Just had burger high tea for my birthday. BRILLIANT. Pulled pork burger and beef burger were excellent. The dessert plate was to die for! Highly recommended!!!
I can not recommend this place more. It was fantastic. Food was excellent, they catered for all dietary requirements. The owners and staff were fantastic, very welcoming. I will be back. Loved it. Thanks so much.
The burgers are very good. Uncle Sam is one of the top in Canberra. I have had them many times and have never had a bad meal here. It is exxy for the size but the burger high tea deal off of scoupon was good value (half price), I wouldn't pay full price for it though unless I wanted the unlimited drinks package. All in all, worth trying if you're sick of Brod and live in Kingston area.
Relaxed friendly service, cruisey family-friendly vibe , and part of the action at the waterfront. Great to be able to have a beer, with your kids happy and enjoy the water views, a few steps away from the main hustle bustle. Food was well balanced, not too salty, generous portions and nicely presented. Will be back !
What can I say, please do yourself a favor and order the Miss Piggy! What a burger that is. I was recommended to pair it with a cloudy apple cider and what a magical combination it was. The food was so good, I didn't even notice the decoration of the restaurant or the staff service. You can also get the burger as a take away and eat it along the river you're keen.
Beef & Barley has supremely delicious burgers that are genuinely good - as opposed to the over hyped averageness of the so-called 'best burger joint in Canberra'.
In fact we'd suggest Beef and Barleys burgers are the best we've had in Canberra. It's also in a way nicer location and you don't have to order your burger 50minutes in advance!
Super friendly and attentive staff too. Definitely in the top ranks of burger joints in town.
The Kingston Foreshore now has a range of restaurants available. It can be a pleasant place to dine but parking can be a little difficult. The Beef and Barley is situated on the Kingston Foreshore so it has a view of the water and a nice breeze. The restaurant has an order and pay at the counter system and the staff seem nice.
Best burger, fries and slaw I've had in a long time. I had the Hen Pen burger (grilled chicken, lettuce, bacon, avocado, feta) - perfectly balanced, plenty of toppings and a soft bun. Will be back for sure!
Had a fantastic tasty burger and beer battered chips with a slaw to die for on the side. One of the best I have had in a long time.
The staff were friendly and super attentive without stalking.
Solid lunch.
We rocked up on a busy Saturday lunchtime and were offered a bar seat inside or brave the cold outside. We chose outside and the staff went out of their way to move heaters and offer blankets which was very considerate.
The food is pricey but for the quality and location it isn't a worry for us. You're on the Kingston foreshore - if you're expecting cheap eats that's your problem.
This was our second visit, the first was enough to bring us back. First time around my fiancé tried the Uncle Sam and would have gone for a second had his stomach capacity not made that impossible. I had the El Pedro which was delicious - the honey goats cheese and mildly spicy chorizo perfect with a nice light cider.
Second time around my fiancé got the Hen Pen which was chock full of avocado, which is an instant winner for him, plus extra tasty streaky bacon.
I had the Miss Piggy which flavour wise was amazing but I might reserve for summer next time around as the condiments make it less 'wholesome winter burger' than some of the other options. That is in no way a negative to the burger - just to the weather.
All burgers are served with quirky and delicious slaw and extra crunchy (perfect!) spiced chips. Fiancé prefers plain chips but he is wrong. These are the best.
The food brought us back and the atmosphere/staff will continue to bring us back many more times to come! Delicious!
I love a good burger and we make pretty delicious burgers at home so I'm a pretty tough critic when it comes to eating burgers out! Yesterday I finally made it to Beef & Barley where I ordered the Uncle Sam burger. This is a beef burger with bacon, fried onion, cheddar, house BBQ sauce, mustard mayo and picked. It was super tasty and the bun was so perfect! The burgers are served with fries and coleslaw and they have a range of chicken, vegetarian, seafood and some other burgers on offer. They also open for breakfast! They're located on the Kingston Foreshore and there's plenty of seating indoors and outdoors.

My last visit to Beef & Barley was just after they had opened, so when I popped by for a solo dinner, I was excited to see that the menu had evolved and grown. Unable to resist the lure of a beef burger with chorizo, I ordered the Atomic Boss ($18.50), with fried onion, smoked mozzarella, pickles, tomato relish, rocket and a choice of house BBQ or ‘fire’ sauce (I went for BBQ). All burgers come with a side of sweet coleslaw and beer-battered chips, and I was delighted to see that they’ve wound back the sugar on the chips, compared to my last visit. The slaw was crunchy and covered in a creamy (thousand island?) dressing, which helped cut through the richness of the burger. Whilst not the most glamorous thing to eat, the burger was utterly delicious – I LOVED the
Great cocktails which were reasonably priced. The meals were delicious, up there in price but worth it. Full of flavour. It wasn't too busy when we went so managed to get a great seat.
I booked my sister’s hens here for burger high teas and we all had such a wonderful time! The food is delicious and the staff are so lovely. Can’t wait to come back.
Great, service and good portion sizes,Mike was very inviting and helpful.
