This restaurant adds to the Melbourne dining scene, the one thing that has been long absent - reasonably priced authentic French food! The coq au vin was to die for, as was the mulled wine. The thick French accent of the servers reminds you of being in Paris!!
The sweet crepes here are better than the ones in France (in my opinion).
We stumbled across this one on Saturday night and were more than pleasantly surprised very nice decor lovely staff and really good food, portion sizes were great, we will be adding this one to our meal roster.
If you're after an authentic French crepe this is the place to go! Lovely staff and so reasonably priced. Never been disappointed and will definitely keep going. Yum!
Sunday morning, my buddy and I were in the neighborhood to have a quick brunch. As we both were quite stressed about exams and other stuff, we decided to have something that favors our sweet tooth. Crepes - something which reminds me of a South Indian dish called Dosa, I know, it's a long shot comparison.
Ambiance: The place looks quite laid back and calls out the charm of rustic life. The red brick laid walls have some black and white photo frames hanged to it. I feel a bit confused regarding the decor of this place as it looks not well maintained. They have to come up with something to brighten this old soul. It is maybe furnishing or lighting or adding more green. There is this map of France and some newspaper cuttings on a wall, just near to the entrance. However, someone decided to block it off completely by putting a table, and it displays the baguette, danish, croissant, etc.
Service: The service was stunning. We asked the staff to help us out with the right pronunciation of certain things, and she did a fantastic job — prompt and neat service.
Food: We ordered Pim's (Raspberry and Chocolate), Monkey (Banana and Chocolate), Latte, and Soy Flat White. The coffee was great. I am a chocolate lover, and the crepes were lip-smacking. It's worth it. They have other sorts of pancakes which has meat/eggs as toppings. I want to try that soon.
Very tasty local crepe/galette place! A couple of vegan options for the galettes which is great. You can also build your own :) Will definitely be back to try more.
Bonjour!
I came with no expectations as I couldn’t find a food photo that made me go “wow-this is looks so yummy”. But I guess I shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. I had the Navarin d’ agneau Galette - slow cooked lamb shoulder, potatoes, carrots and salad👍🏻 ❤️👍🏻❤️👍🏻❤️ It was truly delicious- crunchy roasted potato wedges and carrots, tender lamb and and that hint of burnt garlic made my tastebuds go dancing 💃 🕺
Friends had the Complète à la Route Galette (- egg, cheese, ham, mushroom, truffle oil) and the Tiger crêpe ((sweet)- salted caramel, chocolate, almonds) which was yummy too but I thought the portion was for someone with a smaller appetite. But hey, maybe we were expected to order more to share?
Although I was still a bit hungry after this, I was still quite satisfied with my lunch choice. Great choice for an afternoon break/ snack.
This is a beautiful French cafe celebrating the beautiful culture, people and food! I took my Mum here for lunch on Bastille Day and enjoyed the whole experience, especially the delicious crepes that were tasty and very filling.
Love this authentic French crepe cafe. The staff are really pleasant and friendly we have been several times and with friends and family. We have tried both savoury and sweet crepes and have enjoyed every crepe.. The La Belle Normande flambed with apple brandy calvados is always a favourite. I love the crepe with lemon plain but delicious. Love the atmosphere
Tried this place for the first time. Been past the one in the city so thought we would try it. Had the signature La Belle Normande. Flambed with Apple brandy calvados. That gave it a spectacular touch.
Very nice because they make their own salted caramel. It is quite sweet so best if it’s shared. Others had the Nutella crepe. Service was friendly and it was a pleasant atmosphere.
Absolutely delicious crepes at Roule Galette. Great if you’re in the mood for a savoury dish, but you really can’t go past their sweet options.
I’m an absolute sucker for the traditional Nutella crepes and I’d happily eat them all day, every day!
Enjoy every visit to roule galette. The staff are attentive and even when close to closing or even after still are willing to accomodate one more crepe for a desperate customer.
The cinammon sugar is a favourite
Wonderful selection of sweet and savoury crepes at very reasonable prices. Can be a little slow on service when it is busy but still worth the wait
