Review Rangoon Colonial Club Restaurant - Crows Nest

What a flavourful menu! Everything is so tasty and made fresh. Whatever you order, you have to add the garlic naan. It’s a must! Also loved the setup! Very authentic.

Amazing food Plenty of items to choose from and price is reasonable as well. The service is good, staffs were friendly

Excellent Indian authentic food. Indian beer (kingfisher) on tap is sure to bring the old memories back. The veggie options are nice and so are the non-veg options like beef, lamb and chicken. Mushroom curry is worth a try. Portion size is average for the price but the taste is excellent. Ample of street parking (2P) around the street.

The food so so yummy and amazing. Great selection of food for fellow vegans. The food came very fast and fresh. The staff were all very amazing and had a great vibe - Maggie the waitress served us and was very welcoming and helpful. 100%. recommend coming here.

Order# 20126 - The fish in the whole tandoori snapper had already gone off before it was prepared. Just amazed that this restaurant has incredible reviews on google but someone's actually attempted to use fish that had already gone off. Overall quite disappointed with our takeaway experience from Rangoon Colonial Club. Just a fair warning to anyone ordering online from this restaurant.

I’m local and have been eating here since 2018 but the quality of the food has noticeably gone downhill. Don’t know if it’s change of ownership but the curry recipes are different (worse), the rice was under cooked and hard. Whatever has changed from 12-18 months ago, please revert

We had veggie food. The taste was just average, hence the rating. The veg korma was terrible. Also waiting time for breads was a bit long, so the curries were getting cold.

Delicious food, great service and a wonderfully themed fitout of an English colonial club in India. There is a reason that this conveniently located restaurant in Crows Nest has been a favourite of many for decades. We were recommended the Sultan Goat Curry and Goa Chicken Xacuti. Both were wonderful, but the Sultan Goat Curry was particularly memorable with its succulent goat meat and intense sauce. This was our first visit, and it won't be our last!

We came here on a Tuesday night and sat outside as we have a dog. The food was great- we ordered four curries, rice and naan bread. I highly recommend the vegetarian eggplant curry. The service was great however it was had to get the waiters attention as there was only one and didn’t regularly come outside to check on us.

Food pricey but excellent . Good service and decent crowd. One of its kind for curries. Try Lamb Dal and naan. Curries Full of flavours. Quite good options for vegetarian. Bar available.

Excellent food and great service, a little pricey. We rarely get the butter chicken but this was clearly made with care and skill. No Bain Maries here.

Over priced items, none of the menu items above average. Do not order banquet menu, limited portion of food. If you like the colonial decor and not actual Indian food, you can visit this place. Not recommended.

Crab on potato skins was disappointing- seemed like tinned crab on dried out fairly stale potato skins.
Fruit nan was lovely and Mountbatten Prawn were delicious.
The chicken masala unfortunately had 2 black hairs in it which was disturbing and ruined this dish. We pointed this out to the waitress who just smiled and nodded. Not sure if that was an apology or a dismissal.

The food was delicious, perfect amount of spices, served hot and fresh. Our favorites are the lamb Rogan Josh, chicken tandoori pieces, and the chicken masala. Only reason I am not giving them a 5 is because they are a little on the pricey side.

Dined April 2017
One of my favourite Indian restaurants in Sydney. Will usually visit 3-4 times per year.
I love their saffron pulao rice that can be used to accompany the curries. It is so fragrant! The saffron can be a bit uneven, however.
Naan (plain tried only) is always above average.

I rate all the curries tried over the last 6 months (including today's) at least well above average: ajwani fish curry, goan fish curry, mustard fish curry, elephant boy curry, beef vindaloo, butter chicken, sultan goat curry, lamb korma. Also diners can choose the level of spice in each curry.

I also really like the cocktail menu here as well as the ambience (colonial).

Ordered food for delivery tonight. It arrived quicker than expected however was not impressed with any of the dishes nor that one of them was missing. I think there are better options to order from.

Pretty good Indian curry! One of the best I've tasted in the northern suburbs. A bit on the pricey side but tastes too great to complain. If you like spicy curry make sure to let them know, they can add in so much heat which makes it taste even better! Try their pulao rice with the curries, it’s so fragrant and tastes fantastic with their curries. I usually get the saag paneer and Bombay brinjal.

It was a very nice experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food delicious. Took a bit longer than I would have liked between the entrée and the mains. Beautiful decor very pleasant. Would definitely recommend it to anyone. PS the fact that we had a toddler with us and needed some special assistance wasn't too much for the staff. That is always a plus for a young family!

Great evening of good Indian food done well. A varied and interesting menu, everything was delicious! Certainly capable of spicing it up for those that like it hot! Lovely ambience and very well priced for good quality!!

Great Indian, best in Sydney and closest to a good Indian from UK

Best Indian food I've ever tasted. Such lovely friendly staff who will remember your face every time. Restaurant service is a bit slow but it didn't bother us.

Awesome food!. I was invited to one of my collegues this weekend. She had ordered delivery for Fish Orley, Malai Murgh Tikka, Butter Chicken, Daal Makhani, Garlic Naans and rice.
They delivered it on time and food was warm, fresh and and delightfully flavoursome. I had never tasted such good indian food before. Everything rocked! Fish was so light that would melt in your mouth. Can't wait to dine with BF in their restaurant this week.

Food was tasty lots of interesting flavours but not overpowering like some. Worth the extra $10-20 you pay per person. Service was prompt and polite. Highly recommend. Being Crows Nest, parking is a challenge. Talk to the restaurant when you book.

Curry Hunt. This is the closest I have come to finding a decent curry house in Australia. It doesn't come cheap but is worth paying for.

Expensive for Indian, but the quality is good
