Mountain Kitchen serves the best breakfast you can find on dinner plain. This cosy cafe is decorated in a homely style, with small tables inside. The breakfast is a decent serving of fresh ingredients. As a vegan, they didn’t explicitly accomodate dietary requirement on the menu, but the options can be adjusted to suit. For non-vegans, they also have a ton of baked sweets and snacks. I had sourdough (3 slices) with beans, mushrooms and tomatoes, as pictured below. It was unfortunate that they had run out of avocado by 11:00am, when I arrived - a breakfast staple that was sorely missed. As such, I’d recommend coming early. The coffee was also nice, with perfect froth and full coffee flavour for my soy latte (btw they have a lot of milk options). All-in-all, highly recommend!
I love coming here winter and summer. The food is yummy and home made daily. Nothing better than tucking into the banana cake fresh out of the oven after being out on the trail or the egg and bacon muffins. (Pictured). The humble tea's and coffees are divine due to the gorgeous mountain water...good service and good value.
A small cafe that certainly delivers! During summer was delighted by their wealth of local gourmet foods and wines. At night they shift gears with their Asian menu and a great vibe with the live music while watching the sunset. During winter it is always warm and welcoming - either for breakfast or a coffee. Also a great location for watching the world go by.
