My partner and I ordered the Chinese sausage, fried pork dumplings, fried spring onion pancake and Sichuan chilli beef.
Everything was cooked to absolute perfection, every bite was not full of oil but flavour!
Highlight dish would have to be the Chinese sausage.
The Sichuan beef is definitely a dish for 4 people not 2, but my partner and I still gave it a shot!
Great service and friendly staff!!
Will definitely go again
Pan fried pork dumplings, lemon chicken, schichuan chicken and Thai fried rice.. in the words of Julie Andrews.. these are a few of my favourite things..chilli oil they sell is amazing...
Nice place nice food nice customer service
This place always never disappoints me. The food is always so delicious and reasonably priced😋😋😋 #frieddumplings #sweetandsourpork #friedspringonionpancake #mapotofu 🌶🌶 #sichuanfriedchicken 🌶🌶🌶 . Highly recommended 👍
Literally the best. I called everyone I knew to tell them about this place. A lot of them had already heard - they’d been there! So I didn’t need to talk shit - we just had a catch-up. Next time we’ll be catching up at Wang Wang’s, though! Smooth and aromatic! Objectively the finest cuisine. And I don’t care if you disagree. Does 500 restaurants sound like much? Because that’s how many I’ve been to.
5* for dumplings, 3* for noodles. Prices, decor, service are all great, kombucha in the fridge, paper bags (although takeaway meals are still obviously put in plastic containers), haven't tried anything else of the menu but the main let down for me was the noodles, Singapore and char kway tiao were both bland. We still get takeaway dumplings regularly
After having "take away" almost once a month and dining in a couple of times, it is time to review this little gem!It is our favorite take away place in the area, well priced and only a phone call and 15 minutes to get your order ready.
We have our usual: Shanghai mini buns and eggplant with pork mince. The mini buns are amazing, the soup inside is delicious. The eggplant dish is our great discovery, it is spicy and mushy, so I wasn't keen at first, but now I will not have Wang Wang's without this dish. Besides those two, we usually get a serve of dumplings and some other dish (4 in total). We have dinner the next day with leftovers!
Dining in has also been a great experience, quick and attentive service. Gets busy on weekends but the vibe is really good.
Never a bad experience here!! A local gem!! Portion sizes are so generous and its fairly cheap. Love the pork pan fry dumplings off course and that spicy eggplant mmmm mmm!! The staff are so lovely too
A little place near Coles as it was fairly busy on a Friday night but the staff was very quick on getting us a table and were very attentive.
I ordered Peking duck noodle soup, Shanghai pork dumplings and chicken and prawn dumplings as my friend had beef brisket noodle soup.
I was really impressed with the broth as it was really tasty and went well with the noodles and duck pieces that I wanted more! Well done!
As for the dumplings it was really nice as well and I recommend to eat the Shanghai dumplings first before eating anything else as the soup inside is delicious when it is hot and ready before it cools down or else you won’t enjoy it.
Would come again and try other dishes!
The food and prices remind me of Shanghai Street in China Town, Melbourne but the service in comparison is like night and day - they are genuine and so friendly here. The menu is extensive and legit Chinese with a bit of Malay, the only issue you’ll encounter is deciding what to have. As first timers, we stuck to dumplings and recommend everything we had: Shanghai dumplings, steamed pork dumplings, spicy wonton dumplings, har gow, (siu mai not to my taste) and bbq pork buns. Three of us ate for just over $50 with drinks - thrifty! A bit out of the way for us but we were in the area and they were the only ones open on Easter Friday at 3pm! Looking forward to their handmade noodles, ma po tofu, minced pork and string beans, salt and pepper chicken ribs, and char kuai teow just to name a few! Well done guys, keep it up :)
So I finally decided to give this place a go today, after many years of living around the corner from it. And my, was I impressed! Service was fast and the waitress was very friendly and accomodating. Ordered the lunch special, satay chicken and rice, alongside vegetarian spring rolls and chicken prawn dumplings. The lunch special was delicious, but the dumplings in particular were amazing! Seriously some of the best dumplings I've ever had. The only downfall was the spring roll filling, there was quite a strong taste of ginger which I didn't particularly like. My boys on the other hand loved them and went for seconds. Highly recommended, and will be back again!
