Review Vue Restaurant - Cranbourne

30/01/2022 @ 12:30 Was a great experience to have! The food was a little pricey but well worth it, as was the atmosphere. Was a little lacking in service but probably due to popularity. Would certainly recommend you give this place a try for the above average occasion. For further details read below :- Customer and Table Service: Was very good, usual service was provided. Drinks to start, allowed 10 minutes to enjoy the conversation, asked for order, 5 minutes for entrée then 10-15 minutes for mains (very good). Only negative point, we were not checked on throughout the main course, however it was very busy at this time. Food: Barramundi Spring Rolls (Entrée), Bang Bang Chicken, Settler's Catch, Grass Fed Porterhouse with Peppercorn sauce, Caramel Praline Cone (Dessert) - Pictured Couldn't really fault the quality of the food, it was delicious and moreish. With the exception of the Porterhouse which i thought the potato gratin would have been larger, all plates were a good size for an eager stomach. The only exception was we did order a medium-rare, and received a medium-well, it was quite possible that we were misheard. Was still tasty with the sauce. Atmosphere: The restaurant has a very large scenic view of the golf course and a nice fine dining atmosphere. Very clean in its black, white and grey with wood grain. Additional: There is a dress code, no ripped jeans, no thongs or hats.

The food was excellent. Coffin Bay Oysters were spot on. They were genuine and fresh. Apart from the odd ridiculous nose sticking out above the mask, the staff were good. Green, not entirely logical, or knowledgeable, but courteous, polite and seemingly efficient. All dishes were good. Well thought out menu. Good choices, plenty of choices yet not too many. Chef knew what s/he was doing. Eye fillet was perfectly timed and served rare. It's unfortunate that this venue is the first one I've chosen to mention this next point: I honestly fail to see why I should pay restaurant prices and not get table service. Aside from the prices, it's a bistro and should be titled as such. Yes, the food was expertly cooked and presented, but I'd rather go to a restaurant if I'm paying restaurant prices, where I'd get table service and a pleasant atmosphere and decor. Also (small maybe, but not): The menu had an error where it states patrons get a choice of wine with the steak, where it means 'wine ju'. Added to that, when I enquired, they only had one Shiraz to offer anyway, despite a dedicated wine list that listed other wines. I wouldn't go back, but the food was perfect all round.

Quite disapponted that my group got kicked out of the restaurant and put onto the bistro. Since we were a large group we had to get the group menu. Whats really disappointing is the lack of table service. I paid restaurant prices for restaurant service and thought we were being accommodating to agree to be moved out of the restaurant so they can have their event. We were not made aware that my guests and party would lose table service and have to queue at the bar to order. I also found out later that many of my guests had all day sorts of mistakes with this orders and they just didn't want to tell me and they settled it directly with the bistro staff. Given other reviews, it sounds its pretty common for them to kick people out of the restaurant and onto the bistro without explaining what you will lose by they are still happy to charge you the same. The experience was embarrassing for me as a host. I regret booking this place to have my party. Would not recommend at all.

Can't review the food as we didn't get a chance to eat. We booked a small group, 3 weeks in advance for a 40th wedding anniversary, called 2 days to confirm the booking, then on the day 2 hours before our booking we were told they had a function that took up the whole restaurant and we could only be seated in the bistro. Very disappointing.

Very disappointing to be honest and it's such a shame because the food was actual decent. Now when it comes to service, well.... there was complete no service period!!! We were clearly not treated the same way as the others throughout the whole time we were there. No one came to check on us, when the food came, we had to ask for cutleries because the waiter literally just place the food down and left. It would be understandable if the venue was busy, but it wasn't and I know what busy is because I am a food and beverage supervisor myself. So disappointed, would not recommend it to any of my friends and families solely based on the way they treated us. You would think the in the 21st century people will be more accepting of others considering we live in a multi-cultural city but this just proof that's unfortunately this is not always the case.

Asked for no ham on our parma as we don't eat pork. Ham was still put and covered by cheese so didn't notice till the last bite. Informed the waiter whose apology was simply "Sorry, system error." Complete lack of awareness at the impact feeding pork to us had, she didn't even apologise sincerely. It was as if she had just forgotten to bring us a drink. We understand accidents happen, but if you are going to feed a plate of pork to muslims at least understand the severity of this issue and how we might feel after that. Educate yourself and do better. Meal was taken off the bill but to be honest it was the staffs lack of care that ruined it for us.

Great service, a good menu with Gluten Free options, a specials list and drinks at bar prices. Great servings, no excuse for walking away hungry. A little out of the way but well worth the visit.

The customer service offered by the young gentlemen here was exceptional. Gave us updates and was very attentive. The food itself tasted quite average. It was well priced for all the items that we ordered

We recently attended a function that was catered by Vue.  Food was good and service was friendly.  Have eaten here a few times and overall a good experience.

Mother's Day high tea. Can't fault the look of the venue nor the quality of the fare on offer. The only thing that let down our visit was that our drink order went missing and took sometime to get to our table.<br/><br/>Given it was a booked high tea and the day in question it was disappointing to see the venue was short staffed.

I have been eating here for a couple of years now as we live nearby. When we first moved to the area, we had some negative experiences at the restaurant, however for the past two years we have been very impressed with all of the meals and pricing. I love that they change the menu a couple of times a year too! I highly recommend the breakfast on the weekend- particularly the baked eggs and avocado smash! The atmosphere is a great community feel and the staff are always so lovely.

Had a terrible experience dining in this resto. Will never go back even if they gave us free meal vouchers to appease our disappointment. They made us wait for our meals for over an hour only to tell us that the order docket did not go through to their kitchen. It was our son's bday which was totally ruined because of their poor unorganised service.

Have eaten here a few times now and consistently disappointing. Few or no vegetarian options, boring menu. Overpriced and small portions. <br/>The staff although nice enough when you have their attention are not very attentive and have little to no knowledge of the menu
Lunchboy
Lunchboy. Lovely place, nice ambiance.<br/>We went to Settlers Run for Lunch we were very disappointed with the extremely small servings, salad was a few lettuce leaves.<br/>If you're looking at trying to encourage some recurring business, might want to take a look at your pricing compared to quantity of food on the plate, we would not recommend this Venue.
