We have been buying and drinking the Rose for years now. It is one of he best we had had. My wife and I flew to Yarra Valley for their 40th Anniversary at the beautiful winery on Saturday. The master class they put on was heaps of fun with a lot of very interesting information learnt. I must admit I was schooled with only picking 2 from 6 from each section!!!! Lunch was superb and the wine excellent to match. Cheese platter was a sight to behold also. A 5 litre of 1995 Taltarni Cab Sav served to all the guests was a very nice touch and not to mention a very good drop!! Dominique and Ben were both extremely polite and made a point of greeting and having a chat to all that attended. Both my wife and I were very impressed with the day, wine and food and of course we will be going back.
We've always loved Dominique Portet, way before kids. I remembered hubby and I on several occassions, ordered a beautiful platter, couple of bottles of wine, sat out on the lawn and played backgammon, sometimes till after it's shut! Love it! Low key, romantic venue, oh so french provincial & beautiful beautiful wines!
What an amazing place for a wedding 😍❤️ the ambience is simply beautiful, and not to mention the food too 😍 I will definitely be back here soon.
We had a lovely lunch for my parents wedding anniversary. Jason took great care of us, food was delicious and very reasonably priced.
This was my favourite winery and restaurant in the Yarra Valley. The food is simply to die for; simple, tasty and well done. I would recommend the Octopus salad and the steak frites. Beautiful views overlooking the mountain and a gorgeous French provincial style reataurant. I will be coming back for sure.
Beautiful little place with great and friendly service, delicious food and wines. We’ve tried steak which was cooked very well and delicious chips with rosemary salt.
Market fish was kingfish with corn and peas which was so well balanced! So simple yet finger licking.
Staff was very attentive yet not pushing you for something more expensive or unnecessary.
Delicious wines, good food, and lovely surroundings. Has to be one of our favourite wineries in the Yarra Valley. We enjoyed the steak frites and a lovely cab sav for lunch today. Cheers!🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷
Ok so we were looking for a place to sit back and relax, with great outdoor setting and views, somewhere peaceful. We found it! We ordered the charcuterie board, was good but nothing like the pictures here on zomato, alot less items on the board for the price you pay. Then we got the raw trout with mousse and salmon roe it was amazing! Coffee was to perfection, creme caramel dessert was yummy, French fries were abit meh because there was no sauce that came with it. Service was very friendly, and food came out quickly. All in all we recommended this place, and would definitely come back. Bookmarked :)
We had our babies christening lunch at Domenique Portet yesterday and it was amazing. The food was delicious, 5 start service, I honestly cannot fault it. I have been to the winery several times before as I love their wine but first event I have had there and will definitely do it
Eat there on a Saturday, beautiful simple food, great wine (must try Cabernet Sauvignon) Charming place ,they allowed my dog.. relaxing atmosphere .
Lovely little winery. Beautiful ambiance and delicious cheese platter. Wines were well priced-had a glass of the Shiraz and a glass of their Cabernet Sauvignon. Would go back.
Excellent surrounds , wine, food and service. you have to try the sav blanc 2017 and merlot. resonably priced for such perfection. This winery has been in operation since 2002. French elegance and heritage is all around. My twins especially loved runnning through the grassy plains and had no probelm trying the duck confit and pork belly which are their signature dishes. If you're just driving through the cheese platter is devine. goat, brie and cheddar accompanied by quince and various dried fruits.The cab sav was smooth and light as far as cab sav's go- we got one to go. highly recomended.
