It’s been awhile since last visit, their menu seems to have changed a little, but glad to see that the classic noodle soups are still there. Got the beef combination noon soup. Plenty of beef, tripe, brisket, all of them soft and melt in your mouth. Good flavours through the meat and the soup. There was so much, I couldn’t get through all of the noodles as well. The side of the tofu & was ok, prefer the tofu to be a bit softer.

Green Tea Wheel Cake : 😁 Great

Walked past and had to get one from their food stall. Piping hot green tea flavoured custard in a warm crispy pancake batter. Very flavourful and beautiful to have on a cold windy day. Keen to try their other flavours.

We had a quick lunch here, good lunch deals with reasonable portions. Tasty Taiwanese food! Quick service. The restaurant isn’t too very big but enough seating for small groups or individuals. The stewed pork belly with rice was delicious along with the sides.

It's a cute little place with beautiful lanterns hanging off the ceiling. Staff are super nice and friendly. We had the baodao beef noodle soup and the wonton noodle soup. The broth in the beef noodle soup was amazing and the wonton noodle soup's broth was good but not as flavoursome as the former. The wontons were delicious though. Noodles were good too. We came out of there satisfied; it was exactly what we needed on a cold winter evening.

One of my go-to places for a comforting bowl of beef noodles. Although I always order their beef soup noodles, I have to mention that their fried chicken is fantastic- super crispy and light batter and the chicken is so juicy. I’ve been a few times and would recommend it.

First time came to Bao Dao Taiwanese Kitchen. This restaurant is not easy to locate. It is a small restaurant in Chatswood and that's my first time to have lunch in baodao. The environment is very small, but my sister and I we both think the dishes are really nice, the noodle soup and pork dumplings are really good. We highly recommand the pork dumplings.
Although the food is not very quick but we really satisified for the service.I have some suggestions:
-Shorten the cooking time for dumplings but it was really nice and I highly recommand this and it really worth to wait.
-The attitude provide from the stuffs make me feel comfortable.
-The last thing i want to say is whilst a worker was extremely busy another worker was playing her phone, i don't know is this situation is normal or not.
I will come next time and try other dishes!!!
Food - 4.5/5
Ambience - 2/5
Service - 3/5
Value for Money - 4.5/5

Beef noodle soup used good ingredients, the meat and tendons were tender and flavoursome, the presentation was adequate. It can improve with better customer service and smile on the faces.

Love this restaurant! Quite small with a Taiwanese style design. The food is amazing, especially the pork rice. The sticky pork rice is also quite good, full of flavour. Whenever I go I always get a side of gua bao which is amazing. Overall, always happy with the food and speed that the food gets served.

Bao Dao is definitely my go-to Taiwanese restaurant. Their pork rice and beef noodles are THE BEST! For drinks, I would suggest trying their SOY BEAN MILK & WINTER MELON TEA! Everything is reasonably priced, one of the cheap eats but DELICIOUS food in chatty!

Feel free to follow my instagram @pignic_ for more foodie adventures.

Eating here made me feel like I stepped into a small, hole in a wall eatery in Asia. You definitely need to try their intercoastal noodle and their fried basil chicken. The food is filled with loads of flavour and I'm excited to try the other dishes like the trotters and would give the Gwa Bao and dumplings a miss in our next visit.

This place ticks service, food and value for money - a great place to grab a quick bite in Chatswood that will satisfy your stomach and budget to allow you to spend money on other non essential items in Westfield.

A nice, small Taiwanese joint. It's a little more expensive than what it used to be but still a cheap and quick feed. Some items on the menu are quite average but there are a few that taste really authentic. The beef noodle soup and eggplant are excellent and the trotters are great too. They also do some decent frozen takeaway dumplings that we sometimes get for hot pot.

So, perhaps unnecessary disclaimer that I was a bit flu'ey when I had this combination beef noodle soup and pork trotters but holy hell this was the perfect, and I mean *perfect*, meal for what ails you.

Everything was rich and decadent and just felt like the chef himself was giving you a big warm sweaty hug (strong imagery but this bowl of soup did induce the eat sweats). This if anything is the Chinese version of soul food, and I will definitely be back for more.

First time I went to a Taiwanese restaurant. I can't really tell the authenticity of the food, as I am too confused with the cuisines of South East Asian countries.
I ordered Gwa Bao and Pork Sauce with Rice. I loved Gwa Bao as it had celery and crushed peanut with Pork. The Pork Sauce with Rice was average as the sauce's taste was not mixing with the rice quite well. But i can have 10-12 of those Gwa Baos, loved it.

