After my lunch at the French Bistrot I decide on a coffee here. Walking into this cool and tastefully decorated Patisserie, I leave the stifling Summer heat at the door. I can take a seat and relax as we have table service. I order a large (Merlo) Cafe Latte that comes with three shots. Unfortunately, the Signature Scones are unavailable on weekends so I opt for a Croissant with butter and jam.
*My Cafe Latte is exceptional. Served hot and strong, this coffee is full flavoured and smooth. This is my best Merlo Coffee this year and it rates a perfect 5!
*The Croissant is warmed just enough for the butter to melt and with a dollop of Strawberry jam it is simply delightful. My best Croissant for the year and it rates a perfect 5!
A staff member declined my request to photograph inside this cosy Patisserie, the scrumptious cakes and pastries. Thus, I am only able to share photos of my food and beverage. I compliment the Barista for my great coffee and I thank the young waitress for her caring service. Highly recommended!
For over a decade the food has always been fresh and tempting. I recently had a Bailey's cheesecake that was the most delicious, melt-in-your-mouth cake that only the C P B could serve. I am returning as often as I can to indulge in another. This place has been a favourite of locals and visitors for a long time and the selection of mouth watering cakes is unsurpassed in Brisbane. I take my overseas visitors there all the time. (If I were to complain about anything, it is that there is no table cloth or even a place mat. Only serviettes and if the standard were raised a napkin would be great.)
I visit cream whenever I am in the area and want a sweet fix. You can't go wrong with freshly baked scones. The breakfasts are not out there with "fancy health foods" which I like, just your standard bacon and eggs, It is an all day breakfast as well. Personally I am not a big lover of the coffee that they serve. You can tend to wait a little so if you are in a rush best to get take away. I find the staff always helpful and nice.
Was very happy that we found “Cream” as were heading for Flute, next door, but decided we needed a pastry & coffee only.
Good friendly service, Merlo coffee was better than it is usually served elsewhere ( I usually avoid anywhere that serves Merlo, as it tastes weak & stale to me).
Croissant & other pastries we had were most acceptable.
Will be returning when near again.
Drove to this café purposefully to compare the scone that I had from next door few months ago. Although the trading hour is from 7:00am on Saturday, they only open the al fresco area so did not have the chance to sit in the nice comfortable indoor dining area. I have no problem with Merlo coffee, however, the one that I had was slightly too weak. Scone was freshly baked but there was no surprisingly texture as what I had next door, particularly the jam that provided was food merchandise that was let down as the next door would serve freshly homemade one. Not until I paid the bill, then I had the chance to walk in the indoor dining area where looks pretty cosy. Sincere smile from the lady (believe to be the boss) standing inside the counter gained back a lot of marks due to the fact that the waiter who served me was too quiet.
We happened upon Cream by chance, as we were heading to the neighboring Flute however it didn't have the variety we were after for the kids for morning tea. Cream was amazing. The scones are made to order so come out hot from the oven! The others pastries that we had were lovely too. The coffee is great and the service is exceptional. Very happy with this little find!
Just enjoyed the short stack of pancakes with strawberries. Always delicious. And good to know so much of the food at Cream is gluten free. My sister can eat here and have choices.
One of my absolute favourites when in brisbane. A good coffee and cake and have always enjoyed meals ordered. Eggs Benedict is a treat and so too is the Banofee Tart - divine.
My benchmark dish is the Eggs Benedict. It’s either right or wrong. This version was in the ‘right’ category with good quality smoked ham, made from scratch hollandaise and for those following my breakfast adventures, the requisite firm poached eggs as requested. A large and filling breakfast for a very reasonable $15. Mr Tiffin crossed over from all day breakfast to the lunch menu and enjoyed some Smoked Barramundi Cakes ($20) that were crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. Served alongside a salad of rocket, pear and parmesan, they were declared to be ‘excellent’. Cream Patisserie also sells a wide range of cakes and pastries made on premise. They are suppliers to several upscale restaurants in SE Qld, so skip the hefty dessert price tag at these venues and get a treat to takeaway from the patisserie itself.
