Review Madame Nhu - Chatswood

Wendy Lo
4.2 - I liked it. Got a Pho Dac Biet, and even though the tripe was missing, it was full of beef balls and beef slices, the bean sprouts were plenty, and the noodles were good. The soup was light, fresh and tasty. I loved the huge slice of lemon I got with my larger bowl at $18.80. Service was fine - the lady was pleasant, loud enough to hear about the noise of the food court, and responsive to questions. (In fact, she helped a man to find the Exit just now). Only 2 things that would've helped this score - if it would have been ready quicker (although I did see them making batch orders for food services), and more Basil and the missing tripe please, would've been great!

The food was SOOO good my camera didn't get to eat first, which rarely happens lol I ordered the three style beef noodle soup with extra vegetables

We had the pho soup. It was way too sweet

Pho was alright, lots of meat and onion. The regular serving was a good size for dinner and they provided fresh bean sprouts, basil, lemon and fresh chilli, but the original soup stock we chose was a bit on the sweet side.

Place was very average, service wasn't great, ordered two special phos and broth was very average but the contents was a bit disappointing, one piece of tripe....I mean the price is relatively lower but that's horrible. Beef balls were the size of a 10c piece.... Not much raw beef. Won't eat there again, also ordered a Hainan chicken where the chicken was grilled :/ not Hainan whatsoever.....

Amazing Vietnamese pho and cold coffee in Chatswood at decent prices located in the bustling Hawker Lane. Loads of choice but definitely give this place a try.

Rice noodle in surger water. Have to pay 30.cents to buy a bowl for sharing. Veges are served in a plastic bag.

I’ve found this noodle place slightly different with the one at Surry Hills.
Condiment are prepacked at small plastic bag, consist of lemon, bean sprouts and also basil.
However this chicken pho is the best remedy for terrible weather in Sydney and surrounding today.
Protein they are using is Maryland, I prefer if they are using chicken breast because it just look more appealing.
Tucked away on the side of Hawker Lane, Westfield Chatswood’s Asian themed food court, is a Vietnamese casual eatery chain called Madame Nhu’s. My girlfriend was looking for something fresh to snack on when in the area so she decided to try the Shiitake Spring Rolls Vermicelli. The presentation of the dish was exquisite for a casual, takeaway eatery and every element was carefully placed to give maximum visual impact.

Dined here on multiple occasions. GreatThe food is very fresh and well-presented. Pho is ok, not outstanding however in comparison to other Viet places I've been to.
The rice paper rolls again are very fresh, however the taste is very lacklustre.
More importantly, the customer service isn't anything to rave about- the staff are always fairly sullen.
I provided feedback today on the quality of the rump in the beef rump rice paper rolls and the staff member I spoke with didn't even attempt to apologize or offer me an alternative menu option to compensate for my negative experience. Based on this, I won't return here again.
Very average pho (pho dac biet and pho tai) at a standard price.
Very sweet as mentioned by other reviewers although I did not think there was much MSG.

Neatly assembled takeaway.
I would probably not return for a second visit.

Was very excited to taste this Pho place, but was disappointed, the soup base was overly sweet which most likely had MSG. The noodle was breaking apart, very short and all broken up.Service wasn't the worst, but wasn't the best. Not much emotions, but understand as it was a busy day for them probably.

We had the beef pho and chicken pho along with rump steak rice paper rolls .
Overall it was average . Fine for food court level food .
Broth wasn't hot enough . Tasted mediocre . I liked the condiments given separately in a bag .
My brother enjoyed his beef pho and also the rump steak rice paper roll .

Madam Nhu in the city used to be my regular lunch spot until I moved to Chatswood. Now I come here. They're famous for pho for a very good reason. The broth is deep and flavoursome, the noodle is slippery and well-cooked and the Tasmanian beef brisket is soft and tender. I also love the quirky ambience of this food hall.

I've been here a couple of times now. The first time I thought it was fairly tasty pho. I went back tonight and was really disappointed- my pho was just luke warm, which I really don't like. The noodles were really overdone and soft and broth was also a bit too salty.
Perhaps it was a one off mistake, but i doubt I'll come back.

Pho is one of my favourite things to eat during winter, so I decided to try Madame Nhu's pho one night. I had their signature 3-style beef pho. The soup wasn't the better ones I've had but ok. Serving size was average but not that much topping. Unfortunately, noodles were a no go for me - it wasn't smooth and silky at all. I probably will not go back.

Chatswood has a pho-drought compared to many other suburbs saturated with quality Asian food. Which was what made the opening of this place rather nice! :) This pho comes thoughtfully with a ziplock bag of the usual bean sprouts, a good helping of chili, basil and lemon slice. Don't forget the hoisin and chili sauce! They are by the side of the counter. Quick and easy comfort food with good flavour. Hearty soup stock. Will be back pho sure.

Have tried this twice now, and both time is disappointing. Had the standard Beef Pho on first visit. Nothing too special about either the broth, the meat or noodles. The serving size was small for the price. For the second attempt had the Spicy Pho Chua with Rump Steak. The broth was not spicy at all, instead it was more like a sweet & sour soup. The "steak" was really in the form of a steak with most of the meat served in one big piece stuck together, negotiating that with chopsticks & trying to dip it with sauce was a challenge! Overall, it is just a Food Court & this is fitting Food Court level food.

I’ve followed Madam Nhu on her worldwide adventures for a looooong time on Instagram, and it’s nice to see that her staff is bringing Asian hospitality to her new stall. And no, it’s not a nice way of saying that they chat amongst themselves and ignore you. No, they were an absolute delight, and all smiles in the face of unending crowds.

Madame Nhu has been serving Vietnamese food to the people of Sydney since 2007.

Now boasting five locations, their latest is part of the foodie enclave of Hawker Lane in Westfield Chatswood.

Madame Nhu highlights that they were the first to bring vietnamese summer rolls to Sydney back in 2007.

We tried them on our visit and they were delicious. The fresh crisp flavours shone through and the dipping sauce added some extra intensity.

It's so easy to see why these are so popular, but they have plenty of other choices there as well including a wide range of pho.

Madame Nhu in Chatswood is just as good as her Surry Hills eatery! Don't be fooled by the fact that it's in a food court/ food hall. Got my favourite tassie thick cut brisket pho here and it was delicious!

Not bad, your classic pho, the soup was really nice but the noodles were a bit hard, expect pho to be smoother and the meat was a bit chewy, not raw enough for my taste

Not bad overall but nothing to rave about

Ordered the signature 3 style beef pho..... for $13 the portion quite small so for young growing gentlemen will need additional substitute......

Soup flavour has substance but not punchy, the beef quality is really good, one of best I had in Sydney but the beef balls bit disappointed seemed to be off the shelf items..... However the noodle was another disappointment, not smooth and bit wide..

Will I order same dish again??..... maybe not until I tried all other stalls
