Came here for breakfast on Saturday morning. The place we intended to go to was full and after looking at the menu we decided to see what else was around. Cimbalino is gorgeous. Cozy dining. Plenty of seating. Service was lovely and food came out prompt. The servings were epic. I think we just found our new local! Loved it!
Cimbalano's at Eric Street in Cottesloe, has always had beautiful coffee beans. I only have three coffee's a week so am very fussy: Soy Cap is my usual. Over the years it really has depended on who the barista was or is. Currently it is a lovely young lady we simply call "Joey". Apart from being efficient, smart, and customer orientated, Joey is an outstanding barista. You can tell that she has made your morning coffee.
Apart from the coffee, Cimba's has the usual breakfasts and they have a good coffee-toastie combo for $10.00.
Cimba's in Eric Street was owned by the very efficient Vietnamese family who own Beaches Cafe on the Cott., beachfront. It's just been taken over by a former owner of Beaches.
Let's hope the standard stays the same or improves, and Joey stays with the new owner. Our coffee-loyalty depends upon it.
Good luck to the new owner; Cimbalano's deserves it.
French toast with lemon curd, biscuit crumbs and cream. Prefect sized portion not overly sweet for a breakfast treat. Would definitely recommend, one of the best French toasts I have had!!
Had checked out the menu before visiting and had decided on the pancakes, unfortunately the menu has changed which totally disappointed me. The current menu is pretty standard so ended up just getting the ham and cheese toasted brioche. Was tasty if slightly greasy. The chai latte was lightly spiced and seriously creamy..really delicious, so would return just for this!
My boyfriend had the eggs benedict with bacon which was very standard but nice. Coffee got a massive thumbs up from him also though.
The cafe itself is nice and open with lots of local ladies milling around for a post gym gossip.
Gotta love Cimba!! It's been here, and we've been going for years but just finally had the chance to review it. I ordered the porridge with poached pear and cinnamon. It was really tasty and comforting especially on such a cold morning. The poached pear was super juicy!
Early mornings consistent coffee - the menu change sufficient to tempt me back and a reasoning on price haven't occurred but ever hopeful. The wait and other staff have grown, have stopped the banging and shouting to customers two metres away and I didn't realise before there is actually music in the background? The trend on service is up, the quality of coffee remains high ... and now ... menu change? ... and prices? ... I Dream the Dream for Less (sic.) Miserables ...or goodbye?
Welcoming staff. Clean. Tables outside. Newspapers available. Good menu options - the porridge was delicious. Hard to choose. Coffee good. Juice was also delicious.
Visited Cimbalino this morning 9th October and was most impressed. Very busy indeed and the service, coffee and wait staff were the best ever. Absolutely faultless! This is how a cafe should be run. Will definately be back again.
"Cimba's" - as the locals cry - has a cult following among the fashionable and "semi-retired" crowd. Serving traditional favorites with a modern twist, the menu is carefully crafted to appeal to most tastes and dietary requirements. The standout feature is its coffee and friendly, yet busy, staff whom add a cool vibe to this trendy locality...
I was pleased that there was a healthy option on the menu and so for breakfast this morning I ordered the quinoa green bowl. The kale, asparagus and quinoa were cooked well but my poached eggs were a bit overdone and the yolks weren't runny like they should be. I also found my dish lacked seasoning, I needed to add more salt to it and perhaps a wedge of lemon or some sort of dressing would be nice, however the tomatoes did give the dish a bit of tartness. Overall I liked it and that I was giving my body good nutritious food that wasn't greasy or carb heavy. I also enjoyed my coffee.
My go-to for a Cappuccino. Strong enough, milk perfectly textured and plently of foam and chocolate topping. Always a pleasure to order. Thank you very much Cimbas!
Very friendly staff at this conveniently located cafe. I ordered an iced mocha and a protein ball - the two together was chocolate overload!!! The protein ball was absolutely delicious but would recommend having with a coffee. The iced mocha was soooo chocolately and more icecream than liquid so absolutely amazing if you're a sweet tooth but it was a little much for me haha!
Simply great coffee, consistent and a decent size cup so the 4.40 is actually good value. Yes you might have to wait because the coffee is great, they have a good system, dine in customers don't play second fiddle to takeaway like at so many places. They have a loyalty card and happy hour for coffee in the afternoon. Food looks good but I haven't sampled it yet .
Always the best. Cimbalino in Cottesloe is never disappointing! I'd always go back for their lovely breakfast :)
Is good, but can get too busy.. This place is a great cafe, but famously so, and you can end up queuing for ages.
Having said that, once you order, it comes out quickly and is EXCELLENT.
Brilliant coffee and top place for brekky!

Tasty Trendy and Efficient!. Great service! Cool cafe...tasty food well priced:)
They were really busy today but surprisingly coffees were served pretty quick and smooth! I love my Vegetarian Pumpkin Hash Round, Eggs, Spinach and Harissa Hollandaise! It blew me away! Quattro Funghi & Huevos Racheros wif Chorizo were on par with Typika! We are soooo coming back! Cons: super small tables and not having pretty patern on me flat white, which was something I was looking forward to :(
The main cafe is always busy on the weekend! Grateful for the take away bar next door (in the arcade that serves up coffee to go without a wait!)
