Review Bella Vista Restaurant - Canberra

I’ve visited this restaurant quite a few times and have always enjoyed my visits. Great location, friendly staff and nice food with reasonable portion size. The seafood marinara risotto was delicious and seafood was fresh and nicely cooked. Chicken and mushroom pasta was also tasty. I’ll definitely visit again!

For all Italian food lovers one of the finest and authentic place to explore is "Bella Vista" based in Emu Bank, Belco. Right from their entree to mains till desserts you have platora of scrumptious food options..I can bet it wont leave you disappointed. I felt bit on expensive side..but trust me it was worthit🤩 it will make your special occasion more special.. plus large variety of vines to go with your food. In frame: Gamberi - Prawns delicacy for entrees, for mains we ordered Pollo al funghi and lamb meat served with beans and mash patato.. mama mia🥰 it was drooling 🤤 Thank You Team Bella Vista for amazing service ❤️ P.S - they are always booked specially on Friday and weekends so suggest a prior booking for a table👍🏻

Hi all, We had a mid week lunch catchup for SIX people. We settled on just garlic bread and mains that day off their lunch menu. The bread was actually a garlic pizza and delicious. Four of the troops had veal options with a couple adding the prawns and choosing various sauces. I actually had the sirloin (requested rare) and the last person had the risotto. My steak was perfectly cooked and accompanied by a variety of veggies. My meal was seriously good. We ordered wine as well as a BYO. Summary... service great, ambience, prices were good and view of lake was great. Everyone enjoyed their meals and will return. A great lunch enjoyed by all !!!

Love going to Bella Vista Restaurant - and not just because we got engaged there. The staff are lovely, the food is divine, and I always end up taking leftovers home due to ordering more than I can finish. Restaurant is wheelchair accessible and has lovely views of Lake Gininderra.

We got the $55 banquet which was amazing. However when it came to the main and desert it was widely agreed that the steak was much better than the chicken which was very dry and really could have used a sauce. The deserts no one was a fan of the panacotta and we all would have preferred the perfitarolls.

Our family celebrated a few birthdays at this restaurant recently and it was a most enjoyable evening. The deserts were divine - the tiramisu was possibly the best I have ever had - at least the best I can remember❣️Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. The wagyu beef was good but not marbled like true wagyu. The John Dory ‘fish of the day’ was ‘melt in the mouth delicious! Looking forward to returning 4.5 ⭐️ from me!😊

Quickly becoming my new favourite Italian. Great food, bizarrely slow wait service though. It's like the waitresses are afraid to approach new customers. We don't bite, I promise!

The food was excellent. The main was beautiful but huge. We celebrated our 53rd wedding anniversary there 3 years ago so to come back for this anniversary evoked warm and fuzzy feelings of that night.. then it was a gathering of extended family and friends from near and far. What a wonderful night made perfect by the food that was served and the service provided by the staff both before and during the event. Last Tuesday was just the two of us. the food and service equal to 3 years ago. definitely recommend Bella Vista.. it is a 5 star restaurant.

I ordered garlic focaccia and a garlic pizza arrived. I ordered seafood marinara. It was as though seafood was stir fried on a dirty hot plate - even the pasta was dark - not fresh looking. I’ve been here before and hoped things had changed. Not so! Will not be going back.

My partner and I thoroughly enjoy our evening with great food and excellent service. We would strongly recommend anyone in the area gives this place a go, especially if you are looking for an intimate environment.

I have never had such a bad experience at any restaurant in my life! Being new to Australia our local friends raved about how great this place is. But what we got last night was just atrocious. Our waiter literally slammed our drinks so hard onto our table that it actually spilled onto my partner and when asked if he had an issue, his reply was even worse.

Great restaurant, been eating here for years. Spaghetti marinara is always a top notch dish. So excited you can now order Bella vista through deliveroo. Was fantastic to have my favourite meal delivered after a long work week.

Been many times and always have been served great food! Never a let down. Great steak, pasta and bruschetta and good selection of wines ��

Celebrating Cherril's birthday with our friends, we were overwhelmed by the service, food and private area we were seated. The decanting of a 1975 vintage port was one of the many highlights of our fantastic evening.

Food and service was great but the place was cold and their dining chairs very uncomfortable take a pillow with you. There is nothing worse than being so uncomfortable in a restaurant, I got cramps and had to shift all the time not enjoyable at all!

I've eaten Italian and I've Italian. But tonight I ate Italian. Simply out of this world. Up the 4.3 rating to a 5. Well worth the drive from Sydney to eat there.

