The care. Tge patience. The thoughtfulness. Very very very rare these days xxxx
Ordered a cake for my daughter's Christening and is was just incredible. Delicious, beautiful, reasonably priced. The staff spent time with me when I ordered it to help me decide what I wanted. I've never had so many comments on a cake I've bought before!
Hands down, the best cannoli I've tried in Melbourne. We also tried the custard donut, which was perfext - very fresh and fluffy with a generous filling. The staff are also lovely - very patient and friendly. This is a very special, traditional cake shop that I could not recommend more.
Beautiful little patisserie on busy Sydney road coburg. The quality is always fantastic, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the taste never disappoints. Cannoli’s are delicious but the doughnuts are the highlight.
I've always been very interested to go to this shop for years and finally happen to pass by.
I bought mini cakes and biscuits. They were all looked beautiful and tasty💖
Placed lovely sweets on plate at home and soon boys ate all except short bread.
It was slight moist and not sugary. It will be great with tea.
I will buy some more and share with my parents.
What a shame it is that this little corner store isn’t a bit bigger. It’s really the only negative thing I can think of. Nowadays we all seem to want somewhere we can sit in, chat and have a coffee while we whittle away the equity in our homes. This place isn’t really suited to that and I think it suffers for it. It’s definitely an order and leave set up. Back in the day it would have been ideal but now it’s kind of stuck in the early 90s. That being said, the service here is as good as it gets. Friendly staff who genuinely care about you having a good experience. The shop is cluttered but very clean. The cannoli here is the best in all of the northern suburbs hands down, and trust me I’ve tried them all many times!! The coffee is strong but very nice. There’s no hipster swans in the foam but it’s high quality none the less. The donuts aren’t really anything special if you ask me but they certainly aren’t bad. There’s a nice variety of cakes as well so there really is something for everyone. With a few other patisserie style places around like oheas or the Greek cake shops up the road it’s easy to see why this little place is overlooked. It shouldn’t be though. The cakes that come out of here are certainly far superior to anything else around.
This is the home of the perfect cannoli! Absolutely delightful range of Italian cakes and pastries and hot and strong coffee. The staff here are so nice and helpful in every way possible.
Now I understand why my partner stops me from entering a patisserie or bakery; I am like a kid left alone in a chocolate shop. I eat with my eyes instead of my stomach or brain. After buying $38 worth of cannoli and such, I'm sure I'm all set for the week. It's pricey but it's oh so delicious. The crunch from the shell of the cannoli and the custard that oozes out - that's bliss. The little cornetto cones are deadly - you can't stop at just one. One thing that caught my eye that will make me return is the coffee and cake deal for $5.50. The slice of cake is a lovely slab of art. And the ladies behind the counter have the patience of saints - trust me, I push people's patience to the limit when faced with decision-making about what pastries/sweets to buy.
"...FABULOUS AUTHENTIC ITALIAN PASTICCERIA..."
I don't get to Sydney Road often, but when I do...like today...I must get cakes at TRIVELLI PASTICCERIA in Coburg....
There are 3 MUST HAVES..!!
1. Ricotta Pasticci - beautiful creamy citrus scented ricotta filling inside a multi-layered crisp light pastry dusted with icing sugar
2. Cannoli - we love the custard filled ones - especially the vanilla custard - and the shells are always fresh, and always crisp
3. Gemelli - large Italian ring doughnuts - these are just so unbelievably good - they're fried in an olive oil blend and lightly sugared - they have a wonderful wet dough texture, fabulous aroma and gorgeous flavour - just so delicious, both warm and cold.
Anyway the cakes here are not a cheap eat..they're quite special..and their price reflects this..today I bought 4 gemelli, 8 canolli and 2 pasticci - $50 exactly..but WOW..worth every single cent..
It's an old-fashioned..traditional type Italian cake shop..no coffees made here..it has always solely existed on the quality of it's wares..and that's certainly saying something....!!
Visited on the afternoon of Sunday 20/09/2015 for cakes to take home.
Unbelievable doughnuts. Wow, wow, these doughnuts are unbelievable. Really yeasty and dense and just sensational. I bought a mixed box of items, and I'm so glad I chose the mini doughnuts filled with a cream with a little bit of jam on top. Next time I'd love to try the ones filled with nutella. The cannoli were very good. I prefer the non-ricotta filled ones but bought a sample of the piped cream ones and ricotta ones for comparison purposes. They are everything cannoli should be - thin, crisp pastry and smooth creamy filling which isn't overly sweet. They're really good, but I know what I'm going back for - the doughnuts.
I'm eating their cannoli now. I haven't eaten as many cannolis in my life as I wanted to. Part of that is because my Xwife was a fanatic about how cannolis had to be fresh, or they shouldn't be eaten at all. Therefore, for 10 years of food-rule obsessed matrimony, I rarely got take-home Italian pastry flutes. Uno by uno, though, I'm making up for lost time. That's why I got a chocolate one from Trivelli on a pushbike-riding day across the northern suburbs.
And I didn't eat it right at the bakery. I pedalled around all afternoon with it in my backpack, bouncing around, subject to temperature changes, all sorts of non-freshening things. Just because I could, with no bitching! When I ate it at home with coffee from my Italian machine, it was still good. Crisp crunch to the shell. I prefer ricotta filling in cannolis, but Trivelli pipes in cream instead. It was softly chocolicious. Next time I go to Trivelli, I'm going to get TWO cannolis and bring them home and leave them in the fridge for a couple of days before I eat them. Just because I can!
Fantastic cakes and biscuits. Best in Melbourne.
Thank you to the team at Trivelli’s for going above and beyond to help my hubby arrange a continental cake for my birthday. He drove from St Kilda and they made a special call to bring in the cake decorator and create a cake without notice. And it was delicious!
Love everything about Trivelli's. Amazing biscuits and cakes, lovely coffee and fabulous staff - they always make me feel so welcome. It's one of those shops where you go in, planning to buy a couple of things but come out with your arms full of wonderful things.
Absolutely beautiful and gorgeous staff and coffee...and cakes mmmmm yummmmmmm
Cannolis and donuts were pretty good. Staff was very nice, excellent service.
A wonderful store offering the most delicious authentic Italian sweets, and some very yummy savoury options also. Its remained a personal favourite for many decades :)
