Review Rocco's Burger Cafe - Croydon

I've been hearing people talk about this place for a while now, so thought it was finally time to give it a go and I tell you what, I am so glad I did. Got a gluten free burger with the lot, minus the onion and beetroot and OMG it was so delicious. The only disappointing part was that the chips are not gluten free because they are cooked in the same oil as everything else, so I was not able to get any chips on the side. But despite that, whilst Croydon is a bit far from Geelong, I will definitely go back the next time I'm anywhere near the area. Although, next time I might just order in advance, as it did take 20 minutes for the food to come out. But in their defence, they do have signs up saying they are short staffed at the moment so highly suspect this could be the reason behind it.

Vey nice staffs, my favorite is Carser salad , also you can DIY order your own favorites . Very beautiful pond beside outside tables, good to relax there.

Tried a fried chicken burger (the hotel California) and some gems, with an iced coffee. Girlfriend had avo toast with eggs and a cappuccino. Everything was fresh and tasty, coffee tasted pretty good too, large servings all round. Place has indoor and outdoor dining, nice and shady under the umbrellas. Had seen others complain about this place being slow service and overpriced. Doesn't match our experience at all, service was quick enough and the prices are about what you'd expect from a burger joint of this quality.

Food was amazingly good. The onion rings were on another level. GF bun on the burger was great. And nude was a massive meal. No alcohol which would mean that people wouldn’t hang around. Staff were nice. Have had breakfast from here as well and was fantastic. One of the top 5 burger places in the area. Will be back.

The cheeseburgers here are good, though prices can be on the expensive side. Would recommend going for the cheeseburger. They also used to have another amazing burger that we've been hoping they'd bring back. It was full of mushrooms, Japanese mayo and sesame. It was something you couldn't find just anywhere, and we've been craving it since they changed their menu.

Used to be good, but not anymore. Waited 45+ minutes for pancakes, fries, and a croissant. Fries were cold and stale by time we got them. The waitress also couldn't comprehend how to make any changes to the menu even though it would have resulted in nearly double the sale and was a simple bread swap and bigger pancakes. Probably not bad if you're JUST getting coffee but pretty disappointing place to spend a nice Sunday afternoon with your family. ☹️ I get that some businesses are struggling post-lockdowns with kitchen staff but even still this wasn't good and we would neither come back nor recommend.

The burgers we got were decent sized and not bad. The fries however, for me, were a miss. I'm not a fan of the seasoning and much prefer plain salt. I would eat there again, but I'm not in a hurry to do so

Waitress completely stuffed up our order, ordering 3 lots of chips for 2 people when we only wanted one, kitchen delivered cold chips, and a beef burger rather than fried chicken, and another burger was also cold. Even after removing all the extra chips, the final.bill was still overcharged by $2. Possibly the most independent mistakes that I have ever had linked to a single meal. So, three separate and major mistakes by two separate people. Don't waste your time unless you are fond of surprises and disappointment.

My wife and I go there in the mornings and sometimes during the day for a coffee and cake .. and sometimes a meal. Always friendly service and the staff are great. Sure it can be busy but I have never felt left out or missed. The coffee is good and the food tasty . We enjoy our walks to the cafe and the coffee and cake. Also a great 20% discount for pensioners. I have always thought that they do their best in busy situations .. and this is good enough for us.

Every time I have been to Rocco's I have experienced nothing but 5 star service! They are always friendly and the food is amazing! Not just the burgers by the way, they have a great range of alternative foods! Will be a regular at Rocco's and will always recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in the area.

Took my 14yr old son for dinner at Roccos and he loved it. Roccos is suitable for pretty much anyone but will most likely appeal to the under 30's, having said that there is lots to choose from for just about anyone and they start at pretty decent prices. We went on Thursday 2nd March 2017, walked in and had a lovely young lady direct us to a seat and provided both water and menus without being asked. After a small wait to check out the menu she returned and my son was chuffed that I said he could order first. He ordered and then she helpfully steered me in the direction of the veggie burger. My son had the burger with the lot and I had the veggie burger. Both looked spectacular when served and I have to say mine was delicious, my son thought his was awesome. I ordered pineapple juice that came freshly queezed and cold on ice, it definitely hit the spot. Food: great Drinks: great Venue: very nicely turned out that creates a nice dining experience Staff: helpful polite and didn't leave us waiting Service: quick and didn't wait too long for dinner to arrive, which when you have a teenage son is a bonus! Party size: 2 Have to say based on our first visit that we'd go back and would recommend.

This is the best place to have a good bite along Maroondah Highway. Worth every dollar. Their menu changes every two weeks - creative chefs!!!

