Review Valencia Cafe Kitchen - Doncaster East

K
Delicious authentic Malaysian food executed perfectly. We have tried a number of their hawker dishes and they do not disappoint. They serve coffee and alcohol as well which is an added bonus. Very good service staff as well. Always polite and accommodating. Will be back for dinner service!

Went here after seeing some good reviews in Facebook group. So glad that I chose this place after whole day on the road. Portion was good as you can see on the photos. Laksa were really nice and delicious, maybe just need a bit more chicken. Had iced teh tarik and 3 layers milk tea as well. Service was great, the staffs were really nice. Definitely will come back when we are in the area. Want to try the other foods on the menu. Looks good when I saw them on the other tables.

Great food here! The salted egg yolk chicken ribs are so full of flavour and tastes exactly like you think it should. The hokkien Mee is good but could do with a little less sauce or having the sauce thicker. The Wat Tan Hor is one of the best around. I'm looking forward to trying it with the crispy mee. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommended!

Nice Malaysian spot in Doncaster East. Majority of dishes are delicious. My favourite is laksa. I also like their mix of coffee and milk tea. It’s probably not for everyone but something unique.

Really delicious Malaysian food! We usually get the Hokien Mee, Chicken rice, fish head noodle soup and Wat Dan Hor with ice teh tarik. So far we haven’t been disappointed. The Hokien Mee and Wat Dan Hor are our favorite. The Hokien mee has strong flavor from the rich thick sauce and pork lards and the wat dan hor with Ying yong is just really delicious, got wok hei too! Staff are friendly and place is usually busy so make sure to book or come early!

Delightful malaysiam cuisine find in Doncaster. We had the currypuff and lobak interspersed with our main - wat tan hor (with crispy yee mee). The lobak had the authentic flavour (although nothing still beats the one I grew up with at SS2 Chow Yang) but still pretty good. I have a thing for spiral curry puffs. Again it is good, my #3. Suitable for those who enjoys their filling a little more wet than normal. The best thing is that it is fried fresh to order so prepare for piping hot giddiness once you tuck in. Our fav by far is the wat tan hor. We'll try it with the kway teow next!

char kuay teow : to appease the ‘wok breath’ (wok hei) devotees it should be a little more charred- however that aside it was seasoned perfectly, just a touch spicey, dark soy, meat and some vegetables. the noodles were moist, tender and not too greasy. The Wat Dan Hor (rice noodles with egg gravy) is definitely worth a try- it was well seasoned- try it out and make up your own mind. service was friendly. prices reasonable.

Delicious food. The handmade curry puffs were perfection 👌 as was the Nasi Lemak and everything else we ordered. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back again and again to try everything on the menu. Great local.

Another quality Malaysian restaurant on this strip of Blackburn Road that’s teeming with decent food choices. We ordered a nasi lemak with curry chicken and the roti chanai with curry chicken. Both were very good and the curry chicken had a really decent spice level! They charge extra to pay by card, which in these COVID times, really isn’t acceptable.

Ordered nasi lemak and hokkien mee via ubereats. Pleasantly surprised!! Their hokkien mee definitely tastes better than our other regular Malaysian restaurants around the area. We’re very keen to try other dishes on their menu. <br/>Updated: Tried other dishes including their Assam laksa recently, it was soooo bitter and the ingredients were not fresh. Sad to say it was one of the worst representation of a laksa we’ve every had. Their other dishes were good tho!

Got home a take away meal from here and it was not good. The food was smelly and I binned it. Not going to eat here again.

I have had lots of Malay food but this one was below average<br/>Nasi Goreng rice no taste just a bit of soy sauce splashed in rice and egg on top <br/>Got my order wrong for veggies and I accepted it anyways. The kankun blachan was also bit off <br/>Sorry I will not go there again. <br/>Only saving grace were the staff - decent people
Charlieatsfood
Fantastic little cafe that offers a Malaysian/international themed brunch as well as hawker style dishes. Our favourites are the Hokkien noodles, curry laksa and wat tan hot (stir fried rice noodles in egg gravy). Keep an eye out for the daily specials- they have a fantastic Pan Mee which we always get when on offer. Since the pandemic we have only been able to get take away which has been excellent but also can’t wait to enjoy the brunch options in house too.<br/>

Ordered takeaway and portion size is good, presentation looks good. Flavours are spot on. Ordered nasi lamak and hainanese chicken rice. Both taste delicious. Not sure if they forgot to give me chicken soup for the hainanese chicken rice but would be prefect with it. Will continue to go back to try the other dishes on the menu.

I understand it takes time to prepare food and serve, especially during lunch hour. We ordered our food, it didn't arrive even though two groups of people who ordered later than us and got their food. Two groups of people came in later, ordered later than us, yet got their food first. They need to improve on their services.

We came here for a quick dinner. Friendly attentive staff. Quick service and tasty food. Would have liked if they provided a knife with the cutlery. Wine not available by glass yet.
JunGoesToEat
This restaurant is underrated. Some dishes are absolutely fantastic and really good representation of Malaysian food (but others can be a hit and miss). They offer kuehs, nasi lemak and curry puff as well which makes a great snack if you come here for tea break and coffee. <br/>Fried rice, is the best I've had. Unrivalled with the amount of wok hei and umami that I myself cannot explain. <br/>Hakka braised pork with egg noodles, a special on the weekend is absolutely amazing with the pork just melting in your mouth. <br/>Slightly on the expensive side, about 15-16 for a hawker dish, but in my opinion quite worth it for the size.
Noel Millen
A great cheap option for a decent size lunch. The curry laksa had some chewy chicken bits but other than that it was still Avery good chicken laksa.

