Wide choices of food.
Got my prune cake , serunding& lepat kacang, tried the prune cake was awesome, bring me bck straight to home!!, thanks miah your cake was super delicious , cnt wait to try the rest tmwr
Love their satay, Taihu goreng, mee goreng, nasi lemak and rendang! Very warm and friendly staff and always so welcoming and accommodating. Very family oriented.
This place transports you back to a typical open food court with ample canteen-like seatings situated along highways in Malaysia.
Ordered two plates of nasi lemak with boneless chicken chop and rendang sauce and curry sauce each. The rice was fluffy and had good santan in it. The sambal, true to its name was sambalicious although it would have been nice to be abit more generous with the portion. Chicken chop topped with curry/rendang sauce was out-of-fryer crispy. Accompanying the mains were potato curry puffs which weren’t memorable.
In summary, will definitely be back for more nasi lemak or others from the menu as the experience has been delicious at Miah’s Sambalicious.
We were shopping at Lion City and stumbled upon these meals prepared by Miah's Sambalicious. We were blown away by the authentic flavours!
Their satay was very close to the real thing! No deep fried pieces of chicken here. The meat was tender and spiced perfectly. The peanut sauce was highly addictive. The Indian rojak was impressive. I have not encountered this in Melbourne before and I was very pleased with the sauce and fried items.
Will definitely continue to be a faithful Miah's Sambalicious follower!
Don't be scared by the near empty dining hall. This is probably because the eatery is located in such inconspicuous place. I thought this was going to be a disaster, but surprise, the food is freshly cooked and really delicious. Had the nasi ayam- fried chicken Maryland with garlic rice. The thigh meat was so juicy.
Since then I went back and tried a char kway teow. This was not the same as the usual Penang style, but once again delicious. If you like Sue'z Delight, you'd like this place. Just a bit tricky to find.
May not be the best Malaysian eatery in Melbourne but definitely comfort food for a Malaysian/Singaporean in the area. Not expensive and plenty of space available. I come every other week or when I need some malay food fix.
Miah’s Sambalicious is located just behind Rusdan Place on Normanby Road. You’ll have to drive up the short ramp to find the entrance, through the parking lot. Its not hard to get to, but its one of those places that you have to have been looking for to find.
The dining area has a food court / cafeteria style feel to it, but only has two dining stalls.
The way it works is that you place your order, then wait at a table. When it is ready, the dish is placed on the counter and called out for you to come and collect it before bringing it back to your seat.

Satisfying authentic Malay Malaysian food....
Something different from commercialized Malaysian food that we have in the market. It is different...

