Stopped for a coffee on our day trip. coffee was beautiful as was the staff there! Just the pit stop we needed! Thanks guys for a great coffee
Lovely taste of Italy in rural Victoria
We stopped in for a quick coffee prior to our gallery visit for a coffee - which was excellent, and quickly decided to come back for lunch later in the day because it had such a nice atmosphere.
From a small kitchen, Lucca and Daniel manage to serve some lovely food, ranging from breakfasts, piadinas, bruschetta, zuppa, and several assagio plates and a pasta special.
All lovely, along with very friendly service.
Oh and the cakes all look excellent but we were too full to sample them.
They open at night and add pizzas to the menu.
Couldn't fault. Came for coffee and some cakes for afternoon tea. The weather was horrible but the staff were extremely accommodating and waited to seat is inside out of the elements. They were very busy however I never felt like the waitress forgot us and she was very attentive. The coffee was delicious and creamy (soy and dairy) and cakes were delicious.
Oh my, what a wee gem this place is?! A relatively short menu had me initially thinking, "oh I'd have liked ..." but clearly the focus on quality rather than quantity was worth it. Everything on the platter was great. The pizza (our version of vego with ham and anchovies, sans rocket) was frankly the best pizza I've had in longer than I can remember. We were one of 3 pairs of customers in the courtyard and it turned out that a bit of peace, not being spoilt for choice and a good bottle of wine (Connor Park) was exactly what we needed.
Amazingly delicious! Tasty and perfect sharing lunch platters. Friendly, informative staff. Advised us with our order to create a great lunch. Must visit if your in the area!

We chanced upon Origini and were pleasantly surprised.
There's a nice leafy courtyard out the back to dine in.
The Italian owner certainly lets his love of food shine through with warm friendly service and authentic Italian dishes.

If you're ever in Castlemaine, do yourself a favour and drop into Origini. We were made extremely welcome by Ingrid who runs this delightful cafe with her husband Luca. Obviously popular with locals but warm and inviting to visitors like ourselves, this place is an absolute gem in every respect.
Fantastic!. A group of us had lunch here, delicious! Amazing Antipasti platter, and the piadina was delicious. Super friendly staff and great coffee. What more could you want!

Authentic Italian cuisine at it’s very best. A second birthday spent with friends at this amazing restaurant and made to feel like family. We look forward to the many occasions to come at Origini.

Absolutely fabulous little gem. The garden in summer is wonderful Luca is just so fabulous you might think you’re in Italy. Service is great . And the food is always good . I’m local so feel blessed to have such a wonderful place on my doorstep
Italian cafe in the heart of Castlemaine with home made cakes to die for and authentic Italian pasta, soups and bruschetti. Hugely popular for coffee, but also a great spot for a cheeky glass of wine with lunch. Limited indoor seating and out the front, but there's a gorgeous courtyard out the back with trees providing ample natural shade from the sun.
Wonderful, warm and attentive service and the food and wine were delicious! Sitting at an outside front table, we enjoyed the spacious, relaxed main street feel. Our puppies sat with us too. We had the Assaggi tasting platter for 2 and the Bendigo Shiraz. A perfect way to end our afternoon exploring Castlemaine. We'll be back before our trip is over. Highly recommend.

Origini, where have you been all my life? You enter, and are greeted like family. The food, authentic Italian, is sublime. The service, superb.
Had a fabulous lunch there today as we were travelling through to NSW, true Italian pasta fungi and pork meat balls with a nice glass of wine ! Staff were amazing ! Highly recommend! 🥰🙏
