For those who miss Singapore Hawker food...your prayers have been answered. Almost the real deal. Even the seating reminded me of the hawker stalls. The chicken rice was fragrant and comes with chillie sauce and flavoured chicken. Extra servings of chillie sauce will cost you a dollar more but totally worth it. A bit low on staff but the service was quick albeit a bit non personal. Parking is available in the same complex but not too many so pick your time wisely. Don't forget to try the delicious Yum soup.
A friend of mine recommended this place to me a while back. I would say it’s one of the best places for hainanese chicken rice in Canberra. The rice is aromatic, something I could eat by itself and be pretty content already. The chicken is extremely tender and juicy. Oh and it comes with a side of clear chicken broth. Yummmmmmy! It reminds me of home!
Also tried some of the new items on the menu, it did not disappoint. The beef brisket curry and the fried eggplant goes so well with chicken rice or just steamed rice.
Tip: If you have any eggplant left over, you can just heat it up in the oven, you’ll be able to keep that crunch second time round
I was amongst a group of 10 who dined at Lion City for the first time. We all enjoyed the delicious food, the owner and staff are also very polite and accomodating
So I've ordered from here too many times now and it would be unjust for me not to rate this restaurant. Excellent food; however, whilst I explored the menu the first few times (and it was all great) we can't go past the sizzling Mongolian chicken with a side of plain rice and some spring rolls. It's the treat the wife and I enjoy every Friday and it always hits the mark. When food is this good you have to take notice, excellent work Lion City!

Most of the food are delicious, but they're not hot & spicy the way I like. My favourite is Salted Fish & Chicken Fried Rice.
The place is like a fast food. We come to the counter, order and pay. Then have a seat and wait for the food to be served.
Really delicious food and quick service. Highly recommend if you’re craving Singaporean/Malaysian food. The serving sizes are huge - very value for money.
Casual place with really delicious Malaysian and Singaporean hawker style food. Hidden gem in Gungahlin , located opposite Mapleton Avenue tram stop. They also deliver to the surrounding neighbourhood. It is so difficult to choose a favourite dishes as there are so many great choices. We love their laksa, chicken rice and noodles with fried wanton as well as the steamed whole fish.