Good, cheap Chinese food - that's what you want. And you'll get it here at Wang Wang. If you're a local, do check it out. The home-made noodles were absolutely delicious. I won't stop thinking about them for the rest of my days.
What's the significance of the smiley face logos everywhere? Oh, it's just a representation of what your face will be after you leave :D :D :D
Great food and awesome service. Pork dumplings are my kids favourite. Their kitchen is unbelievable clean and tidy for an Chinese restaurant. Amazing. Good job
I've been here a couple of times now because I REALLY like their vegetarian fried dumplings. So many places screw them up and peas and corn inside (ew!) but these guys do a bang on job. The vege fried noodles and rice are also pretty good. It's a bit pricier but serving sizes are large - it's much cheaper to share with a friend or two of you want to try a few different things. Service isn't great and the wait is long which brings down the rating unfortunately!
Best place on earth. Love the homemade noodles and Thai fried rice. Amazing service. Out the front looks a bit dodgy but exceeded expectations.
Got shanghai dumplings, sweet and sour BBQ pork, chicken ribs, vegetarian fried rice and stir fried veg.
Veggies were all very fresh and still had some crunch. BBQ pork was amazing and all the food was really tasty and enjoyable. Staff were friendly too, overall very happy and would recommend.
Chinese broccoli a bit oily, but xiao long bao, clay pot, fried rice cake and hot & sour soup were all excellent!! Nice large servings and very flavourful. We have been coming here for a while and the slight changes in crockery and decor improved ambiance.
The most incredible home made noodles I've ever eaten. Couldn't resist ordering a second lot. Honestly delicious. Fresh and beautiful. Nothing like it around the area so it's nice to see it boom when it does!
Best dumplings in Melbourne! Great taste. Great price. Great service. Cannot fault! Also the Singapore noodles are to die for!!! Just get one of everything :p
Dumplings were so tasty! I tried the fried pork and fried chicken/prawn dumplings - both delicious, can't wait to try the other flavours. For $22 we had 22 large dumplings, such a great price! You are also given sauces of your choice - the vinegar and chilli oil are both great with these dumplings.
Service here is great and you're served with a big smile! So glad this place is local!
Good dumplings, a bit more expensive than the city, though a lot fresher and nowhere near as greasy as many I've tried. Really happy this place is nearby.
I've been meaning to try this suburban gem for some time. Whilst the seat to table height might be all wrong, the food is not. The satay beef isn't your usual Chinese dish but was surprisingly flavoursome, and they do a mean black bean sauce. Took home the huge portions in a doggy back which will feed me for a week. I'll be back for some more Wang soon.
Good noodles. Good hot & sour soup. Prices are reasonable, service is fast and good, close to home so it's a good alternative to the city. Eftpos minimum is $25.
As always the dumplings at Wang Wangs are delicious and prepared quickly! My friend and I both ordered the pan fried pork and were pleased with the size and quantity you get. The filling was nicely flavoured and wasn't plain pork mince, which I have received in the past. I got take away on this occasion and will definitely do it again.
You have to wait a while to get your food but the dumpling soup is worth the wait! They forgot to put our order through and had to be reminded after patiently waiting for a long time. That is the only negative I have as the food is always perfect
we like this place,
the food is normally very good
we have had one meal with soup and it was really salty but this is not normal
95% of the time amazing service
but some times they are so focused on cleaning the forget the customers!
Try the dumplings
and the BBQ pork in plug sauce
Yummo!
