After my lunch at the French Bistrot I decide on a coffee here. Walking into this cool and tastefully decorated Patisserie, I leave the stifling Summer heat at the door. I can take a seat and relax as we have table service. I order a large (Merlo) Cafe Latte that comes with three shots. Unfortunately, the Signature Scones are unavailable on weekends so I opt for a Croissant with butter and jam.
*My Cafe Latte is exceptional. Served hot and strong, this coffee is full flavoured and smooth. This is my best Merlo Coffee this year and it rates a perfect 5!
*The Croissant is warmed just enough for the butter to melt and with a dollop of Strawberry jam it is simply delightful. My best Croissant for the year and it rates a perfect 5!
A staff member declined my request to photograph inside this cosy Patisserie, the scrumptious cakes and pastries. Thus, I am only able to share photos of my food and beverage. I compliment the Barista for my great coffee and I thank the young waitress for her caring service. Highly recommended!
For over a decade the food has always been fresh and tempting. I recently had a Bailey's cheesecake that was the most delicious, melt-in-your-mouth cake that only the C P B could serve. I am returning as often as I can to indulge in another. This place has been a favourite of locals and visitors for a long time and the selection of mouth watering cakes is unsurpassed in Brisbane. I take my overseas visitors there all the time. (If I were to complain about anything, it is that there is no table cloth or even a place mat. Only serviettes and if the standard were raised a napkin would be great.)
I visit cream whenever I am in the area and want a sweet fix. You can't go wrong with freshly baked scones. The breakfasts are not out there with "fancy health foods" which I like, just your standard bacon and eggs, It is an all day breakfast as well. Personally I am not a big lover of the coffee that they serve. You can tend to wait a little so if you are in a rush best to get take away. I find the staff always helpful and nice.
Was very happy that we found “Cream” as were heading for Flute, next door, but decided we needed a pastry & coffee only.
Good friendly service, Merlo coffee was better than it is usually served elsewhere ( I usually avoid anywhere that serves Merlo, as it tastes weak & stale to me).
Croissant & other pastries we had were most acceptable.
Will be returning when near again.
Drove to this café purposefully to compare the scone that I had from next door few months ago. Although the trading hour is from 7:00am on Saturday, they only open the al fresco area so did not have the chance to sit in the nice comfortable indoor dining area. I have no problem with Merlo coffee, however, the one that I had was slightly too weak. Scone was freshly baked but there was no surprisingly texture as what I had next door, particularly the jam that provided was food merchandise that was let down as the next door would serve freshly homemade one. Not until I paid the bill, then I had the chance to walk in the indoor dining area where looks pretty cosy. Sincere smile from the lady (believe to be the boss) standing inside the counter gained back a lot of marks due to the fact that the waiter who served me was too quiet.
We happened upon Cream by chance, as we were heading to the neighboring Flute however it didn't have the variety we were after for the kids for morning tea. Cream was amazing. The scones are made to order so come out hot from the oven! The others pastries that we had were lovely too. The coffee is great and the service is exceptional. Very happy with this little find!
Just enjoyed the short stack of pancakes with strawberries. Always delicious. And good to know so much of the food at Cream is gluten free. My sister can eat here and have choices.
One of my absolute favourites when in brisbane. A good coffee and cake and have always enjoyed meals ordered. Eggs Benedict is a treat and so too is the Banofee Tart - divine.
My benchmark dish is the Eggs Benedict. It’s either right or wrong. This version was in the ‘right’ category with good quality smoked ham, made from scratch hollandaise and for those following my breakfast adventures, the requisite firm poached eggs as requested. A large and filling breakfast for a very reasonable $15. Mr Tiffin crossed over from all day breakfast to the lunch menu and enjoyed some Smoked Barramundi Cakes ($20) that were crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. Served alongside a salad of rocket, pear and parmesan, they were declared to be ‘excellent’. Cream Patisserie also sells a wide range of cakes and pastries made on premise. They are suppliers to several upscale restaurants in SE Qld, so skip the hefty dessert price tag at these venues and get a treat to takeaway from the patisserie itself.
One of our Favourite's. We are regulars at Cream - the coffee is great, the service is friendly, and the food is sensational.