Nice coffee and tasty muffin. Pleasant enthusiastic staff, glad I popped in to try
Portion Sizes For Ants! I .... Portion Sizes For Ants!
I had the porridge for brunch, it tasted amazing, lovely presentation. But I was still starving after I finished my meal-there were about 5 spoonfuls in it! For $10, I would much prefer a big fat bowl of comfort-food porridge, not a mini snack size. *sad face*. Good thing it was super tasty...
Great coffee provided you're prepared to wait in the lengthy queue (because of its popularity). Shame they don't do multiple sizes of takeaway coffee though.
Steak & Asparagus Sarni - hits the spot. A great brunch menu, very quick food service, and the steak and asparagus sarni (with carmalised onions) is delicious. Really nice lemon and ginger juice, perfect for a quick girls lunch.
Lovely relaxed area to enjoy the sun and get some great food. Juices, coffees, breakfast, brunch, a lot to offer and everything tastes great!
Categorically the best Eggs Benedict.. My husband tries every Eggs Benedict wherever he goes - anywhere in the world - and Cimbalino's is comfortably the best. The thick cut bacon, lovely toasted bread, perfectly poached eggs and in-house Hollandaise sauce make this an unrivalled combination of happiness. I always have the Bircher Muesli, because quite simply why would I order anything else? It is amazing. The roasted almonds and blackberries, oats in apple juice and shaved Granny Smith apple on top are a gorgeous combination. We love the place (in case you can't tell).
Just enjoyed the most amazing lunch with friends at Cimbalino's . I have been to most Perth cafes in all price ranges but none would beat this place. Fantastic venue , friendly staff, tasty food and beverages all at a reasonable price. The coffee has a Melborne touch of class ! Go and try it !!!
Best coffee. Lots of competition in the area, I've tried them all, and Cimbalino has the best coffee. Been going there for a few years now, sometimes the coffee is better than others( there are a few different Baristas), but I've never had a bad coffee there.
To the reviewer that complained about the warm but not hot coffee, well I think that is actually when the coffee tastes best - and my only criticism of Cimbalino would be that sometimes the Barista makes it too hot.
You only have to see how busy it - it's not in the best spot, it doesn't have the morning sun like a couple of the others, but most locals just know it is the best.
Had breakfast there a few times, and the food is great. Quite reasonable value too - well, for the area anyway.
Really nice food, particularly Eggs Benedict. My favourite in Perth. Needs to offer better customer convenience with PayPal and not only cash. Inconvenient and not consistent with modern consumer behaviour.
+++++ yes not walking distance to the beach but really great coffee accompanied with some scrumptious food!
Best Bircher meiusli! Everytime I come here I get the Bircher and a cappuccino and I'm never disappointed! This place is the best!!!!!! Highly recommend it to everyone!
Best coffee in perth! Always enjoy coming here but it's very busy so can get noisy! Also the line is always really long but moves fast.
Quattro Fungi- delicious. Have been here for brunch on a couple of occassions and love getting the Quattro Fungi, it is amazing, different mushrooms sauteed then topped onto toasted ciabatta bread with fetta, rocket and a balsamic glaze. It is great and just enough that you leave satisfied and content without feeling too full and bloated. Can't wait to go there again.
:-). Fab coffee and food, just wish I didn't have to wait in the looong line to order :p
One of the better places in Perth for coffee - nice shop fit out as well
Sweet corn and ricotta hot cakes were fab. Very quick service. No fuss, great atmosphere and good food. We'll be back!
Wonderful Coffee!. Consistently fantastic coffee and food! The bircher muesli is still the best I am yet to have found across the country!
Prompt service. Cramped inside seating. Nice coffee and food is very tasty.
Cash only, no cards accepted
Cool Set Up. Either Cimbalino or Vans is the place to be seen on Napoleon Street ... they are always packed. The coffee here is good and has not dissapointed in the past. Recently I have eaten breakfast here and had the Huevos Rancheros, An Espresso and a Fruit Smoothie. All pretty Solid. The only downfall is the amount of students studying and taking up alot of room. Until next time ... 6/10
Soo good. Im a regular to cimbas, i go there a solid twice a week and i have never ever been disappointed with anything from there. great atmosphere, love catching up with friends here over the perfect coffee. best way to start any morning

Top spot. Decided to go for Breakfast on Saturday morning. Very busy Cafe. First time there so not sure if just you sat down or waited to be seated and if there was table service or did you order at the counter. A staff member advised us that we take a seat where ever and when we were ready we needed to order at the counter. The line was really long, and I thought this will take ages, but surprisingly the line moved quickly. The young girl on the counter taking the orders was very efficeint and friendly. The coffee arrived almost straight away and hardly any wait for the Breakfast. Service Excellent, Coffee Excellent, Breakfast Excellent.