Oh how I love this place. Between the traditional bao fillings, the beef noodle soup and the eggplant it's hard to go past this place for Taiwanese food in Sydney.

The food here isn't up to par with the authentic Taiwanese food you get from Taiwan, but it would do if you had a Taiwanese food craving to satisfy. We were feeling adventurous so we tried the intestines. They were absolutely delicious! The Pork Belly Gua Bao however was a slight disappointment. The fillings were OK, but a little bland. The dough lacked that soft, fluffiness that a good bao dough usually has. The fried tofu was also not bad, but nothing spectacular.

Awesome Taiwanese food. I love the combination beef noodle soup and usually go for it about once a week if I have the chance. Ive had the basil chicken and some of the side dishes too and can't really fault those either.

Went to this place tonight with a friend after work, for a Friday night dinner. Was pretty impressed. The atmosphere was very cosy and small spaced, but considering it was a Friday night, the place had a volume level that was just perfect for me (not too loud nor too soft). Service was average, nothing special, but they were very efficient at taking food and serving food (got it very quickly which is a plus!).

Ordered the Fried Basil Chicken with Rice for $14 and was blown away by how delicious it was! Also tried the Bao Dao Pork Belly Gwa Bao for $4.5 and that too was good (but not amazing). Would I recommend for people in Chatswood? YES, and do a Friday night if possible!

This place sells food that reminds me of home :). Not literally, but the food here is simple but amazing. My favourite would be the braised pork with rice, in which the flavours are done to perfection (not too salty, and a hint of sweet) and the egg just tops it off.

Went here for a work lunch break. The staff were lovely and the sevice was extremely quick.
As a non pork/bacon/ham eater there was not many options on the menu. I ordered the basil chicken without bacon which was absolutely delicious.
The chicken was verg crispy yet so tender on the inside with a hint a of basil beautifully seasoned.
My friends enjoyed several other dishes as shown in my pics and they were very satisfied.
I would definetely go back for the basil chicken.

Came across this place, just off the main strip in Chatswood and very impressed. As soon as you order any dumplings they advise 10 minute wait and it's worth it, beautiful fresh dumplings, noodles in the soup all delicious. Also really enjoyed the basil chicken, so juicy. Great little place, beautiful food and very friendly staff, can't fault this one

Amazing! I popped in here for lunch, not too experienced with Taiwanese food, and what a nice surprise. From the friendly staff to the quaint decorations, the place felt very welcoming. The Baodao pork belly Gwa Bao was purple so I wasn't sure what to expect! But wow - it melted in my mouth! The fried fish cake and wontons were equally delicious but my favourite was the fried basil chicken. That alone is enough to bring me back again and again! Highly recommended as a lunch spot in the heart of Chatswood!

So affordable. Great value! Not sure how many customers are aware of this, but you can get 10% off if you order over the phone for takeaway, which was a nice surprise because it was so unexpected.

They have size options for the noodles as well which I think is convenient as you have the choice of getting more variety by downsizing each dish. Ordered the beef intercostal noodle soup in large, mushroom and tofu noodles in small, and the pork belly gwa bao. This order was $21 with the discount. Definitely worth it!

I'm guessing the gold stars mean most popular/recommended and with good reason. The beef noodle soup, although a little salty, was tasty and beef was tender. As long as you don't drink just the soup, it would be a very enjoyable dish. The gwa bao also had a gold star and was nice. Would like to try the spicy beef one next time. The let down with the food would have to be the mushroom and tofu noodles. It had a bit of a medicine/herbal taste to me, can't pinpoint what the actual flavor is, but I didn't really enjoy it that much. I think if you stick to the recommendations it will be a thoroughly enjoyable meal.

Had lunch here today. Massive improvement compared to last time we reviewed. No longer required to pay up front. Noodle is much fresher and the pork belly Gwa Bao is much better than last time. We have adjusted their rating accordingly. Bravo to todays chef.

Came here quite often. Love their BaoDao beef tendon and noodle soup, Spicy wontons, Spicy beef gwa bao.

Must pay upfront before they cook the food.

Bottomline : Great Authentic Taiwanese food, good variety too. Service is okay (very polite). Great value.

