Review George's Paragon Seafood Restaurant Coolangatta - Coolangatta

Took my daughter for her birthday, this is the Whiting and Chips! The garlic bread we ordered was overcooked served after main meal but this is not restaurant quality, not even close. It's not even what I could cook at home, as I can cook way better than this. No salad no dressing, tasted like boxed fish and frozen chips over cooked. The pasta was fine actually had flavour. The waitress was lovely tipped her for her saying sorry. What on earth has gone wrong with Georges? Where on earth is the quality control? Service was great in main dining, kitchen hello? We have cooks not chefs. Do not order the whiting and chips people. Did I complain and ruin her day, no?? Today is my daughters day so I didn't make a scene or complain as her birthday would be tainted. The waitress was lovely. Maybe she can find a job in a restaurant that serves restaurant quality food? Massive fail to Georges

It was lovely to have some river breeze on a hot day whilst dining. I always love their whole sole fish dish - a bit too buttery though. My husband did enjoy his seafood chowder as well - wasn't too creamy but thick and nicely seafoody.

Very very disappointed. It was my parents 60th wedding anniversary, and we wanted a nice family get together. So we tried to book a table for 8, no sorry we only book tables for 12 or more. My parents arrive first, and ask for a table of 8, we don't have any, we can give u two tables of 4, where we couldn't engage with each other. When we asked again, they said it would be possibly be a 3/4 of a wait, but we knew it would be later. We brought a beautiful cake to celebrate, only to be told we can't have it at the restaurant, we were lucky I guess they put it in the fridge for us. This restaurant was chosen because in the past the service was excellent, they'd walk u to the table, sit u down, offer you drinks and water straight away, last night we had to walk ourselves to the tables, keep asking for some table water. The food was tasty, but presentation wasn't the nicest, some of the food was cold. There was one dish on the menu that four of us were going to order only to be told that it's not available, it was 6 o'clock at night, it was busy, but early, how can u not have something that early on the menu. So a couple of us ordered King garlic prawns, I'm sorry they were not King prawns, they were bay prawns, it was tasty, I'm not faulting that, but don't advertise something that isn't, it came with chips, that were just thrown on the plate, a side salad would of been nicer. The staff were not as friendly, especially when we asked if we could get a 8 seater table, but our waiter always had a smile. Overall we were very disappointed, we will not be going back again!

The location on marina is beautiful. Dining options between formal, more casual on the deck or try pizza and wine at the bar. Everyone satisfied with their dishes, will be returning here soon.

I don't often write reviews, but there were a couple of negative ones for the same day, so I thought I'd put up a positive one to balance things out. Wonderful meal yesterday - I had the scallops for the entree, and the seafood crepe as the main, and my partner had the haloumi followed by the skandali (salmon with garlic prawns). Seafood beautifully cooked, and the crepe was amazing. Prices were great - two courses each, plus two drinks came to almost exactly $100. Only thing I would change is, like a few other reviews have mentioned, a side salad would be nice alongside the chips. I heard a lady at the next table say the same when her meal arrived. Waitress was lovely - we had a good chat about the surrounding luxury yachts. Also very easy to catch her eye, and the bill was ready the second we got up from the table. Huge queue outside, even on a Monday - suggest getting there before midday!

Our first time visiting and we will be back for sure. We had the most friendly and attentive waiter “Apa” , who made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our dining experience! Food and drinks were tasty and tender and well worth the price you pay. We would like Apa as our personal waiter every time we go there if we could, I’ll definitely be asking haha,Thank you again to our amazing waiter! 5 stars!!! :)

My partner's favourite spot in the gold coast to eat. Their food is delicious and the atmosphere is relaxing by the docks. Even better than the one in the city because you have free parking! Just get there a little early because the parking can get full.
