Review New Thai Ruby - Coolangatta

Good place in Coolangatta for lunch. Food is alright. Coconut rice is too sweet in my opinion, curry does not look to be made from scratch, although ingredients are quite fresh. Customer service is ok. The prices for lunch are excellent. With normal prices 19-23 for dish I'd probably prefer Thai place in Burleigh

I am sorry, I am actually struggling to eat my dinner. If you have ever are authentic Thai food, this is definitely not what you would imagine. "Very sweet" taste to everything. Imagine a plate of nice veggies and meat covered in sweet chilli, maybe too tailored to "Aussie"Thai food. Pro tip don't order coconut rice unless you want desert rice pudding. BTW, what we ordered were cashew chicken, seafood combination Thai stir-fry, pork larb and coconut rice.

Waited at the 'Wait to be Seated' sign while being ignored by the staff. After 10mins, entered the restaurant and directly engaged a staff member, only to be told that she wasn't sure if they wanted more customers. The restaurant was far from full and an hour away from closing and the signs were up inviting customers in ... quite frankly, we'd have been happy to move on without reviewing or offence if the staff had bothered to communicate. Really poor service. Can't rate the food ... we chose to eat elsewhere rather than wait for the kitchen staff to decide if we were 'wanted'.

Shocking food, wasn't fresh by any means, my meal had hair in it obviously not on purpose although I was asked pay for half the meal with hair, clearly and naturally I refused, the wife/ owner was not happy. When it comes to Thai fresh is best, this restaurant I would rate 1 out of 10. Upset Customer. Word of mouth goes further. Give this place a miss.

Thai Ruby has the best flavoured Thia food I have eaten. It is made from scratch and the flavour certainly shows it. I love the service, food, price is low but mostly, so delicious. For a affordable great meal which will no leave you hungry at all go to Thai Ruby it is amazing

Entree was delicious but I’m afraid mains let them down.. I specifically ordered the bbq prawns as it came with lots of Vegas and a Thai salad (and images on menu showed generous serve) but in reality it was only a garnish. Very disappointed. Prawns themselves were well cooked however.

Disappointing.. I ordered the $10 lunch special and was told it would be 5-10 minutes, went back at 10 minutes and again at 20 minutes. Both times it was not ready which is fine except they didnt even acknowledge that i was at the counter until i rang the bell and was told it wasnt ready. Neither time did they give me a new estimate or appologise for the delay. When i finally recieved it 25 minutes later i was dissapointed to find that after waiting it wasnt pleasant at all. The taste wasnt disgusting, it just had no flavour at all. I mean maybe it was an off day but i wont be going back to see. A little bit of customer service can go a long way, and this place is definitely lacking. Wouldnt waste your time or money going here.

Food tasted ok, service was very slow and no extra seafood on the pad Thai like we ordered. Was astonished to learn there were only 3 prawns and 1 or 2 squid thingys. They compensated by bringing extra prawns out and were apologetic...a little disappointing but was ok