Love their chicken Maryland, I drop by really often after work just to take away their chicken. Service was also good, and cooking doesn't take too long.
Nasi Ayam, satay 7,mee rebus. Teh tarik.. Chicken quarter deep fried for 15 minutes. Steaming Bowl of soup! Yummy chicken was fried really crispy and the taste was just right, no taste of the salt but the chicken came out juicy and separated from the bone. The rice was steaming hot. To wash down with teh tarik. Finally my wife rated the satay averagely. Both my wife and I taste it as an eight.
Good cheap eat. This place can be really hard to find but is one of the little hidden gems in Melbourne. Great Nasi Ayam, Rojak and friendly staff. Bandung is a little bit watered down but the teh tareh and ice kachang are really good. Definitely worth a visit if you haven't already been.
The beef Rendang is as authentic as can be - true Malay taste.
For those from Malaysia/Singapore, you will know what I mean - the taste hits you.
I recommend the Nasi Lemak Beef Rendang.
The place is a bit hidden, you have to turn into the side street from Blackburn Road and then you will see the Signage repeated again and then you head up a ramp into the under cover car park which leads to the boutique food court.
My sincere review. Yesterday,We came to the counter where there is nothing in the Baine Marie but we could see picture display of asian food and the menu available for the day. The counter staff greeted us and i ask why there isnt any food on their front showscreen like normally other foodcourt would have. The staff explain tat they cooked it fresh. They will cook it wen we order. The staff is not pushy for the order and answered our quiries of certain menu ingredient. I was amazed on how the staff could know so much, unlike some eatery wer staff doesnt know wat they are selling.
I've ordered a few from the menu for my wife and kids. Price to me is cheap as its less than $10 per dish. We are told to take a seat and there are plenty of seats. We waited about 5minute wen our food is ready. Im absolute surprise by the generosity and delicious presentation of the Nasi Ayam and the
Nasi Lemak. We tried their Rojak and Ais Kachang, and they are terrific. We are pleased and will definately return for more especially trying their other food in the menu. I will recommend to most of my mate and family.
Food:Yummy food thats value for money, lots of variety, as close as your can get to malaysia/singapore hawker style. If your are craving for comfort food that takes you back to hometown, I recommend you this.
Price: For $15, I can get my self main dish (nasi lemak) + side (tahu goreng). I rarely ordered canned drinks, jus water would do. But you can throw in another $3 u get teh tarik. Thats a feast!!
$10 gets me a main and a drink, now i'm stretching my dollar.... sweeeeet....
Ambience: Ample parking space and seating, U can bring a few families and friends without having to worry about seating. Clean and neat too!
Service: The man who always wear the Man U jersey is great to talk to(I reckon thats his uniform). I rarely talked to the ladies (nothing in common to talk abt mainly), nevertheless they are approachable.

Absolulicious...maybe decentfeed haven't been to any other authentic Malay restaurants or those restaurants that tried to be authentic Malay, but Miah's foods are terrific. Pricing wise are decent compared to places that either charge less with minimal serves, or charge more but still minimal serves. A Nasi Lemak below $10 is great value anywhere in vic...i would suggest decentfeed to forget about prices in other countries' Nasi Lemak and face the reality of the costs of takeaway hot foods here, which selling price includes the high cost of labour( like other oz products) and expensive ingredients sourced here. Overall a fantastic range of Authentic Malay food for me! Go Miah!
Cheap Find. Came across this restaurant. THe owner is friendly. Portion is normal. not really big but the food is better than the average Malaysia/Singaporean food in Melbourne. Cheap price. Good service. Tried the mee goreng, charkeey teow, mi rebus, nasi goreng, nasi lemak. Everything was not bad. Tasty and pretty much what you pay is what you get. Didnt really enjoy the mee rebus. A little too bland and ordinary. Come here if you are looking for a cheap and simple food.
Mamma Miah's. I discovered Miah's Sambalicious after reading about it in a blog called "Makan Melbourne", and figured it was worth a detour. It shares a small food court with an Indian outlet, and a Nando's store occupies the remaining floor space. The entire arrangement is somewhat curious, as the "food court" is part of a building called Rusden House dedicated to student accommodation.
I tried the Nasi Campur (rice topped with various meats) the first time and a Nasi Lemak Rendang on a second visit. Have liked what I've tasted so far, and would return for a quick, cheap lunch.
Fruit rojak taste really good ! And it's very affordable price $5 for a supper snack. I love it!!!
Hawker Centre Food?. So I got invited to have a late lunch at this place over the weekend. It works out well as this was one of the new malay eatery place I wanted to try out. Once again, the place caters for the students living and studying nearby. The place is a tat hidden if you're not fimiliar with the area. Call it a food hunt. The place is actually a semi-food court? There's this place, an indian place and Nandos. This place does have a carpark next to it which is accessible by a ramp. It's actually a nice place to chill out. Now we had somewhat a set menu where Ikan Bakar(Grill Fish wrapped in banana), Eggplant Belado and Tom Yum Soup was on the Menu. Take away the occassion, the food was extremly delicious! Too delicious that I couldn't try anything else after. So what does that mean? That means I shall return to taste the rest. There's just something about a malay eatery own by malay cook by the vail malay women.
