As a person who has a gluten intolerance I wasn't too excited about pasta and pizza. Often gluten free options are not restaurant worthy, just a second rate alternative that enables the venue to boast " gluten free available". Well this is certainly NOT the case at Verona. Both the pizza and pasta (gluten free) were absolutely amazing, delicious flavours and amazing gluten free bases and pasta. Cannot recommend highly enough. So if you do require a gluten free option, don't be scared off by the Italian menu, it is delicious for us non gluten eating folk thanks Verona
Hi Verona Team,
Just love this place.
Service, food, coffee is always outstandingly amazing.
Homemade Espresso Softserve is the best thing I've ever eaten.
Thank you for bringing flavour back to Devonport
4.5 Had a very satisfied meal here before sailing back to Melbourne. Food is tasty, fresh and in big portion.Service is extremely friendly and quick. The coffee soft serve is to die for! It is very rich in coffee flavor and not very sweet (actually it is even bitter). Wine list is very good and reasonable lay prices. Highly recommended !
Amazing service, fantastic food, incredible atmosphere. The spaghettelli with cheese sauce is one of the best things I have eaten in my life! Will be back next time I’m in Davenport for sure!
It is not often a venue is found that is not only unique but is visually spectacular.
A 7am visit to Verona Devonport has rewarded us with a quiet romantic dining experience before the rest of the world wakes up.
It is difficult not to wander around to look at the amazing attention to detail and character around every corner. You can feel the passion in what is before you.
The classic eggs Benedict (with as requested soft bacon 🥓) and the smashed avocado 🥑 (with bacon) were both delicious.
The almond lattes were amazing in strength but unfortunately left a bitter aftertaste. But in saying that good enough to have a second.
The staff were pleasant and prompt without making us feel rushed in deciding what to order. If we are being picky, the only real improvement would be the warmth of the staff which we understand can be difficult at an early hour and when dealing with difficult customers all day. On the same token it’s important for us to remember to be warm & understanding to staff as well.
The chef was visible from her Italian themed kitchen and although obviously busy took the time to say hi.
Ambient music was gentle and appropriate for the atmosphere, enabling us to talk and discuss the day to come.
All in all, 4 Stars here. A little on the pricey side however you are rewarded with good food and a visually rewarding experience.
Well worth the drive. We drove 45 minutes to get here and so pleased we did. Table near the fire, great food, great staff and a great end to a day that involved walking around Cradle Mountain.
We were here for brunch. All pizza and pasta only available from 11.30 onwards.
Got an interesting taste to the big brekkie, not the typical Aussie flavour, more like an Italian touch to it, not 100% sure if I like it enough to come back.
Coffee was very nice, and it’s interesting to see all the roasting inside the restaurant.
1 downside is there was no baby/child seats, despite seeing quite a few family with young kids around - can definitely improve on that.
The chef was really lovely and friendly.
Verona is a must-visit for Italian food lovers. The food were absolutely delicious and full or flavours. Great service, good value for money.
🌟 Highly Recommend 🌟
Excellent service, delicious house made food, and an upscale environment.
We came to celebrate my birthday for lunch and it was definitely a memorable and pleasurable experience!
The house made Limoncello on the rocks and also as a lively cocktail started us off on the right foot! We enjoyed the roasted tomato soup which felt so cosy with croutons and parmesan. An ocean trout carpaccio, and a huge platter of eye fillet with roasted veggies filled us up. Somehow we made room for the delectable tiramisu and coffee soft serve and an enormous cappuccino.
The staff were on top of everything and the Chef even came out which felt like a treat!
We left on cloud nine with full bellies feeling wonderful!
I had the lamb meat balls and a golden latte for a mid afternoon lunch. Both well really high quality. Staff were super friendly and attentive. The chef even came out to check on the customers which is a rarity nowadays but you can definitely tells he prides himself on the food.
Absolutely amazing place!
I have eaten here twice now and both times I have loved the food we received. The atmosphere is so relaxing and welcoming. The staff go above and beyond to make sure you are enjoying your time in the restaurant and are all lovely friendly people. The chef was amazing and both times I have been to Verona they came out to see if we had enjoyed our meals. I would highly rate Verona and recommend them to anyone.
Great food friendly staff I will go back the Calzone was huge and Yumm.