One of our Favourite's. We are regulars at Cream - the coffee is great, the service is friendly, and the food is sensational.
I'm all about the customer service when it comes to dining out. If the food is great but the customer service is poor then it ruins the whole experience. Today I was in the area and needed coffee. I popped into Creme and was warmly welcomed by friendly smiles. I was served quickly and the barista was very friendly and chatted with me while I waited. I only stopped for coffee and some goodies from their massive selection but will definitely be back to try more due to the friendly staff and not to mention that great coffee and delicious baked goods.
I have been coming to cream for years. The cakes are amazing! The pancakes are to die for and the only let down is the coffee. I can honestly say I have never had a good coffee from here. I would recommend they look at changing their beans or having their staff retrained.
Best big breakfast in brisbane. Technically my home made big breakfast is the best getting around but when I decide to go
out Creme is the go to place. Their hot breakfast is traditional, simple and cooked to perfection.
Ricotta Pancakes with Macerated Balsamic Strawberries (Gluten Free). Delicately light fluffy pancakes, with rich marinated balsamic strawberries & a Maple syrup drizzle.
Enjoyable arvo. I had a great afternoon with family and friends. I enjoyed the coffee and cakes on offer. Each of us had a different 'treat'. I was a hard decision for all of us. I found the staff very helpful when suggesting items to try.
The barrister was a breath of fresh air. Down to earth and helpful. We will be returning and Cream is now my ladies groups best morning out.
Perfectly Crafted Cakes and Immaculate Service!. Words cannot express the feeling that I get when I see my 82 year old Oma (Dutch grandmother in-law) enjoy cake like she did today! We had already bypassed 2 establishments with inferior cake offerings and driven 15 minutes out of our way to peruse the extensive fresh offering window of Cream. I'm not sure what the previous reviews were based on but I'm glad we overlooked them. The wait staff were impeccable and could not be more accommodating! The cake selection and quality is by far the best in Brisbane and the overall experience was certainly one that we will return for! If you want to have your cake and eat it too then this is certainly the place to do it!!!
Perfect place for a coffee and a high quality desert, so many to choose from. Service was very good, lovely atmosphere.
After seeing the line up next door I was a bit unsure why Cream wasn't so busy. I had my reservations about the place but after the food arrived I was very impressed. The coffee is a bit average but the breakfast was excellent and good value. The sweets in the window looked incredible. We'll definitely be returning.
Good food but average service. Went here for lunch the other day, got the crab linguine and one of the cakes for dessert. The crab pasta was fresh and full flavour and nicely balanced, I can't remember what the other people I was with got but they were impressed also. Same goes with dessert, just yum. Service was average, I think one of the guys was new so that may have been why but I think we had up to about 4 waiters on our table, reasking for things etc.
Had the best ever ricotta hotcakes with macerated strawberries. The best way to get into a long weekend.
Ill never go anywhere else for breakfast! Being a fussy eater I always find it hard when ordering food at a restaurant - but Cream never fail to accommodate my tastes. They have a great selection to choose from, you're never left waiting long for your meal, great service and great value for money. Now that I have tried European dining I am hooked. Thank you Cream staff for making each of my visits an actual delight. I will definitely be coming back and will make sure to tell all of my friends.

Great coffee & dessert. We love to go here for dessert and coffee on a friday or sat night.... never disappointed
Went into cream today to pick up some takeaway coffees and a cake to cheer up a friend who just broke her leg. The place was packed but I still got served almost immediately! The staff were super friendly, acknowledging me as soon as I walked in the door. I got a soy cap & an Italian hot chocolate - both were to die for & I honestly believe this place makes the best coffee in Brisbane! I've heard the same remark from a lot of people so I just had to head in and check it out myself. Of course I couldn't leave without trying one of there famous cakes so I choose one called the marvel which was chocolate, caramel & walnuts.. Looked amazing & tasted even better! Needless to say I definitely cheered my friend up! I will definitely be back - perhaps on Sunday, I hear they do all day breakfast - cant wait!
