Fresh, tasty seafood cooked perfectly. Great place to stop on your way up or down the coast. Salty Dog cafe is part of 3-4 other places, but this one is essentially a fish and chips. Outdoor dog friendly area that on our visit gave us shelter from the rain. We had the fish burger and the seafood basket. Nicely cooked. Not too oily and full of flavour.

Our friends recommended us to stop by this small Cafe on the way to Port Macquarie. We are glad that we followed their suggestion. This cafe is one part of 3 different cafes sharing a compound. Salty dog Cafe serves fish and chips as well as burgers, stix etc. Pies and all day breakfast are sold at the other cafes on the same compound. We had the Big Dog pack (similar to a seafood pack) and garlic prawn on sticks. The food was really good and more importantly we found it fresh. So if you're travelling to or from the mid north coast, drop in and support these local businesses.

Stopped on our way to Forster and we were very happy with the food. It is not very visible from the main road, we almost missed it. Fresh fish and variety of options, due to time we only tried the Hoki and Whiting. Will definitely come back to try more.