We love coming to Rocco's, the food is amazing, the staff are friendly and the service is great! We've been for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the menu choices of both the food and drinks are varied and different.

Nice food but wont be going back. Started off with having coffee spilt with the table being moved then didnt even get offered a new one waited 1 hour for another coffe and an hour 30 for food the staff wouldn't even serve us for water or drinks had to go up to the counter. Defiantly not going back �

The food and service were totes amazing, we had brunch there and our choice of meals were divine, every mouthful tickled the tastebuds, fully recommend this cafe to everyone, do yourself a favour and visit.

We've eaten at Rocco's a few times, every time we've had a pretty good experience. The food is always excellent and they have the best vegie burger I have probably ever had (coming from a vegetarian who's had a lot of crappy ones). The sweet potato fries are also amazing.

We were pretty excited to take a visit to Rocco’s when we moved into the area. An award winning burger and coffee joint across the road from home - gold! We’ve loved the food over the last year, but the coffee hasn’t been great and the service it seems is gradually going downhill. We keep giving second (third .. fourth .. fifth) chances on the coffee, but it is consistently bitter or burnt. We won’t be buying the coffee anymore. The service is OK, but whenever we order takeaway food/coffee they never seem to hear it correctly so time, food and coffee is wasted in them correcting our order each time. We’re giving Rocco’s a rest and we’ll try again in 6 months or so.

Great service, great food and great people! The staff even remember my breakfast and my burger order off by heart �

Waited half an hour to be told the waiter hadn’t even put our order in. Was offered free coffee or the price of already consumed coffee be deducted from bill. Went the bill deduction option. Paid bill but worked out when we got home that we paid full price. Thanks for nothing. That was just the final straw after other ordinary experiences there. Won’t be going back.

Finally a place that can cook simple food that tastes fantastic, was blown away with the presentation and the food itself was superb. Thank you for making food enjoyable to eat.

Highly recommended local burger cafe’. Burgers are as described in the menu with fresh, tasty ingredients and options. Love the Vegetarian choices as I’m a Vege and my husbands Burger with the lot ticked all the boxes. Friendly and prompt service.... We’ll be back!

I just picked up my morning coffee & eggs & bacon roll - the girls at the front are under the pump I get that a busy Sunday morning but no excuse for being rude/abrupt - I have been coming since you opened but your wait staff have let you down today :-(

One of the best and unique burger I've had in a very long time. It is also the best service I've had this year. Melissa's (name on receipt but not %100 sure) service made our 1st time visit even better.

The burger & pop chicken was amazing, great quality & taste. We were extremely disappointed about the chips - uncooked & soggy We will be back but choose our take away days more wisely. Long wait on a Saturday night and soggy chips.

Nice burgers, shame no signature steak sandwich anymore. Just one question, Mr Rocco. What is the correct price for a "Dirty Burger" with fried chicken (minus the beef). Is it $18.90 or $22.90 ? I am over being charged two different prices. Would it be possible to communicate the correct price to ALL staff ? If you want to charge me $22.90 for a dirty burger with chicken , I am happy to pay $22.90 just include the beef pattie separately as I have paid for it.

If I was asked to describe Rocco’s in one word, it would be “average”. The burger is nice, with a good balance of basic flavours. However the burger itself is dry, the buns are too thick so the bread:burger ratio is off, further reinforcing the dryness. The chips tasted stale and weren’t seasoned at all. Room for improvement.

Pancakes of the day were to die for. Blueberry and ricotta pancakes with blueberry compote, vanilla and maple mascarpone cream , maple syrup, walnuts and raspberry chia ice cream. $17.9. Literally worth every cent if you love an indulgent dessert breakfast. My milk chocolate mocha was generous and not too sweet. Overall great food and drink. I'll definitely be back again!

First experience here on a quiet Tuesday afternoon was perfect. The coffee was actually hot, the burger full of ingredients (I even asked for no bacon) and delicious and fresh, the cheesecake yummy. The service was quick and very friendly. The interior was modern, clean and inviting. Could only fault that a burger, chips, coffee and small cheesecake cost $30 but that is pretty standard for cafes. Won't stop me coming back.

Went on what would be a very busy Sunday, were greeted by friendly staff and had our orders taken in a timely manner. Our drinks took a considerable amount of time to come, being an Orange Juice and a Cappuccino. The OJ came after 5 minutes and the cap after 15.  Being a busy Sunday this can be forgiven. The food was good, being the breakfast menu. The coffee was fine, I was really impressed with their crockery. Not in a hurry to revisit, but a good cafe if this is your Local

AMAZING coffee! Come here almost every morning and never disappoints!! <br/>Staff are really nice, can be a little busy at times but if ordering coffee always call ahead to avoid the wait! <br/>Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are always delicious! Have had a number of the burgers and sliders are all really nice! Favourite was the Mexican burger that is now off the menu - Bring back the Mexican burger!! :)

Amazing burgers, amazing presentation, amazing brekky, good coffee, excellent smoothies. Accomodate for all dietary requirements and go above and beyond to make sure you are catered for!

