Everything the pie place makes is amazing I drive from Melton just to go there
These are the most beautiful and the most delicious pies I have ever tasted, and they're made by the most lovely pie people! I feel that I am spoiling myself every time I buy anything here. And now they are selling fluffy, yummo, hot cross buns! The Pie Place is Coburg's little secret jewel, and I hope it's there for a long time yet! If you haven't found it in the little arcade at the top end of Sydney Rd - you're missing out!
One of the better pies we’ve have recently, with excellent pastry - light, tasty and well balanced. The sausage roll had slightly smaller meat to pastry proportion than we would’ve liked but was good. The curry steak was delicious, with an authentic curry taste and lots of saucy mince. The beef pasty was brilliant, a good balance of meat and veggies, probably the best pasty I’ve had in Melbourne yet. Lastly, the egg and bacon which was a little bland and dry compared to the others, would’ve liked some mince like the Ned Kelly. Vanilla slice had a tasty custard and good crust. Overall, excellent pies and would be keen to try more of their range!
Pretty pleased with this pie, especially given it was relatively fresh when purchased at 3:30pm in the afternoon. I got a steak and mushroom - pastry held up well, just the right amount of flakiness without making a mess, old school mince and gravy insides but in a reasonable quality kind of way. Could have maybe used a little more mushroom but that’s just a little quibble.
ETA: the cheese and cauliflower roll is really good too. It had spiral pasta inside which I didn’t expect but it tasted good! Pasty perfect again, best pastry I’ve had just about anywhere. Upgraded score because this place is legit.
I saw the baking now sign so I dropped in here for a quick look. This place is award winning... mmnn
I tried a cheese and spinach roll which was the best I’ve ever had... and I’ve had my share hahaha
Then I had a chicken and mushroom pie which was equally as good. Just perfect!!
Unlike many other places iv been to this bakery actually bakes during the day. Drive, walk or catch a tram but visits this place!
It’s in an arcade, but it’s well signposted.

Throughly enjoyed my cottage pie, my favourite type of pie this one was covered in creamy mash, and the meat filling underneath well seasoned. Super pie, great on cold winter days
The bacon and egg pies are absolutely divine! I sometimes buy in bulk and freeze the extras. They reheat really well. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up.
since moving to melbourne 7 years ago from beach life i have been longing for a decent local pie, i was told by some friends that this maybe the place. i bought chunky steak pepper and it really did not disappoint! lovely home made pastry! actual chunky beef (hate it when its steak ad but just mince!!!!) got a free donut too! thank you thank you now i can no longer long for the most satisfying cuisine. will be back on the regular :)
There's not much i enjoy more than a really good pie. Got a chicken and mushroom pie and it was delicious! I'll definitely be coming back again to try some others.
Fantastic pies made from scratch with quality ingredients. This family business has been here for many years and continues to make the best pies in the northern suburbs. My top tip for this place is to try the cherry pie when in season.
In this time warp mall are some great tasting old school baked goods at very reasonable prices. I cant believe this place isn't more popular.
The Meat Pies and Sausage Rolls. Don't Bother with the Apple Pies. The meat pies and sausage rolls are okay. The apple pies have the same unsweetened pastry which is thin and dry.
Absolutely awesome pies, i try and buy one every chane i get when i'm in coburg.If you love meat pies,give these guys a try cause you'll definately be back more, their vanilla slice and custard tart is pretty good too.

Great pies meat and chicken are excellent apple pies can do with a little more filling but still very nice great service been going there for more than 10 years if you want a good pie at a fair price it’s worth a special visit
Wonderful pies. I had the steak and mushroom and partner had the chicken and leek. The basics done right - just what you want in a pie. Had a nice little chat with the bloke who was running the place for the day who gave me a run down of this place and its wonderful family history. Fine ambassador for the business and will be back!
The pies, hot cross buns and service are 5 Star. Justin and the girls are great and the pies are the best.
I've tried a number of different flavoured pies here and each one is bloody amazing. From the pastry to the filling (and the service) is great. Justin always seem to remember my fav - steak n cheese. So if you're in the area, swing on by, grab a pie and something sweet, (don't get me started on the hot cross buns - you won't be disappointed.
I'm soooo mad that I didn't know about this place sooner! Just 5 friggin star awesomeness at this little gem. Everything is wrapped in delicate flaky light pastry and the fillings are superbly flavourful. I honestly think these are the best pies and pasties I've ever had.
Awesome and tasty pies! The wholemeal pie is just delicious, as well as the meat, chicken and cheese+spinach ones. There is plenty of options to try. Also the sweet ones are just as tasty. People in the store are very friendly and always serving you with a smile and great attitude. Will go there again!
