This is the first time I've had non-all you can eat hot pot. I'm usually quite 'cheap' and don't think it's worth it, but with a little money to spare, we decided to try this place out.
Being a Chongqing numb and spicy hotpot joint, they have very different things on the menu - black beef tripe, giblets, duck blood jelly, beef aorta etc. However a lot of items were also crossed off, which is a little disappointing.
The mala pots are spicy and oily, very authentic. The sauce is no longer self-served, which is cleaner under COVID regulations.
We ordered way too much, but got to try different things on the menu. Each portion is much bigger than we’ve anticipated. The giblets and the black beef tripe is very delicious and tender. Beef and lamb slices were fresh and not overly greasy. The tofu combination was interesting. There are still so many things I'd like to try and I won't mind coming back. We were able to take away the leftovers.
We did end up with a big bill but we also ordered a equivalent of 4-5 peope's worth of food :p The place is nice and clean. It would be better if we came with more people.
Memory Tongue hotpot is located in Chatswood Interchange that serves Chongqing Hotpot. Chongqing cuisine is known for their spicy and numbing flavours (mala). We love going to hotpot during the winter as it warms up our body, improves circulation and sends us to a food coma afterwards :P. There are plenty of meats, seafood, cold dishes, fresh vegetables and various fungus to choose from. Rolled aprons can be found on each table to keep you clean and smell free throughout the whole experience.
Been here probably my 6th times and just loving their flavour and friendly service. The price is decent too compared to other places. Great Value for awesome meal.