This place was unreal! A lovely well run family cafe in the heart of Croydon known for their delicious burgers & all day breakfast menu. It was our first time to this cafe and it certainly won't be our last! The Cheeseburger and Green With Envy Burger were both winners, along with their sweet potato chips and delicious pancakes! Smoothies and Coffee was also spot on. Looking forward to returning and trying other menu items.

The coffee and service at Rocco’s is outstanding. Also they make really nice muffins, donuts and banana bread! But I only wish their menu food was better. It does detract from a cafe; when the food is not good. I have eaten breakfast AND burgers here and it’s just so average 😭 it’s so close to home too- if the quality of the food improved I would be eating here 7 times a week.

Disappointed to hear that the Rocco's Signature is no longer on the menu ☹ It was one of the best burgers I've had...just ask my family!<br/><br/>Anyway settled for the Love Miso instead. It was ok - the chicken was nice but the flavour combination wasn't really my taste. On the upside, the sweet potato wedges were great.<br/><br/>Staff were super friendly which is always a bonus.<br/><br/>My rating has taken into consideration previous visits - how could I forget that signature burger 😍<br/>I'll be back to try some of their other new burgers.<br/><br/>Note - check their website for the most recent menu.<br/><br/>

Who knew I’d enjoy a burger this much so far out from civilisation!? 😬... cheeseburger was cooked well and had the right amount of sauce and toppings to prevent the dreaded burger dryness. Service was friendly and great value for money. They also have an extensive breakfast menu if for some strange reason, burgers are not your thing... weirdo.

Although the food took a little while to come it was worth the wait. Great on point 2018 menu. Taste on point and wouldn't hesitate to recommend 👌

Rocco’s at 1 Exeter Rd North Croydon is a great coffee lunch stop. Outside on the corner are table and chairs, while inside is fitted out with a modern comfortable dining area. We found the service and the coffee was good, with a nice range of cakes, muffins, buns, burgers, smoothies, to go. Very popular with the locals, free News Papers to read while relaxing with your tea or coffee. Also free Wifi.

beautiful salads and the burgers are good too. They are awesome for takeaways and make a beautiful easy lunch when work gets busy! Staff are always friendly too. Definitely will be back.

Ventured off to what is becoming a popular cafe in Croydon North. Whilst small, Rocco's is one of the best in the area for breakfast/brunch/burgers. Coffee is sublime - we often use this place for takeaway. Served beautifully in store. Service is fantastic.<br/><br/>Thoughts on the food: Crispy Fritters with added hash brown were nice, however felt these were a tad dry on the inside but the accompanying sauce made up for this. The Eggs 4 Ways with Pork and added sides (Chipolata & Hash Brown) was delicious; hollandaise sauce was perhaps a little bland. Both dishes were well presented. We had sweet potato fries with Chipotle Aioli as a side: you can't go wrong?! Very salty!<br/><br/>Thanks Rocco's! See you soon ;-)

The staff here are so friendly and helpful! I called up to book a table with room for a pram, and the lady on the phone was very helpful. Once I got there she welcomed me warmly. The coffee & food were perfect too!

Came here for a brekky on our way to lake mountain. I won't go into the detail of describing the food. It was average. Service was a hit and miss but I liked the staff overall specially when they went out of their way to fix my friends order.

Caught up with a friend today and she suggested Rocco's!<br/>Will start with the bad - it was quite busy and we had to be seated outside. It's winter and it's cold! Would be great if there was an outdoor heater! My friend got there before me though and apparently we were offered blankets if we got cold...not sure if that was a joke?<br/>The good - lots of GF options on the menu, and although i don't require it myself, i was impressed with the DF and Vego options as well! All burgers could be made with a GF roll for those who love big burgers. Breakfast until 3pm is also great - let's face it, sometimes we all love breakfast at 1pm in the arvo!I had a side of chips and a side of chicken nuggets which were very filling. The chicken nuggets were delicious, and great to be able to order them as they are usually reserved for kids! Chips were great too, but did get cold very quickly (Maybe the result of us sitting outside?)