I had walked by the Taiwanese eatery Bao Dao on several occasions wanting to try it, only to be deterred by the queue outside. Having dined there, I now understand that the queue isn't just due to the small interior, but also because their food is delicious and great value! Try the basil fried chicken and the dumplings!

An authentic Taiwanese kitchen. The wonton noodle soup is out of this world. As are the pork dumplings. I highly recommend a dumpling session here.

Am I awake?. I dream about this place at least once a week. No.1 spicy beef noodles with fried basil chicken any day of the week. Their $3.50 noodles with soy sauce is excellent as well. Just add chilli sauce and viola!

I wish I lived closer so I could be with my Bao Dao every day.

Bao Dao's fairly new to Chatswood, having been around for a little less than a year. Since it first opened, I've heard many good things about it. Indeed, it's one of the more affordable sit-down restaurants around the area, the service is fast, and the food is tasty - even according to my dinner buddy that night and one of my fussier friends when it comes to Shanghainese and Taiwanese cuisines.

The one thing I said that we must all have was the gwa bao or pork belly burger ($4.50), which was very similar to those at Ippudo but had a lot more ingredients (minus the mayo that Ippudo uses). This is the must order dish, in my opinion.

Worth a visit to try. Order and pay at the counter then sit back and wait at a table underneath a roof full of pretty lanterns. First visit and I tried the basil chicken- it was ok.Not much flavour as I'd expected and bit annoyed by spicy chilli powder as description on menu didn't state it.

Food was well priced for busy and fast paced cafe style Taiwanese food.

Small plates or bowls of soup seem to dominate menu.

I'd drop in to try for nice alternative to thai n chinese but not worth making a destinstion.

Saying that its good . Affordable dinner with friends type of place

Polite fast service. We came instead 8pm for a late dinner. Ordered Stewed pork knuckles ($7. 70), Geandma stewed pork belly meal ($12.90) and Spicy beef noodle soup ($11). Excellent value and what we ordered was either pre-prepared or cooked fast. Really tasty like homemade meal. Would definitely return again.

Quick and good. I haven't eaten uniquely 'Taiwanese' food before, or not to my knowledge anyway. Being vegetarian, they had a few options for me. After oogling the menu outside I was on my way to the counter to place my order. The waitress there interceded me and put me on a table with menus - telling me to order at the counter when I was ready. She was very sweet. After sitting down for a reasonable amount of time I made the order of rice with shitake mushroom and tofu, picked cucumber, steamed asian greens, the pocket tofu and the wintermelon tea. Like a sushi train, order enough and the price will surely creep up.

Food arrived quickly. The wintermelon tea ($3) was so nice. Sugary of course but the flavours reminded me of the many iced teas I've had overseas. That's the sign of a good dish, memories. I wish I tried the soy milk because that's made here too. I really liked the cucumber and the greens especially considering the price ($4ea). The rice dish was good but not great, I usually prefer a bit more flavour (~$6). The tofu was not to my taste at all - extremely soggy from all the buttery/oil - is this how the Taiwanese have their tofu - I don't know.

I wouldn't come here for a long meal as it seems very in-and-out, but great for a little food pick me up in-between shopping or a quick dinner.

Wholesome Taiwanese beef noodle soup. Friendly service. Good for a quick simple meal. Order at the touch screen and take a number with you to a table. The beef noodle soup ($15.90) is the specialty - meat is tender and soup is flavourful. The bao and boiled dumplings were also nice. Portions are average. You won’t walk out very full, but you won’t feel hungry either.

Wheel Cake is a traditional Taiwanese snack. Thanks for making such a delicious dessert. The two traditional flavors of red bean and taro are highly recommended. Only Thursday and Friday at Chatswood Market. Braised Pork with Rice and Eggs was delicious. The pork is very sweet and not greasy, and the egg is full of soy sauce light aroma. The beef noodles are super delicious. The soup is very refreshing and sweet. The meat is so tender that no bite is required at all. GWA-BAO is a well-known traditional burger in Taiwan using juicy pork. Highly recommended for gourmets who love pork. thanks

A small Taiwanese restaurant. The food was tasty and the portion was just right. They have a self serve ordering system similar to Maccas but the instructions were confusing. Asking the customer to scan the QR code at the table when it was really asking the customers to take the table number sitting right next to the ordering screen. The ordering screen is located right at the main entrance which also blocks other customers from entering and leaving the restaurant.