Cannot Get Enough. Cannot rave enough about the exquisite desserts on offer at Cream, plus the semi-closed in outdoor setting is a wonderful place to enjoy without being impeded on by the restaurants surrounding.
Always visit cream is buying a small dessert for a friends birthday or if having people over for a dinner party. Favourites include: Fruit Tart, Banoffee Pie, Lemon Meringue, Lavender and Chocate Tart. Plus the Fruit Mince Pies on offer at Christmas were some of the best I've tried in Brisbane.
The website only offers their standard desserts, the window and inside cabinet is always filled with a variety of other specials.
Also, staff is always very efficient and attentive every time I've visited.
Perfection!. The coffee at Cream is the best in Brisbane! I have been to Cream numerous times and my flat white is always smooth, strong and the perfect temperature. Fortunately the breakfast menu is all day so I can always satisfy my craving for blueberry pancakes! The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are friendly and efficient.
Cream - great place for catch ups. Been to Cream probably 100 times over the last 5 years.
Always been a great venue for quick service and the goods are always scrumptious and decent on price.
Coffee excellent and my wife swears that no one makes a better hot chocolate - in fact she has sent me on winter drives up to Cream just to bring her back a take-away hot choc.
Worst part about the place - too many tasty choices - so hard to make a decision on what you want to eat - well bugger it and buy several i say.
Great place for kids too with plenty of tasty eats for them as well.
We love you Cream - dont go anywhere!!!!
Feed me More. Popped into this place during the week late in the arvo. Place looked like it was about to close but the nice lass behind the counter said only the kitchen was closed, what was at the counter and the cabinet was still to be had.
Nabbed a guiness pie - mmmmm guiness - and a java. Wolfin' that tasty morsel and awsome coffee down I wandered up to pay and saw some dude shuffling about in the kitchen. Who's that I asked. The girl said it was the pastry chef. Dude comes in the afternoon and makes all the cakes and stuff fresh for the morning.
Not the most knowlegable bugger out there but I've been to enough places to know most buy their stuff in. I was impressed enough to buy an orange and almond cake and a raspberry nutty thing. And damn happy I did too! Cause them cakes are delicious! You should come in and try some!
Delicious cakes and wonderfully strong coffee. Ever since we divas decided to try Cream we haven't looked back nor have the countless number of family and friends we have introduced to the wonderful cakes on offer. We find service is efficient and the staff are friendly. The cakes we cannot praise enough, the only downside is trying to pick just one. The coffees are lovely and strong and the hot chocolate is so thick and tasty. We can also recommend their breakfasts: the pancakes and the eggs benedict are nice (it is so nice to find poached eggs that haven't been poached till they are hard!). Also if special occasion is to be celebrated try the high tea, we have never seen a high tea with so much food and all of it absolutely delicious (so so so so much food). The never ending pots of tea was nice as well we never ran out of tea either occasion (We have had high teas elsewhere where the drinks would run out and getting more tea was difficult).
Best breakfast in town - highly recommend. I have been to Cream multiple times, it is our favourite coffee shop / breakfast spot and I'm unable to fault it. The service is absolutely fantastic, the owner remembers our order and is always up for a friendly chat! The coffee is great and they have a fantastic selection of good quality teas. The food is absolutely amazing, the eggs Benedict would have to be the highlight for me, served on a croissant is a very indulgent twist. I also love the choc chip cookies and the hazelnut macaroons are to die for! I can't recommend Cream more highly - do yourself a favour and try it!
Fantastic!. Gotta say I love this place. I go there almost every weekend with my housemates and am always happy with the service and grea food. I rarely wait for a table and the service is prompt friendly and spot on.
I love the eggs bennidict with salmon and the other dishes my friends eat are always top notch. Definitely a place I'd recommend :)
YOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE!!!!. I moved to Holland Park 3 years ago.. I must've eaten no lest than 150 of their steak sandwiches. It is THE best steak sandwich I have ever eaten, I've eaten steak s/w's all around the world and this is hands down #1. I've introduced the Cream steak sandwich to around 15 people and everyone of them agree'd it is #1. When friends stay with me in Brisbane they always ask, can we go get a Cream steak s/w?