4 WOMEN WALK INTO A BURGER JOINT! <br/>Oh my, the place is modern and clean, with other diners having an early dinner, we were seated quickly, the waiter was attentive, the menu is extensive with a great modern choice, 3 of us ordered the Rocco's  Signature, and I ordered the Grilled Chicken we also ordered sweet potatoes fries, when our order was delivered we were very impressed and pleasantly surprised, my my the chicken was very tendered with wonderful flavours, the girls really loved there burgers (the serving board we left empty), it will never be said that you will leave Rocco's Burger Cafe hungry. We live on the other side but I must say its well worth the drive, and in those famous words I'II BE BACK!!!!!

Love it. Amazing food amazing service the place looks great. Highly recommend. I love how there special change every 2 weeks, you know you can always get a variety - i dont know anywhere else that does that and its so exciting to see what they will come up with next!!!!

Since we’re finally moving in, we decided to check out the local eats and I’ve been eyeing Rocco’s Burger Cafe every time we drove past and FINALLY we had the opportunity to casually drop by to stuff our faces. It was quite busy when we went at lunch time but when we stepped into the cafe, we were greeted by smiling staff (even though they were super duper busy). You can definitely tell that it’s a family-owned cafe because they pay extra attention to you and they had a different kind of friendliness to them.

Found this place in our dual hunt for DFGF food for my better half, AND the best burger in Vic. Staff are attentive and very knowledgeable. GF options are cooked in a separate fry vat / on a fresh grill. Suggestions made by waitress were spot on. Quite a few gluten free and dairy options. Only issue was we had to be rolled out we were so full. Can't wait to go back again.

Tasty tasty tasty! Dirty burger is an absolute must. From the bun, to the patty right down to the spicy ranch sauce. This is one of the best burgers I have tasted! Will definitely be back.

HELLO I was the world most annoying customer ever, not only did myself and two other vegans complicate the whole menu, we asked to split the bill and split a side of chips for four!<br/>And they accommodated for everything! Had lunch here today and ordered the pork pull up apart burger. The meat inside the burger was moist and had a pleasant taste. The burger bun was not that fresh and I think was at least a day old.<br/>Fairly noisy inside the cafe however the service was really friendly and helpful.

I have had breakfast there which was very nice but expensive but waited too long to be acknowledged even when it wasn't busy. The third visit I walked out after waiting 15 minutes without even a nod from any staff, again not even busy. Not good enough!

Quite busy place for a late lunch (perhaps because of New Yeae closures and not much open but I'm not from the area myelf). We didn't realize the menu was predominantly burgers or breakfasts - prices seemed quite exorbitant for choice. We both orded avo and egg on rye bread and received this for $19.50 (refer pic). While we enjoyed it and gobbled it up the toasted rye bread was quite hard to cut into. My cuppa was perfect and delivered very hot. The iced coffee had lots of ice cream in it.<br/><br/>We both felt the acoustics in the cafe were terrible and that we were sitting amongst so much noise of music; conversations; waitresses clanking cutlery being sorted etc that we could barely speak. We left quickly after our meals as it was too noisy.

Yummy way to eat your carbs but not cheap  - $18 burgers <br/><br/>We had the parma hamburger which was filled to the brim with lean bacon, a juicy hamburger patty, two types of cheese and finished with bolognese sauce - a meat lovers dream and very filling. I think for the price it should have at least come with a handful of fries to pick at but it was still good.  We also had the bacon & egg roll on  turkish bread which which was perfect. The service is fine but the food was tad slow to come out, especially given that it was very quiet.  Their coffee was fine but again, a bit overpriced at $4. <br/>Still worth a visit though.

Been to Rocco's quite a few timespans the burgers are very diverse and delicious. Sometimes the wait is a little too long but it's worth it (not any longer though). The burgers are little bit over priced.

Have visited roccos twice. First time was pretty average. But gave it another crack.<br/>Second try was much better.<br/>Waited a while for food. But, nothing extreme.<br/><br/>Food was good and delivered what you'd expect from any decent burger venue.<br/>A few house made goodies were a nice touch.<br/><br/>However, I'm going to call out the coffee...... Advertised as "award winning coffee", Ive never ever heard of "roccos blend" in any capacity. I'm heavily experienced in the roasting and production of specialty coffees. And I've never heard of it.<br/><br/>But, that being said, you don't go to Roccos for a coffee. You go for a burger.<br/>And the burgers are good. I rate them higher than Hello Harry in Lilydale. So save yourself the disappointment and pop up to roccos.

The burgers were huge and very filling. If only the place was licensed , which was a bummer. We were there until 8, would've been nice if there was some alcohol.

