love this place so much! The food is always yummy and the service is always super-friendly!
Will go again!! nice food!. I went there after the searching on Urbanspoon
their beef PHO is perfect!! we have re-ordered it again and again
we tried honey chicken and vietnamese spring roll, they are nice as well
reasonable price!!!
drink--> 3color one is good~~~
services is fast and nice people~
(just one little thing not doing well is the broken rice)
Having been to Vietnam, this hits as close as you can get to authentic Vietnamese in Canberra. Great pho, stuffed chicken and iced coffee!
Bliss. Possibly the most amazing Vietnamese food, definitely the best I have ever had. Every dish takes you to Vietnam with their delicious use of flavours.
I personally recommend either a soup dish or the seasonal vegetables in garlic. Pure bliss. 10/10
Rare beef pho was pretty good. Beef & veggies and spring rolls OK. Fast service, value for money OK. Decor simple, standard cheap Asian restaurant kit. Nothing to complain about, nothing to rave about.
Delish!. This place is ORSM! Always packed, reasonably priced (especially for Canberra), fresh and tasty dishes. Highly recommended.
Great Pho. Great pho... lovely fresh spring rolls too.
However the other dishes on the menu I've tried haven't been as enjoyable, so now I just stick with the pho + spring rolls when I come here.

Pho Phu Quoc (6 Cape St, Dickson (02) 6249 6662 ) is one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants here in Canberra. It's unpretentious, simple and focuses mainly on serving great food to those who visit. I can't believe that i have not blogged about it although i've been there on countless occasions (i guess they were all impromptu, thus no camera in hand). On my last visit, i was pleased to see that they've done a few upgrades to the restaurant by adding more decorations with a Vietnamese flare to its walls. We started our meal with a Vietnamese Three Colour Drink which was nice and refreshing. It is made with herbal jelly, red bean, green jelly strips, red jelly strips, ice and coconut milk and my favorite part? The green jelly strips. As entree, we decided to get a Vietnamese Beef Salad to share. The beef salad was nice and tasty, although a bit hot for me (yeah, i can't take spicy food). The beef was tender and the tomatoes were surprisingly sweet which altogether bleanded well with t