Will never be back. The supervisor was rude and arrogant. Refused to serve dessert. We we told we needed to leave ASAP. The owner should train the staff

OK, but certainly not great. Italian bread and olive oil came with processed table salt in a shaker. Staff were polite, but some under-trained. Couldn't get a glass of Italian wine. Can't be sure, but the tortellini was suspiciously uniform and like Latina. The seafood chowder was a special, but was gravy-like and too salty. On the positive, the outlook was excellent and it was full. Just don't expect Lygon St or homemade pasta.

Today we get to visit an old food haunt, Bella Vista Italian Restaurant, which for me has a lot of memories. My first apartment was just up the road. Hubby and I had many a romantic dinner here. I even celebrated here when I finished my Science degree. I like to mark major occasions with eating. A good Italian restaurant is a beautiful thing and I think it is telling that it has been kicking around for so long. I must admit it had been years since I visited so I was pretty excited to revisit it for my friend Gioia’s bday.

Really enjoyed our beautiful meal, steak cooked just to hubbies liking my pasta very tasty. Staff very pleasant. Meal served reasonably quickly even though restaurant was almost fully booked.

I've been to Bella Vista 3 or 4 times now and the food always tastes really good. <br/>If you're looking for a nice place to dine on Emu Bank, then Bella Vista is definitely up there as one of my top choices. <br/><br/>When you walk into the restaurant, the interior is comfortable and relaxed. It's not ultra modern, but keep in mind Bella Vista has stood the test of time and has been operating for over twenty years. On weekends, it's very busy and it helps to make a booking in advance. Because it's so busy, the food can take quite a long time to arrive and waiters may not be as attentive. I suggest going here on a weekday - less traffic and a more enjoyable experience. <br/><br/>The portion size of most of the meals is quite large, and can be shared between two. I ordered an entree sized lamb salad today, and it was quite enough for a (light) main meal. Delicious, as always! I also liked the mixed platter. They have a good variety of seafood dishes, but I haven't ordered seafood at BV. They used to do a really good bruschetta but I can't find it on their current menu.<br/><br/>Desserts are quite good/ reasonable. Tiramisu was just ok. Esp as you can just go to woolies and get a big box of tiramisu for $7, or $5.50 if you're lucky. <br/><br/>A good place to treat your aunt for a birthday dinner. Every Canberran must try BV at least once.

Even though it was a full house, the waiting staff were exceptional (except for one girl who didn't seem to want to be there). The food was sensational and all delivered in very good time especially considering how busy the restaurant was. The overall dining experience was well worth the money. If you're going to eat at Bella Vista, make sure you have dessert! Four different desserts at our table and each one an absolute winner. Would go back just for coffee and dessert in a heart beat.

Nice spot and bar one snobby male waiter who really didn't want to be there the service was good.<br/>Mains were not up to the pricing and my medium rare arrived well over. No "how is or was your meal" and mr snob didn't seem to give a rats when told. Overall disapointing and not worth the dollars.

Fish at Bella Vista Belconnen. I have forgotten the menu item but the meal was utterly memorable - it was so appalling that I would not go back if they replaced the ugly view of the car park with an Andes mountain view. The fish was tough to the point that I needed a steak knife to cut through it - the vegetables were a perfunctory attempt at providing some balance in the meal. A friend also had a fish meal - hers was undercooked virtually inedible. And to think there was just a short walk to Macca's.

A pleasant lake view and good service. Food attractive and delicious but prices similar to fine dining restaurants without quite the same atmosphere.

Great food, generous portions, friendly service and a good price. I've always left satisfied no matter what I've ordered. I wish all restaurants in Canberra were like this.

Value, no-fuss dining. This is a respectable choice for suburban Belconnen.<br/><br/>It isn't going to win any chef's hats any time soon, but the service is very friendly and attentive, and the food comes in generous portions with no fuss, no bother, and no waiting around. <br/><br/>Leaving at the end of the evening, as the kids spilling out of the nightclub next door stand spewing and screaming in the car park, can be a bit of a gauntlet, but with a full belly it's not too hard to bear. I'm happy.

Serve sizes of the pastas are very generous, and it’s possible to take any extra left, with you. Desserts are beautifully presented and very generously sized, ideal for sharing between two.

Other factors of Bella Vista seem to be much less consistent. Ive visited three times in the past 6 months, so this blog will be a bit of a mix and match of the three occasions. The first visit the food was exquisite and the service was average, the second visit the food was mediocre but the service was above and beyond and on the third visit the food again was great but service was almost non existent.<br/>