Came here for breakfast. We shared a corn fritter and a breakfast burger. And ordered a coffee each.<br/><br/>Food was very good. Breakfast burger had a home made English muffin which made the burger feel perfect for breakfast. The fritters also were great with the avo, sauces, and all round flavour.<br/><br/>The coffee was a bit sad. Very bitter flavour to it, which I normally enjoy strong coffees when I order but it just had a bitter bean flavour

Had the shared breakfast board for two on a Saturday morning. There's a good vibe about the place and staff were attentive. The food was delish!! They forgot to put the bacon on our board but that error was quickly rectified. There was so much food that we actually didn't finish it all. The bowl of granola with berries and yoghurt was also a nice little addition. Coffee was strong and hot. This place has definitely improved since we came when it first opened!

Have had takeaway coffees in the last which have been good and bad. Last time I visited I opted to dine in for lunch. Girl at counter asked me if I wanted a coffee on my way in but didn't mention it wasn't table service so I sat waiting for ten minutes for someone to take my order. Even as someone brought me a menu and then dropped off the coffee, it was only after I overheard a waitress telling another table that I realised you had to order at the counter. Staff were inattentive and seemed more interested in standing at the counter chatting than delivering food (my coffee was lukewarm after a lap around the cafe because no one knew who it belonged to!). <br/>I drank my coffee and left. Won't return. It's 2016, is table service in a cafe that charges $15+ for burgers really a difficult undertaking?

Great atmosphere, good food and great service. Defiantly a good variety of choices that caters for a range of different tastes and dietary restrictions. Although so expensive! Especially for the area, I was defiantly disappointed with what I got for the amount I paid! A grilled chicken burger, a side of sweet potato chips (no dipping sauce) came to a whopping $18!! I just didn't think it was worth the money...

Bitterly disappointed with my burger last night :(<br/>I got the wooly burger (lamb rocket tzatziki etc) and opted for a wholemeal bun instead of the brioche. Perhaps this is where I went wrong, because the bun was stale and gave me indigestion. I also ended up opening a tub of Greek yogurt in the fridge to lather in the burger to add some kind of moisture because there wasn't enough tzatziki. The lamb patty was the size of my face - some might take this as a positive, but it made biting into it so damn hard and messy. Not to mention the patty was mushy :/ not cooked properly. <br/>I pulled out my pickles to add some more flavour too..<br/>Sadly, I won't be back! Especially not for $16 a burger when I need to reconstruct it when I get it home.

Absolutely DELICIOUS lunch and coffee here today! Almost to perfection. The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. Coffee was served in great large mugs, soy milk froth was nice and creamy and the double shot was perfect. <br/><br/>Both meals came out quickly, before we could even finish our smoke. I ordered the vegetable stack with a poached egg ($18.50 + $2 egg). It was better than I could have imagined! Beautifully roasted mushrooms with delicious tangy avocado, punkin, eggplant, capsicum, zucchini and delicious crispy potato rosti, mmm mmm MMM! Generous strips of well cooked yummy haloumi and plenty of nice fresh rocket too. It was BANG ON and everything plentiful. The only miss was that the egg was a little underdone with runny whites, but this was nearly my perfect meal!<br/><br/>@mickymag ordered the zucchini and corn fritters which came with bacon, sour cream, avocado, cranberry relish and rocket (18.20). He said it was like a flavour explosion with every bite and really nice. This meal was also very generous in all ingredients.<br/><br/>Leaving very full with delicious food and great service I was very happy to find this place. I don't know what the other bad reviews received but we got great shiny service and generous but delicious meals. Will definitely be back for this vegi stack and the coffee!! Yum

Lousy service, ended up walking out and ate elsewhere. Won't be back, too many other places of a much higher standard. I have been here before with similar poor service, thought I would give it one more go, but never again.

Just received take away burgers honestly they were delicious! Cooked perfectly and filled with flavour we got the grilled veg and the mexi, both were different to what other burger places offer and they were worth it. The side of sweet potato chips were also amazing honestly one of the best ones we have had. Potion sizing was generous also. Only reason this score isn't higher is we have eaten within restraint twice and both times weren't great.. Food inside was over priced and just not wow. Will be coming back for burgers not so much for breakfasts/lunch

Been to Rocos a couple of times and have always a good experience. May not have Not the most perfectly cooked burgers in the world but they're not following every other place on the burger trend and they have their own style which I like. The first time I cam I had the rocos signature along with chips and a banana breakfast smoothie . The prosciutto was a great touch along with the roasted capsicum, my girl friend got the param burger was quite messy which doesn't faze me and the grilled chicken was cooked perfectly. Service was great but that could be due to knowing the waiter. Second time I went I ordered one of their specials cannot remeber the name but it consisted of double beef, double cheese, bacon and a tripple cheese stuffed bun. I was very hungover and could only managed a couple of bites again the pattie was a little over but can't really review the burger to well. Overall a nice place to go to if you're around Croydon North.