I've also had many breakfasts and a whole lot of cakes / desserts from Cream too which you'll find hard to beat even in little place called Paris. and yes I've eaten at Ludree Paris / New York which was on par with Cream's desserts.
Mouth watering much? I just ate yet another (have a guess...?) steak sandwich and I cant believe they've held such quality consistently for my 150 or so visits.
Do yourself a favour and go in there and eat something. If its not up to your standards go take a jump, because you're impossible to please and probably live alone whining about politics.
Best little cafe serving super fresh food and cakes made with love on the SouthSide!. This place is excellent and I have lived in London and Paris for numerous years so I know what a French Patisserie is really like... Although I have been to Cream a number of times this is the first time I have reviewed it... I had to give my feedback as I can see it has had mixed reviews re service and I have to say I have never experienced bad or slow service from this lovely place, it is interesting to note however that the bad reviews seem to be coming from customers that mention Flute next door? Perhaps they are friends with the owner? Come on people lets keep this site fair and only give honest and reasonable reviews as we are dealing with peoples livelihoods... Give this place a go yourself and see what you think, I believe it's well above par!
Cream is one of my favourite places for coffee and catch up with girlfriends. The cakes are always divine and the coffee is delicious. Today we tried the banoffe tart, new york cheesecake abd sour cream choc cake, served with REAL whipped cream (thickened with icong sugar - delicious!) All were divine.
on the negative however is Cream's WOEFUL service. This is a problem every time we visit. we sat for twp hours, and never had our water refilled, and had to attract the waiters attention to order more drinks. I would suggest more than one waiter in the floor could improve things.
Whilst I’ve always enjoyed a meal, or coffee and cake at Cream, I have been particularly happy with them since I became a mother. Their service and care for my son is wonderful and helps me relax and enjoy my time with friends and family. The food is always good.
I have been to Cream so many times and it is always lovely. Multiple breakfasts, morning teas to celebrate special events (the amazing window of cakes is fun for all) Cream is my go to place. Something for everyone, great table service and reasonably priced. Recommend the eggs Benny on a croissant for a luxurious breakfast!!!
Fantastic Flavours. Chose the blackened chicken from the lunch time menu and was pleasantly surprised when I tasted the dish. The chicken had been coated in a mixture of different spices which gave it a beautiful flavour whilst still being moist and tender. The winter coleslaw and soft tortilla like base was a lovely accompaniment. I would certainly recommend this dish it was beautiful, well done.
Delightful Breakfast!. It was so refreshing to be served by attentive staff - I even noticed some staff members greeting regular customers by name.
Visited Cream for the first time recently for Sunday breakfast. Did not have to wait for a table and was offered coffees straight away. Whilst we did have to wait about half an hour for our meals, a waitress told us they would be five minutes away and offered us a complimentary round of beverages.
Ricotta-based bluberry pancakes were beautiful (so big I couldn't finish) and my partners' breakfast sandwhich was also lovely... he could not stop staring at the gorgeous cakes either, which we know from 'takeaway visits' are beautiful also.
Would definitely return to Cream for breakfast/lunch again!
Great tea variety and tea leaves to boot!. Food is really tasty, staff really pleasant, and an amazing variety of fresh tea .. they obviously realise that coffee drinkers don't make the world go 'round!
Awesome coffee!. We come here weekly for the coffee and are never disappointed. Food is good sometimes great, waitresses are a bit airy fairy but get the job done well enough. Coffee is the best around!! Breakfast menu is the clear winner (with the crowds proving this) but the patisseries in the window are second to none. The chocolate gateau and the fruit and nut meringue are to die for. Will keep coming back
Great atmosphere, food is lovely with great variety and extremelly tasty! Service was pretty good and you couldn't go past the window display of opulent yummies! Definitely go back for round two!