Great food, quick service with a service button on the table and very comfortable seating.. Happy! Recommended to all, especially if you love dumplings and chicken
The homemade noodles are amazing! So soft, melts in the mouth! Dumplings are big and delicious! Good place for a quick cheap meal, definitely worth more then priced!
While the location and decor are as cheap and cheerful as the prices, the handmade noodles definitely punch above their weight, as do the eponymous dumplings. If you get the fried dumplings or noodles, make sure you get something steamed to balance it, because they can be a touch oily. But oh. so. deliciously oily.
Another thing to try is the eggplant in spicy garlic sauce. We're vegetarian so I order it without the pork, and it manages to convert even my eggplant-skeptical kids.
Oh and another hidden suprise about this gem in the middle of the Cole's carpark is the wide assortment of imported craft beers and ciders. Who new that Old Speckled Hen and hand made Hokkien noodles were a thing?

Great homemade noodles, omg my favorite! Dumplings are good also. Large portion sizes, wow! The more the better. Tastey dishes i must say. Looks and location are deceiving
Great dumplings here, tasty , affordable and close to home. Also love their Chinese broccoli with garlic sauce. Give it a try. Thank you wang wang
23-JUL-15 : Had the fried rice with chicken and soy sauce together with the pan fried pork dumplings today and it was good. The portion of fried rice was huge and there were 12 dumplings per serve which made it good value.

Wang Wang Dumpling has no pretensions to be anything other than a suburban restaurant but it is friendly and clean with an extensive menu and delicious fried dumplings.
If it's dumplings you're after then it's the dumplings that matter. Not the view, or the decor, or the service, which is pretty forgettable at Wang Wang. But oh my goodness the dumplings! The xiao long bao and pan fried beef dumplings were amazing today. We also enjoyed the chive cakes and the salt and pepper chicken ribs. All good value. A good sign always when you leave thinking about how soon you can get there again.
Good food with affordable price. Always enjoy the food at Wang Wang, chicken and prawn dumplings, green beans stir fried with pork mince are my favorites. Gotta come back again!!
Went there with my boyfriend and didn't know what to think from the outside but inside it looks really nice and the vegetable dumplings are amazing and the spring rolls are good too :) thinking of going there tonight and trying out other stuff :)
Cheap and fun + BYO goodness. Although they aren't the best dumplings or even in my top 10, for coburg this place really isnt bad! customer service was suprisingly alright and meals came out piping hot and quite tasty. BYO is a plus, nothing better than loading up on some cheap dumplings and getting drunk while at it.
Singapore noodles...BANG! Yum
I REALLY LIKED IT! I went i.... I REALLY LIKED IT!
I went in there to day with my girlfriend, we only had a selection of mixed dumplings and loved it. I'm still thinking about them now!
Looking forward to going back next week.
If I was forced to say something negative I'd say "it would be nice if it was a bit cheaper $$".
Well done guys, love it!
Are we having Wang Wang?. We love Wang Wang! We love their vegetarian dumplings. The view from the restaurant is not the best, but get a take-away and go to Coburg Lake, while you wait, you can go to the supermarket for milk!
The beef with chilly sauce is fantastic.it is authentic Sichuan cuisine.its surprised for me.thumb up!
My hun and I were craving some dumplings - this was the closest highly rated in the area so we were excited to go. It was empty staff were in the midst of their lunch which is fine with me but it led to being served whilst food was in their mouth. I ordered the shanghai mini buns, spring onion pancake, fried beef dumplings and a chicken and rice meal. They were all very cheap eats which of course is a bonus. I've tasted way better shanghai buns, the soup was bland. When our plates were empty the guy never bothered to take the plates up so we'd have more table space. I would return because most of the food was standard-good for price. Wouldn't buy the shanghai buns again though was a little let down since they're my favorite. :)
MMM Filling and delish. Yum just came home from a dumpling fest with a friend. Chocka block full and totally worth it.