Firstly, $5.90 for a "regular" chips is so overpriced when you get the tiny little basket of burnt and overcooked potato chips. Burgers were also overpriced and flavourless - I love a bit of Beetroot in a burger so I added it into the "classic" burger. Had to try my best to make the 1 slice last the whole burger. At $1 a slice of Beetroot as an extra I should become a Beetroot farmer. Overall, nothing too special, our local fish and chip shop will be our pick when we want a burger.

I hate to write bad reviews but businesses like this need to know what is happening. <br/><br/>Staff were friendly and attentive, ordering at the counter is always a turnoff and with no noticeable table number system it usually ends in disappointment. Kitchen is very open and visible to customers while ordering at the counter. No sign of a chef just girls in black polo tops. Not a good sign but I remained positive. <br/><br/>Menus' were a damaged n worn so again not a good first impression. <br/>Coffees came out quickly. quite nice and at a good temperature.<br/>Meals came out separately a good 4/5mins apart<br/>Only 3 tables in use outside, 1 already eating, 1 just ordered and our Burger still went to the wrong table. <br/>Arracinhi balls are served just 3 small ish balls and a big pile of rocket on top straight out the box/packet with so condiment or homemade relish/sauce for $21. What a joke!! Then I discover the balls are barely warm let alone hot. But yet one bite has filled my teeth with overcooked rock hard pieces of rice. Makes me question how many times they have been cooked. <br/><br/>And our burger was poorly put together barely any sauce and the chicken was a really dry very thin fillet. <br/><br/>Overall a very disappointing experience and will certainly not be returning for food. Maybe just a takeaway coffee. <br/><br/>

Amazing food, the burgers are utterly orgasmic.<br/>Their breakfast menu is also pretty awesome.<br/>Service can be a little slow, especially when ordering at the counter, but worth it!<br/>Will definitely be back.

We visited here today for the first time and Roccos delivered a great lunch! Friendly service great food and omg flavour !! Loved that I could chips a seed free bun - for us seed allergics this is critical ( other burger joints take note!!) my pulled pork was every bit of delish. My husbands burger was perfect meat still pink and it was juicy and packed full of flavour . Service was great and friendly ! We can't wait to go back !

Not very impressed. Very expensive. Wasn't great and for what your paying and they are not generous with ingredients. I asked for beef instead of chicken pattie and had to pay for it as though it was an extra, which I thought was a bit unfair. I got one piece of tin pineapple ring on my burger, it didn't even fill half the burger and certainly didn't taste it.

We dined here on a Friday night. The pulled beef burger had a good flavour and a nice crunch. My partner and I both agreed the burgers were good, not great, not bad just good. I will say it's over priced with just a burger costing $16 without chips, not having table service for that cost is also a bit ridiculous. Decor is nice and staff are friendly.

Fantastic. I don't know about all the negative reviews I've read however I loved this place. My husband said "this is the best burger and banana thick shake ive had in years". My caesar salad was amazing and my mum and dad loved there meal. If i wasnt full i would of ordered dessert as they looked incredible. The staff were friendly and the meals came out in about ten minutes, beautifully cooked. I would definitely go back.

We have just moved to the area of North Croydon we thought would go to Roccos for a coffee we did not realise they do breakfast we had Roccos big breakfast I had thie scrambled eggs with bacon and hashbrowns and my two children had scrambled eggs the food was amazing very quick and served by the chef himself very impressed guys keep up the good work cannot wait to come back and try the burgers

Delicious! ! Three ladies of leisure lunched and munched our way through three different burgers, all of them were amazing, but winning hands down for me was the pulled pork and slaw with sweet potato fries. Followed by a fantastic coffee, and yes, I do consider myself to be a little bit of a coffee snob. I'll admit it here, but deny it anywhere else, we did squeeze in a little cake each, the key lime pie and red velvet cake were both lovely and just the right size. Awesome food, coffee and really friendly staff, could ask for more?

GO ELSEWHERE. Went with a friend for a quick lunch and left very disappointed with the poor service and terrible burgers,tried the coffee but again the taste was not up to scratch and served COLD,you must be joking and we had to pay for this ,NEVER AGAIN

Why bother. Came here to check out the coffee and was disappointed about everything. Lunchtime and the place was empty. The coffee was ordinary. No idea where they get this idea from that their coffee is award winning. Must have been the only one which was competing. No coffee in paper bags wins awards. Why do top european companies not use paper bags....because they know what they are doing. <br/>The girls behind the counter were very abrupt. More interested to talk amongst themselves. Not a place i would come back to. If you live in the area and want good coffee go next door to Bodgies bakery.

