Came here for breakfast on Saturday morning. The place we intended to go to was full and after looking at the menu we decided to see what else was around. Cimbalino is gorgeous. Cozy dining. Plenty of seating. Service was lovely and food came out prompt. The servings were epic. I think we just found our new local! Loved it!
Cimbalano's at Eric Street in Cottesloe, has always had beautiful coffee beans. I only have three coffee's a week so am very fussy: Soy Cap is my usual. Over the years it really has depended on who the barista was or is. Currently it is a lovely young lady we simply call "Joey". Apart from being efficient, smart, and customer orientated, Joey is an outstanding barista. You can tell that she has made your morning coffee.
Apart from the coffee, Cimba's has the usual breakfasts and they have a good coffee-toastie combo for $10.00.
Cimba's in Eric Street was owned by the very efficient Vietnamese family who own Beaches Cafe on the Cott., beachfront. It's just been taken over by a former owner of Beaches.
Let's hope the standard stays the same or improves, and Joey stays with the new owner. Our coffee-loyalty depends upon it.
Good luck to the new owner; Cimbalano's deserves it.
French toast with lemon curd, biscuit crumbs and cream. Prefect sized portion not overly sweet for a breakfast treat. Would definitely recommend, one of the best French toasts I have had!!
Had checked out the menu before visiting and had decided on the pancakes, unfortunately the menu has changed which totally disappointed me. The current menu is pretty standard so ended up just getting the ham and cheese toasted brioche. Was tasty if slightly greasy. The chai latte was lightly spiced and seriously creamy..really delicious, so would return just for this!
My boyfriend had the eggs benedict with bacon which was very standard but nice. Coffee got a massive thumbs up from him also though.
The cafe itself is nice and open with lots of local ladies milling around for a post gym gossip.
Gotta love Cimba!! It's been here, and we've been going for years but just finally had the chance to review it. I ordered the porridge with poached pear and cinnamon. It was really tasty and comforting especially on such a cold morning. The poached pear was super juicy!
Early mornings consistent coffee - the menu change sufficient to tempt me back and a reasoning on price haven't occurred but ever hopeful. The wait and other staff have grown, have stopped the banging and shouting to customers two metres away and I didn't realise before there is actually music in the background? The trend on service is up, the quality of coffee remains high ... and now ... menu change? ... and prices? ... I Dream the Dream for Less (sic.) Miserables ...or goodbye?
Welcoming staff. Clean. Tables outside. Newspapers available. Good menu options - the porridge was delicious. Hard to choose. Coffee good. Juice was also delicious.
Visited Cimbalino this morning 9th October and was most impressed. Very busy indeed and the service, coffee and wait staff were the best ever. Absolutely faultless! This is how a cafe should be run. Will definately be back again.
"Cimba's" - as the locals cry - has a cult following among the fashionable and "semi-retired" crowd. Serving traditional favorites with a modern twist, the menu is carefully crafted to appeal to most tastes and dietary requirements. The standout feature is its coffee and friendly, yet busy, staff whom add a cool vibe to this trendy locality...
I was pleased that there was a healthy option on the menu and so for breakfast this morning I ordered the quinoa green bowl. The kale, asparagus and quinoa were cooked well but my poached eggs were a bit overdone and the yolks weren't runny like they should be. I also found my dish lacked seasoning, I needed to add more salt to it and perhaps a wedge of lemon or some sort of dressing would be nice, however the tomatoes did give the dish a bit of tartness. Overall I liked it and that I was giving my body good nutritious food that wasn't greasy or carb heavy. I also enjoyed my coffee.
We decided to go to the Cottesloe Cafe strip ( next to the Albion Hotel off Stirling Highway)...
This time we chose Cimbalino, a non-descript Cafe from the front, but which hides a number of delightful alcoves inside ( apart from the seating adjacent to the streetscape).
And what a treat it was!!!
My guest enjoyed an avocado toast (which she put in the top 2 of those from her previous outings). While I devoured a corn fritters meal that was first class in the taste League..
I'm still savouring the delicate herbs and juices that gave it such a memorable flavour..
Friendly and prompt service....
delightful interior ....
and beautiful food....
Definitely 5 out of 5!!!!
One of the best buttermilk chicken burger I had so far !
I recommend this place 🤤
Great coffee, knowledgeable and friendly staff, cosy fitout that mixes modern touches with warm lighting and very green bijou al fresco area out the front. Well worth a visit.
French toast was a treat!!! Perfectly prepared and tastes amazing. Potato hash was a savoury goodness. Crispy chicken burger could do with a bit longer marination as the meat has the frozen meat taste, batter was good though.

I like the variety on the menu and the deli case. I've had the Field of Mushrooms (sauteed mushrooms drizzled with balsamic vinegar on a thick crusty slice of bread) and the Avocado and cheese toastie. Both were fantastic! There is also a small refrigerator that has some other take away items, like pre-made soups. Service is a relaxed pace, so make sure you go when you can take the time to enjoy the environment and your fellow diners. I adore the chef and staff here, they have got a tough job working at one of the busiest cafes on Napoleon street with minimal staffing. I love sitting out on the patio when the weather is mild and the sun is shining. Looking forward to discovering something new next time.
Had breakfast here with my family. I got a Bircher Muesli, with a side of bacon (put on my wife's plate) and my wife had an Eggs on Toast
I also got a pot of English Breakfast tea and my wife a small Cappuccino. Everything tasted pretty good and the prices were good. My plate was about 18, 13 for the muesli and 5 for the side of bacon. My wife's also about 13