We ordered: Tom Yam (Tom Yum) soup, Pork Fried Dumplings, Beef Steamed Dumplings and Chili Soup (Chicken & Prawn) Dumplings. $33 all up (no drinks). We both left full and happy. Highly recommend for a tasty filling meal. Yum.
I love the dumplings! Awesome feast that my sister and I enjoy treating ourselves to. Don't be so hard on the waiter, he's probably been forced into working here by his parents, who wouldn't be grumpy in that scenario!
I like the food the lack of service and English is a worry.
It's a gamble if you get what you ordered. Always love a surprise.
Very tasty dumplings!! The fried chicken and prawn were excellent and the steamed beef had a really nice gingery kick. Yeah the wait staff are pretty ordinary but who doesn't expect that when you're out for dumplings? Steer clear of the soups though, the broth is pretty terrible. But all in all really decent!
Male waiters have the 'don't give a ****' attitude, but who cares!? This place has yummy food and is cheap and I don't need to go all the way to Chinatown or Richmond
Dont listen to the whingers!. Wang Wang is great, and we are very lucky to have this place in Coburg, I have never had a bad meal here, and I have eaten great Asian food all over Melbourne to be able to make a comparison, ie: CBD, Footscray, Preston etc .The staff are young, yes, but are extremely polite and give good service, (Its not the" Flowerdrum" you idiots). one thing I have noticed though is on more than one occasion, the rude ignorant customers they have the misfortune to serve. I have witnessed this a few times, and I felt horrified and embarrassed, most of the issues were due to a language barrier I think, and people just generally being rude and impatient themselves. Keep up the good work Wang Wang
Good dumpling. Good Chinese food
Dumplings in Coburg, LOVE. Lovely vegetable & beef dumplings (one serve fried one serve steamed) DELISH. We will be back.
Brilliant dumplings, excellent service. We eat in or takeaway at least once per fortnight. The service was slow at first, but has improved significantly over time.
The dumplings have always been delicious, a family favourite.
Visit Wang Wang if you're in Coburg!
Have been twice & great Steamed Shanghai Pork Buns (XLB) & Shanghai fried noodles. Will come again.
Convenient but not exciting. Located in the centre of Coburg, Wang Wang is easy to get to and if you don't mind the carpark vista, pretty good for a fast mid-week meal that's on the cheaper side. The chive pancakes, handmade shanghai noodles are dumplings are my usual dishes. I've also had the singapore noodles, and a couple of other vegetable items. They're average, nothing exciting, will fill you up and that's about it. I'd possibly try more, but unfortunately the staff do not have great english and whilst nice enough, that makes it difficult to explore and play with the menu options. If you have a group or a family, though the space inside is small, they can handle up to 8 comfortably. Its not the best chinese I've had, but I have been spoilt by the many good chinese restaurants I experienced in Perth!
Highly recommend the spicy sliced fish on rice, dumplings, spring onion pancake, salt & pepper squid. Don't bother with the pork belly!
Yum. I drop in here for lunch sometimes because I work nearby. The dumplings and noodles are yum! The service can be a bit so so, especialially if they're busy, but all up it's a good experience.
BEST.. DUMPLINGS..EVER!. I actually never liked dumplings until I tried Wang Wangs - now I'm absolutely addicted to them! Try the chicken and prawn or the beef ones as they are the best (I could have them every day), but the pork and the vegetarian are really nice too. Very unpretentious set up in the car park of Coles in Coburg - I first noticed the place by the amount of people always hanging around! Sure they are a little more expensive than in China Town but the quality is more than worth it.
Absolutely de-lish. Cannot fault this little hideaway. Service was quick and pleasant. Will be back again.
Great dumplings!. We had braised pork belly 7.5/10 ,fish & veg stir fry 7/10 and pork dumplings 9/10 ..my partner is chinese and this was the ratings she gave it after our meal.
food came rather promptly in rather close succession and have certainly waited much longer in asian restaurants.
will come back at some stage as its convenient to our suburb.
