They used to have a CBD outlet back in 2016 but unfortunately, it closed down. I always liked the food at Petaling St, way way better than PappaRich. Pretty decent Malaysian food honestly, it’s like those Chinese dai chow/chau type of restaurants 🇲🇾
I really loved their marmite chicken 🍗 Big pieces of chicken with crunchy skin - absolute bomb (probably prefer this than the ones we get in Malaysia where the chicken pieces are tiny & no crunchy skin)

Came here for a quick lunch with my colleagues.
The Hainan Chicken Rice is a little dry. But my combination roast rice was perfect.
I would recommend their combination rice to my friend. Definitely coming into the area more often as my work started in the area soon.
Always great tasting food with huge portion and unbeatable price. Can order 1 dish for 2 ppl. Gave is the roast chicken with egg noodle, and any of the barramundi dishes. Also love the ice kacang.
Love their food and this signature petaling Street fish, the rice was a nasi goreng, can’t wait to go there again. The staff is friendly and efficient.
Definitely worth the wait because the food arrives pretty quick.
Everything is so cheap, big portion you can even take away for tomorrow’s lunch. The food was so good, with a lot of varieties. The fish with rice for dinner is a bargain. Very tasty Malaysian food with a bit of a mixture of Chinese, Thai, Indian, Singapore, a bit of everything
"Winding your way down on Petaling Street. Lite in your head, and dead on your feet"
The Dear Luncher and family have ordered takeaway from Petaling Street before, now it was time to perch inside for a feed. It was a sweltering Melbourne day and Petaling Street offered comfort and air conditioning. The Carnegie branch of Petaling is spacious and expansive. The menu is also expansive. Almost too expansive, too many choices. Upon being seated there seemed to be about five different laminated A3 documents to peruse. The walls were also peppered with pictures of dish options. This was annoying, I'm here to eat not apply for a mortgage. But I digest, as I often do.
Pan fried pork dumplings (12) were ordered, as well as a Char kway teow and Beef Rendang (with rice). This turned out to be quite a lot of food for just two people, but The Dear Luncher just rolled up his sleeves and got to work.
The dumplings were of a high quality. The casings were still fluffy and soft despite being fried - delicious little morsels. This is the difference between being lightly fried and drowned in oil fried. The Char kway teow was absolutely spot on. Mrs Luncher was lamenting the lack of prawns (only two) but Your Dear Luncher doesn't care much for those creatures. This particular Char kway teow was a fabulous exponent of this well-traveled dish, highly recommend.
The Beef Rendang was aromatic and plentiful. Served on a bed of lettuce it looked terrific. It was not the softest and most "pully-aparty" Rendang The Dear Luncher has consumed, but it was satisfactory.
All in all a plesant experience. The Dear Luncher enjoys comfort and spacious surrounds and Petaling offers this up to their clientele. Beer prices very good as well. $6 for a Tsing-Tao - big tick.

Delicious late afternoon lunch, roast combo of duck, BBQ pork, and roast pork with dry noodles was delicious, also had special fried rice and tofu hot pot. We ordered pork dumplings which I would give a miss. Carnegie street is pretty cool place with lots of restaurants
If you have never had Malaysian street food before it's worth a try. Think simple dishes in a casual setting with lots of flavour. Menu is massive with plenty of variety.
I popped in for a quick lunch mid week & it didn't disappoint. The BBQ meat in the window lured me in, so I chose 2 types of BBQ meat in my noodle soup.
The amount of food that came out was a lot!
The crispy pork was super tasty, and the duck was delicious. The broth was simple, but good. I didn't eat too many noodles as I needed stomach real estate for the meat- however they were slightly chewy and lovely.
My whole giant meal was under $14 and I would eat there again. The decor was basic, but clean. I could imagine when it's busy that it'd be a really noisy restaurant as the whole interior is tiled. The service was friendly & efficient, and the complimentary tea was a good temperature to drink.
This place is exactly what it says it is. Maylasian street food. Nothing fancy, inexpensive and yummy. Service is basic but quick. Since I live near by I will definitely be going back.
Came here for a quick meal and was impressed by how good and satisfying the meal was.
Price is slightly more dear than your general takeaway, but not too much. What you see came to a little over $30, which fed two.
I'd definitely come here again. Have already recommended some friends to come here to give it a try.
Been a customer here for many years now. This is my family’s go to restaurant. Our favorite dishes are ‘steamed fish with black bean’, ‘Hainanese Chicken rice’, and ‘Salted Fish Fried rice’. Service is pretty good here as well. The price is very reasonable and porting size is big. The only nitpicking is lack of ventilation. Sometimes I just feel like I’m sitting in a square box but service and foods make up for it. Check them out if you like Malaysian/ Asian food. Highly recommended 👍
Authentic malaysian taste!
Love the restaurant, the service is okay and the highlight is the Marmite Fried Chicken! Will come back again
I recommend the roast pork! Delicious and fast, friendly service.
Had lunch there and while it was quite nice, it could have been better. The satay beef was quite tasty but had hardly any broccoli, compared to the picture. The roast duck was also quite nice, as was the mie goreng.
Worth a try. Might go back. Lots of places to try in the street.
Good price for food and really quick service.
I would say that quantity could be increased, but definitely the tastiest Crispy Pork Belly along Koornang Road.
They also take surcharge on credit card, so be aware!
Have to request chilli oil / soy sauce (Free of charge).
Dishes come in good portions, but could definitely balance the rice / meat ratio.
Parking located at the back near Carnegie Library, very easy access.
Their different fruit drinks (not pictured) are well priced and delicious to accompany any meal!
We had a great dinner there, staffs were very friendly and helpful.
Dishes were yum, reasonable price, $15-$20 per person, really good value.
Large portion sizes. Good price. Food tastes great. Cannot complain.
Good price, lots of variety and very delicious. I've been to this place many times before and it never disappoints me. The Hainan chicken rice and soup was very good.