Pretty good. Tucked in to the roccos beef signature and it was good. Great quality ingredients and the pesto wasnt to overpowering and blended well with the prosciutto and capsicum. It could of had a bit more cheese but the homemade patty was delightful. I recommend if you get a burger, go the ciabatta bread. the girl that served me was lovely aswell. I enjoyed it and ill go back.

I seriously wish I had read the reviews before having a special birthday breakfast here. Terrible service, food was cold and the toast was hard. Eggs had been microwaved or tasted like it. I asked for a small serving of pancakes for my daughter and ended up having to pay for a large adults serving. She didn't want to eat them as they were gummy and overcooked. All of this was also overpriced. Such a shame as we just wanted I support a local business. <br/>I can understand why they're applying for a liquor license. Drunk folks would enjoy the food.

Wrong coffees brought out Chai Latei not plain Latei and the chicken burger with relish that I ordered, thank god I added the smashed avacado or it would have been served dry if the teaspoon of relish that was in it had been the only moist ingredient. Staff seemed more interested in talking amongst themselves,don't bother!

Food came out swiftly however the resturant was rather quiet when we went in, waitresses were lovely, the only thing was the price! Paying $5.9 for what seemed like just over a large handful of chips just seemed excessive, especially for the location of the business,

Lives up to it's reputation. We stopped in to Rocco's for a coffee on Saturday. I had hear many bad reports about this place from locals but we wanted a coffee with some guests and it was the closest place to our home. <br/>It wasn't lunchtime and it wasn't what I would consider excessively busy. We waited at the counter and told the waitress we were there for coffee and maybe a cake (so I'd like at least one menu please), we were seated .... And that was the end of the service. <br/>20mins later, no one had attended to us, no one took an order, in fact no one took interest at all!! <br/>The place was do noisy we could barely hear ourselves speak, over the hollowed interior, music AND Television in the corner. Was this an attempt to make it appear busier than it was??<br/>We ended up leaving without ordering, and the girl at the counter friendly thanked us ... Completely oblivious to the potential $30+ sale they had walking past. <br/>Completely hopeless. Zero customer service. I think the owners need to take a regular trip to The Lower Deck in Croydon with their staff to show them all what a really quality establishment is all about. <br/>Just because it's Croydon doesn't mean that customer service is lowest in the list!! <br/>They have a prime location and have obviously invested in their fit out.... Return on investment through repeated business should be foremost. Every customer that has money in their pocket pays this business' way.

Great new place. These guys are just starting out and while they are having some teething problems their food is really good and the staff are very friendly. They will just get better and better. Big thumbs up.

Yum. Came here for yhe first time tonight for an early dinner. my friend and I looked over the menu and decided on a burger each. one breakfast burger and a mushroom mayhem. we were not disappointed. these burgers were juicey and fresh YUM. I will defiantly come back here. very happy there is a decent burger joint in the area. also the waitress we had was very friendly and attentive to us, asking us during the meal how everything was going. great place

I had high hopes for this place. Been to this cafe twice and the second time will be the last. The first time was for breakfast and the smashed avocado bruschetta was ok but nothing to write home about considering the price. The second time I went there with my daughter after a late morning walk for a hot chocolate and a smoothie (we're locals). They bought my hot chocolate out quick enough but forgot about my daughter's smoothie. Couldn't wait any longer after 30mins so asked for a refund. Nothing else offered to us to bring us back. I don't plan to go there again.

Sunday lunch. We went to Rocco's for lunch last Sunday and I had the best burger that I've had in a long time. I didn't have to wait long and it was fresh and delicious and my coffee i had after topped it off beautifully. The staff were friendly and Rocco himself came out and introduced himself and made sure all was ok. I would definitely go back perhaps try their breakfasts next time.

NOT WORTH THE WAIT!!. Went there for a family dinner, inside tables were quiet next to empty.<br/>WAITED 1HR 22MINS. Every time we enquired into the food being served it was "5mins" or "Plating now".<br/>Short and skinny is, we left. No food, across the road for Thai. We were seated & fed in under 10mins.<br/>Not worth the wait or the fuel.

What can I say except for overpriced tasteless burgers just fed my raw fatty steak to the dog for $17.00 I was expecting better than I would get from the local fish and chip shop. Won't be going back extremely disappointed!!!!

SENSATIONAL COFFEE AND YUMMY FOOD. We pass this place nearly every day. Looks great from the outside. There were about 20 other customers inside and our family ( 4 adults and 3 children) were seated quickly. We had the famous burgers and the kids picked from the kids menue.<br/>We are coffee lovers and I must say the coffee was spot on so much so we all had a second cup. The barista was well experienced. My wife said on the way out it was the best coffee she has ever had , big statement from her.<br/>Thanks for a great meal and good service, Will come again.

