I actually come here all the time and this time we have more friends to share with me we have ordered a range of appetisers, mains, and event desserts. This Chongqing restaurant serves authentic small dishes that you can find on the street.

Deep fried crispy pork – crispy on the outside and the aromatic pork strips was great to go down with some iced drinks. Great for sharing

Wolf teeth potato chips – probably one of my favourite appetisers on their menu because it’s finger-licking good with the aromatic Chinese 5 spices wrapped around each piece of crispy chips.

Crispy veggie combination – something healthier from this crispy crunchy mixed of veggies. There was some celery, nuts, carrots, and black fungus.

Spicy sliced beef & ox tongue – in Chinese, we called this couples slices because it is a medley of beef meat and ox tongue slices. It’s a classic to enjoy and the numbing spice was almost addictive

Steamed chicken with chili sauce – I love how tender the chicken meat was, the chili sauce was spicy but it’s not too much that you can’t eat. The chicken skin was actually the best part of it if you don’t mind extra calories and fat in your diet.

Tomato soup noodles with fry omelette - a Hong Kong home cooking dish that every mum would know how to prepare. The egg omelette was fluffy and was cooked separately, and then the tomato paste was poured on top. That sweet and sour taste really reminded me of my home town!

Spicy dried wonton – the wonton skin was almost transparent thin, and the spicy oil was on point! After a number of spicy dishes, I still found that each of their dishes deliver a slightly different spice and taste, which you can see their passion that they put in the food.

Pork mince & peas noodle – this dried noodles was surprisingly just as good as the soup noodles. It was a bit similar to the signature noodles but extra mung beans paste, scallion, and crunchy peanuts on top. It felt like it was not as spicy because it wasn’t served in their piping hot soup.

After a cocktail of spicy dishes, we needed some sweet and chilled desserts to cool us down. Again, their dessert options were classic and refreshing.

Brown sugar rich curd - this dessert has become pretty popular lately in Chinese restaurant, and it’s made with a compact rice cubes, and brown sugar syrup was then poured on top.

Sweet red bean smoothie with Tangyuan – Tangyuan is a must when it comes to any celebration in Chinese culture. The tangyuan was very chewy from the glutinous flavour. And the sweet red bean soup balanced perfectly with the rice balls.

Iced Jelly – lastly, these iced jelly was often offered at Sichuan or Chongqing restaurants. It’s served at the end of the meal to refresh your palette.

Once again, we had a great meal at this underrated Chongqing restaurant in Chatswood. The restaurant has pretty good service and staffs were pretty attention. I found this restaurant great for just dining alone or with a bigger group of friends and family for an affordable celebration.

First of all, how can you not love the name of this restaurant? Meow Po – directly translated to cat grandma. Who’s Meow Po? There is a status in the restaurant of an old lady making noodles and that’s where the name of this restaurant is coming from.

Meow Po is a Chongqing restaurant which spicy housemate noodles is their specialty. We have tried a few dishes at their Chatswood branch (right next to Chatswood Chase on 88 Archer Street). Their noodles are super chewy and fresh, therefore all the amazing nutty spicy sauce got hung onto each string of noodles.

We tired their signature “Chongqing Street Noodles” which has some minced pork meat and nutty peanuts spicy sauce. You may even choose your desire spiciness in each bowl of their noodles. I liked how it was a dry mix noodles but it was not sticking together. Everything was just right and the taste was very well balanced!

Then we have also tried their newly launched dumplings. A dozen of these dumplings with pork, prawns, egg, chives, for just $14.8! They use different skin for these dumplings, including spinach and just plain flavour. These dumplings tasted very authentic to me with the skin at the right thickness and the pork filling at the right taste. It reminded me of the

I will definitely come back again for more noodles, spicy side dishes, and desserts. Also, they have some really good groupon deals happening right now. Go and experience some traditional Chongqing food now!

Staffs are friendly and helpful. They updated the menu recently and you should come and try something new. Tomato soup noodles and sweet red bean smoothies with tangyuan are my favourites now.

Great location just opposite chatswood chase on 88 Archer street. It's clean and service was excellent. A guy stands by the door to greet you and also he helps clear tables etc. We ordered the beef tendon noodle, burning noodle, deep fried crispy pork ribs and fried ice cream for dessert. Both noodles were ordered at mild spice level.

The beef tendon noodle was well balanced and the beef tendon was generous. The burning noodle dish was my favourite.. nice balance of salty and spice. We had our 3 year old son with us and he ate the burning noodles. He can take a bit of spice so he was fine but if you have kids sensitive to spice you'll need to check to see if they have non spicy dishes. We didn't look for non spicy dishes for our son as he can eat chilli spicy dishes. The deep fried pork spare ribs were nice but better as tid bits with beer. My hubby wasn't a fan as he didn't like the large bits of schechwan pepper in it. I thought it was ok. Need to eat with fingers though as it's small pieces and a bit fiddly. The fried ice cream was so delicious! Would have been nicer if freshly fried but it was still yum. My son ate most of it!

We'd definitely come again. Great place if you like schechwan pepper.

Also great to find a place that has fried ice cream on the menu and actually have it!

Pretty good, tastey and good level of spice. Very popular during lunch time. Needed to wait two minutes for two people. The light above my head is too bright and hot though

The signature spicy noodle is good. Will come back for the noodles.

But I feel that the pig tongue I ordered is not fresh.

But the desert is not worth the price($3.8),I feel like I can finish the desert within 2 teaspoons.

Btw the service is good and fast.

Ordered:
1. Chongqing street noodle - average
2. Spicy bean jelly - I did not like the taste of this
3. Tomato beef noodle - average, not much taste
4. Spicy beef noodle (mild) - this is the best dish out of all, full of flavour and just the right amount of spicy for me

Will I go back: yes for the spicy beef noodle

We came here after a friend from Ching Qing recommended this place to us. Doesn’t disappoints. Ordered pork intestine spicy noodles, cold jelly noodles and jelly dessert (a perfect end to our fantastic meal). Super friendly staff.

Simple food at good prices. For the noodles you can choose the spice level, mild is actually quite spicy. Soup is on the oily side. I wanted to order a number of different items on the menu that looked interesting but they were all sold out sadly. They have promotions on the liven app but only allowed one voucher per table, which was not a T&C listed on the app.

Go to place when I crave some noodle soup. Their chicken noodles soup is the best. The broth is so soothing and hits the spot on a cold rainy day!

Really tasty Chongqing noodles, the spice levels are adjustable so everyone can enjoy it. The serving size is very generous. The staff are also very welcoming and there is a lot of seating available. The dessert is also nice.

Great place to have some spicy beef noodles, thought it was closed but glad that it's reopened. Noodles are slippery, beef is tender and spice is there. Highly recommended and great price!

Named after the southwest region of China, this newly opened restaurant brings you authentic flavours of ChongQuing, right in the middle of Chatswood. Dishes are full of flavours and spices and can be cooked to match your chilly tolerance level. There are plenty of vegetarian options available with a good desert options. If you are into freshly cooked flavoursome spicy Chinese food, this restaurant is a must visit. It is located within walking distance of Chatswood Shopping Centre and Railway Station. To make things better, their prices are about half of that you would expect to pay from a similar quality restaurant with large servings.

So yummy. Asked for a recommendation and had the Traditional noodle dish (cheapest on the menu), it was great. Level 3 spicy was spicy but so very approachable. The broth was just delicous and the noodles were nice and firm without being al dente. Recommed the deep fried pork its great value under $10. Highly recommend - I will definitely be going back.