Lovely staff, great coffee. I have been to the Eric St Cimbalino quite a few times and the staff are always so lovely, patient and accommodating. The food is good but the coffee is better. Always really busy with Western suburbs housewives but if you can get past there pretentiousness the place is great for coffee and a quick bite.
Amazing eggs benedict! Eggs were perfect. Highly recommended. Worth the $16.50 for sure.
Yummo. Always a favourite for coffee and bites!
I first experienced this pleasant cafe yesterday at around midday for brunch. Not only was the coffee hot and delicious but was served in record time. Less than 4 minutes passed before I received the most scrumptious bacon and poached eggs on crusty bread with a spicy tomato sauce. My wife had the scrambled version - it too, was beautiful. Needless to say, the secret is now out - I have a new favourite. Outstanding!
Thank you !. Thank you for consistently great coffee..... Makes bad days a little more bearable :)
Pleasantly surprised........ After having been disappointed by turning up to Gill St cafe only to find it doesn't open on a sunday (urbanspoon, please update your site to reflect this fact !!) we braved Napolen St. Didn't want to do Van's after some recent dodgy reviews and not to mention its exoribitant prices we gave brekky at cimabalino a go. Considering we got the last table in the place and the ordering queue was out the door we didn't hold our breath in eating soon
Surprisingly, coffees appeared in 5min, followed by food in 15 and this is on a sun 10.30. Outstanding coffee and the sweetcorn ricotta hotcakes with bacon, avocado salsa & relish was sensational
Well done. Will return
Very nice place. A lot of noise but it adds character. The numbers they give you make the staffs life hard given they can't see you and they walk straight past with your delicious looking food. All in all. Not a bad experience. Very nice coffee.
Cimba love!!. LOVE this place! Any morning it's always the same cool vibe! Coffee is fairly average, much prefer lemon down the alley but the bircher muesli is amazing, and a huge portion!! Eggs Benedict is to die for too! A must try in Cottesloe and very reasonably priced!!
Recommeded. Great coffee. I mean it.
Great coffee with strange rules about coffee being consumed in take away cups at tables. They even made me a new cafe latte...FOC. This time in glass with smile.
Best coffee in perth. Consistently best coffee in Perth. Consistent staff. Don't bother with the food.
I have never had better scrambled eggs anywhere. They are truly divine, and at $11 served with thick-cut ciabatta, excellent value. My only gripe is rock-hard butter, but very little to be done about that in Perth weather. Juices are generous and fresh, service is especially efficient, and the barista is an absolute star! A lovely alternative to Vans.
Looks like "cutty" has a shop near by? The owner dosent do advertiseing and your the only one who dosent like just check out the line all day long they cant all be wrong?? And "Tarapig" looks like your jelous of the rich? 4 bucks for good coffee isnt expensive dome is ten cents less and soo crap this siye is for reviews not grumpys with no taste or style. Its good and consistent nice staff that give a damn. 7/10
Best coffee in the city, period.
It was absolutely packed at 10am, though I was surprised at how quickly the line went. We quickly decided on Eggs Benedict, Poached Eggs on Toast and 2 espressos.
We decided to go to the Cottesloe Cafe strip ( next to the Albion Hotel off Stirling Highway)...
This time we chose Cimbalino, a non-descript Cafe from the front, but which hides a number of delightful alcoves inside ( apart from the seating adjacent to the streetscape).
And what a treat it was!!!
My guest enjoyed an avocado toast (which she put in the top 2 of those from her previous outings). While I devoured a corn fritters meal that was first class in the taste League..
I'm still savouring the delicate herbs and juices that gave it such a memorable flavour..
Friendly and prompt service....
delightful interior ....
and beautiful food....
Definitely 5 out of 5!!!!
One of the best buttermilk chicken burger I had so far !
I recommend this place 🤤
Great coffee, knowledgeable and friendly staff, cosy fitout that mixes modern touches with warm lighting and very green bijou al fresco area out the front. Well worth a visit.
French toast was a treat!!! Perfectly prepared and tastes amazing. Potato hash was a savoury goodness. Crispy chicken burger could do with a bit longer marination as the meat has the frozen meat taste, batter was good though.

I like the variety on the menu and the deli case. I've had the Field of Mushrooms (sauteed mushrooms drizzled with balsamic vinegar on a thick crusty slice of bread) and the Avocado and cheese toastie. Both were fantastic! There is also a small refrigerator that has some other take away items, like pre-made soups. Service is a relaxed pace, so make sure you go when you can take the time to enjoy the environment and your fellow diners. I adore the chef and staff here, they have got a tough job working at one of the busiest cafes on Napoleon street with minimal staffing. I love sitting out on the patio when the weather is mild and the sun is shining. Looking forward to discovering something new next time.
Had breakfast here with my family. I got a Bircher Muesli, with a side of bacon (put on my wife's plate) and my wife had an Eggs on Toast
I also got a pot of English Breakfast tea and my wife a small Cappuccino. Everything tasted pretty good and the prices were good. My plate was about 18, 13 for the muesli and 5 for the side of bacon. My wife's also about 13
