Full marks for atmosphere, live music, putting on Pokémon Go lures just outside, and most of the craft beers. The stout hardly touched the sides, but the light beer I had made me want to scrape it off my tongue with my fingernails. I didn't acquire a taste for it, but I did get used to it enough to finish my middie, out of pure stubbornness. I don't remember the name of it, sorry. My companion had one called a Lord Nelson, which was drinkable enough. The food service was friendly, and I wouldn't deduct marks for timeliness considering it was a pub on a Friday night. This "bistro" business is a misnomer, unless there's some back room I don't know about. I regret to report that the vegetarian pizza was bland with canned, sliced olives, a sagging base and a generous amount of flavourless cheese. Have a very early dinner in the same street, then walk to the Pot Belly for craft stout and music.
Under new management by the looks of it. Great local, craft beer and cider. Loved the food too, especially the chicken schnitzels and burgers. Friendly staff. Would definitely recommend this place for a quiet beer and a meal on a weekend.
Surprisingly delicious lunch. Went there for lunch with a Living Social voucher. Location is a bit random but pub has a nice feel. Food was excellent and particularly modern for pub fare. I was sold as soon as I saw the Southern Fried chicken wings and arrancini. Both every bit as delicious as they looked. Pork belly for lunch was fab but give the steak burger a miss - it was unexpectedly shabby and boring compared to the other meals. Staff were great considering we had accidentally bought the voucher thinking we could bring two toddlers and a baby - which we did! Very helpful and nice about the mess we left behind.