Great food, great place. Been holding off coming here for a little while to let the hype die down, came here for breakfast/lunch here this morning and it was great. I got the big brekkie and my partner got a signature beef burger. Drinks came out 5 minutes after ordered and food about 20 minutes. Very quick service and everything was very nice and well cooked. Only thing I can fault is that for $16.50 you don't even get chips with your burger without adding extra money on top of it, however a very minuscule problem. Staff welcoming and I personally enjoy the walk up to the counter vibe. Will definitely be returning here.

BESR BURGERS EVER!! the veggie burger melts in your mouth, so many flavors and veggies I didn't know where to start! the staff are so friendly with big smiles and a happy attitude! even Rocco himself pops out to make sure the meal was perfect! overall, great local burger joint for a bloody good feed!!

Beautiful friendly staff, a relaxed vibe and the food is just so yummy! especially breakfast! the smashed avo was really really nice, and the green juice in the jar! the veggie burger is grilled and so tasty, the chips are great too! if you want to relax and be served by lovely friendly people definitely head to roccos.<br/>People like to complain over anything and everything, i was 100% with everything about Rocco's and will continue going back as much as possible:D:D .

To begin with, I have to start by saying how Happy I am with the Customer Service at Rocco's Burger Cafe, Me and my Husband, last minute decision thought, we would try it out for lunch one evening during the week.<br/>Ever since then we have made it a weekly ritual to go back so we are now regulars. The staff are friendly, the food is delicious and the place just has a great atmosphere. 10 out of 10!!!!!!!

Friendly service however for.... Heard about this place and thought we'd give it a try. <br/>Nicely fit out place, looks really slick - but thats where it ends.<br/>If you're going to charge prices that are above average for the area (and are more than places like Huxtaburger) then you need to step up to the mark.<br/><br/>Firstly - No table service. So we have to walk in, wait in a line behind others who are either waiting for a table, waiting to pay or waiting to order. Instant 'oh ffs' moment right there before you hand me a menu.<br/><br/>Secondly - Menu's - two of the ones handed to our table had pages hanging off them. If they're not in good condition - don't hand them out. Its reflective of the care that the establishment shows to all things (which should have been warning bells enough for us).<br/><br/>Thirdly - the service and food. Friendly service, however forgot to put through our drinks order resulting in the late and baby chino we'd ordered not arriving until after the mains had been consumed.<br/><br/>The food - it took over 30mins for 3 burgers to come out. Now I could understand a wait if the place was flat chat (which it wasn't) or if the burgers were goutmet or something. They're not.<br/><br/>They're dry. They're made with mostly store bought crap and they're far overpriced what they are.<br/><br/>This place needs to seriously work on the quality of it's produce and how it delivers them to it's customers. I wouldn't complain so much if the burgers were $8 - but at $15+ it's a bit of a joke.<br/><br/>This place has the potential to be a gold mine, however judging by the way I observed food being cooked in the kitchen (it's visible when you're standing at the counter to order/pay/ask for drinks you've already ordered) - it's being run by someone who doesn't know the first thing about the food industry, doesn't have a passion for what they're doing and it doing it all on the cheap.<br/><br/>Needs to seriously improve if it wants to survive out here.

Very lovely meal. Was very pleasantly surprised by this little gem in Croydon North- right from the word go the service was fabulous, nice relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. The classic chicken burger was delicious- perfectly cooked chicken, delicious chips on the side to complement. <br/><br/>What really topped it all off though was the wonderful service to our group's dietary needs- the staff were so wonderful in accommodating us! <br/><br/>Will be back! Worth visiting!

Was excited about the place cause it was always so busy but when i actually went there i was thinking the complete opposite.<br/>I was waiting for table service instead of having to grab a drink from a fridge yourself and then lining up in a line to place your order. There was plenty of staff working there and pkenty that could of taken on more to make it a comfortable satisfying place to eat.<br/>The floor was quite messy.<br/>You pay $15 for a burger and it was average (very unsatisfied), chips were extra......<br/>Over all i wasnt happy with my visit to this cafe

The service was great. The waitresses were attentive and enthusiastic. Whilst my friend had an allergy to canolla oil, the kitchen were more than happy to find a dish that suited. Being vegetarian and usually recieving oily vege patties is was the best to recieve real vegetables in this burger. Really recommend the vegetable burger here. The fresh smoothies might be a little pricey but are well worth buying. Enjoyed and will come back!

Like most locals happy to see something new opening up. Have been a few times and have very mixed feelings. The food is pretty good and not expensive so overall happy there. They really need to work on the service, there is no reason why a table of two can not get there meals at the same time, this has happened on two occasions. Also losing drink orders not up to scratch. forgetting to put the ham on eggs Benedict,how?? Will go again but hope service improves.