Just an adorable little establishment. The lovely lady behind the counter is great for a laugh and a bit of a qt. Simply amazing coffee and the camerel slice I had was similar to one I had in Paris on my last business venture there. The service was unique as I have never before met such a polite and charismatic young man as Sam the waiter, but why does he wear slippers?? All in all I would recommend this location for general shenanigans and possibly your next company luncheon.
Excellent Brunch. Have been going to Cream Patisserie for many years. The staff are great and Lisa makes one of the best coffees going. Always consistantly great food, and for something that gives a ZING on the tastebuds, the GF Hotcakes with Balsamic Strawberries are something to behold. You certainly won't leave hungry but I bet you will leave wanting more! It's a traditional European style, so the coffee only comes in 1 size, but WHOA, wait till it hits your mouth, sensational,. The perfect belnd and expertly made, never burnt. For those wanting a bucket of coffee, just order 2, it's worth it.
Sadly, as I leave Bris for good i won't have this lovely place to enjoy any longer, but i certainly hope you take the time to enjoy it all in the style that's intended by the owners.
Thanks Lisa and the very cute and sweet Sam for many years of delicious dinning and a special send off Brunch. Kerrie
Love this place. Every week my best friend and I have afternoon tea here and the pastries and cakes are always wonderful. A great local restaurant :)
Marvelous. Charming staff, simply delightful food and to top it off very charismatic environment.
I wanted to try their lunch the scallop rissotto looked nice but because I got there just after three I missed out :( coffee was ok. Will try another day.
Good cake, bad coffee.. Oh the cakes here! So many to choose from!
You will be riddled with indecision here. Cream Patisserie Boulangerie certainly has many many wonderful options but the food service is incredibly lacklustre and the coffee service is dismal.
Still, we got what we asked for and the quality of the cheesecakes (I had raspberry and my cake companion had white chocolate) more than compensated for the insipid service (afterall, you don't go to a cake cafe to eat the waitress! well, I don't anyway....)
I will return! But I think it'll be takeaway next time.
My suggestion: get your cake here and then walk next door to Flute to get your coffee.
Awesome coffee, brilliant cakes, great service. Brekky was a bit greasy, but I should've chosen better. Will go again.
Consistently Good. I have just had two visits to this establishment - on the 28th and back again today and as usual everything was great from the service to the coffee to the little finishing touches that make the visits special. As a general manager in the hospitality industry for over twenty years I am often told I am hard to please but have never been disappointed in visiting Cream over the past couple of years. Now in senior management in the resources industry I fly to Brisbane regularly to have business meetings and when setting up my appointments and asked where to meet for coffee many of my clients/ colleagues ask to go back to Cream which I introduced them to. This is a little inconvenient as our head office and my accommodation when in Brisbane is in the CBD however it is comforting to know that there is a venue that will provide a good quality product and service of a standard I expect in this city.
Well done the team at Cream. I will see you again early in the new year when I fly back in for business and look forward to visiting your lovely establishment where I am sure there will be a great selection of menu options for me to sample. So far my favourite is ..... everything I have experienced.
Cream has become a favourite of ours. We visit regularly for casual Saturday night dinners with the kids. The food is always great and we are well looked after.
Set aside a main road, the Cream Patisserie is a good place to have a sweet breakfast or brunch snack. The food is pretty exxy, however it makes up with the quality of the cuisine. Takeaway cakes is the recommendation here.
Fantastic breakfast, and you must try the scallop and sand crab risotto with burnt butter sauce.. And the cakes and deserts, well they taste as good as they look. Great service
Reasonably priced. Generous portion sizes for a 'fine food' restaurant. Good service. All the dishes were delicious.
Cream Patisserie Boulangerie is a quaint French style cafe that offers breakfast, lunches and dinners and also has a large range of pastries in their window for purchase. They offer high teas as well (something that I noted might be good for an occasion or with nanna!) and make specialty cakes for purchase.
I may or may not have mentioned this before but before I moved from the East side of Brisbane, Cream was my favorite cafe. Hands down. It opens till late on most nights and that was great for me to go on spontaneous 'cake runs' (great for exam-time sugar