First time visit.<br/><br/>Friendly staff. Service was good. Always nice to be able to order in Cantonese/Mandarin.<br/><br/>Curry chicken that came with the nasi lemak was dry but flavourful.<br/><br/>Assam laksa was too sweet. They used canned sardine and canned pineapple which in my book, is a big no no.<br/><br/>Teh tarik tasted good and authentic.<br/><br/>Will be back to try out other dishes.<br/><br/>3 stars for now.
Corgi The Foodie
Ever since they changed owners, the chicken rice is no longer the same. And we went back twice to give it a chance. Chicken was dry, rice was bland and even the soup was flavour less. My prawn mee was okay but I never had it before at Valencia so cant compare. Very disappointing.

I have been a regular at Two Circles for a while and finally had the chance to take my family here for lunch recently. We ordered the jumbo size curry laksa with vermicelli, prawn noodles and claypot chicken and mushroom noodles. The laksa is the best I’ve had in Melbourne and the jumbo size is just incredible value - it’s packed with so much chicken, roast pork, pork belly and heaps of vegetables they were almost spilling off the bowl! A noodle of this size for under $20 is hard to find anywhere nowadays. My family’s favourite was the prawn noodle and they said it’s so tasty that they literally finished within minutes! The staff here were very friendly and attentive and took really good care of us on the day.<br/>Tip: this cafe also make their own curry puffs and delicious Malaysian kuih desserts. But you want to come in early because they only make limited batches everyday.

Been coming to this cafe for a while now since last year. Use to be called Valencia cafe, but recently changed names to Two Circles Cafe. <br/><br/>The food quality is still as good as it before. Came here with my partner as we were in the mood for an excellent Laksa! <br/>Was not disappointed at all, their Laksa is one of the best I've had outside of Malaysia. The broth is quite thick and creamy, excellent flavours, coupled with fresh ingredients and some of the best vermicelli noodles in town🤤<br/>We also got the nasi lemak which was very flavourable and the fried anchovies with peanuts were just like how they do it in Malaysia!<br/><br/>Food: very authentic Malaysian food with a little western twist in some dishes, but their Malay dishes is why you go there🤤<br/>Service: good very with attentive staff, can be better when serving meals together instead of the longer than average wait times, but nothing too serious. <br/>Price: quite good value for money with the large portion sizes and quality of food! <br/><br/><br/>Overall it's a solid 4.8/5😍
Snowflower
Polite and quick service. Tried the laksa and satay chicken nasi goreng. Definitely go for the laksa. Yummy. Prawn noodles were a hit too.
Chee Kang
Nice malaysian food, nice presentation

1/10 from me.<br/>The 1 they got from me is only because the food looked decent for a Malaysian inspired cafe.<br/>Service was REAL bad, we waited nearly half an hour for A coffee. It was just a soy latte and the cafe wasn’t even crowded or busy.<br/>Worst part was I had to say I wanted a refund before they apologized and STARTED to make my coffee.<br/>They need to improve their customer service badly because food here actually isn’t too bad but I am very displeased with the service.

This place deserve more attention. I really love their food especially their laksa and pork noodles. The weekdays' breakfast special has good selection and their price is very reasonable. Please support them!
Wen Lee
Reached at 3pm , cafe closes at 4pm but kitchen closes at 3pm? No notice stated anywhere, purposely came all the way here but got told off. I would understand if kitchen closes half an hour before it close but this is ridiculous. With that service, won’t be back
Gab
Frequent this place as it is local to me but am always so amused by how overwhelmed and chaotic the staff are when there are 3 people in the whole restaurant! Food is eh and takes forever to come out and I don’t think I’ll ever have to stare so intensely at staff when trying to get attention anywhere else. They do make a mean coffee but customer service skills need improvement.
Grace Tan
Tried Assam laksa and their bak kut Teh soup special. Assam laksa was to my liking. Their Bak Kut Teh was not enough meat and mostly bones. Their pig intestines was bitter. Disappointing for a special. Will not order again. Will come for laksa if got cravings.
Noble Foodie
1st time trying out this Malaysian restaurant. Ordered won ton noodle with char siew and a cup of teh tarik. Serving of noodle was big portion but the char siew they served together was abit hard. I would prefer the pork belly part which I think should be tender as their sauce was just the right taste. They used spinach leaves instead of normal choy sum for the vegetables part which is good. I love their teh tarik as it is very authentic. There are many varieties of other foods in their menu too. <br/>
Keithchen7
The KL Hokien Mee is the most authentic hokien Mee in Melbourne so far. Dark, rich and full of flavor that brings you back to restaurants in KL.
Darny
I was quite disappointed with the customer service. No doubt it’s a busy Saturday but we stood at the doorway for a good 15minutes, no service staffs approached us to let us know they are full and there won’t be any tables at all. Disappointing
MissCat
I like the coffee! My review will always emphasise on service 😁 service is good here. Today we ordered the asian menu, asam laksa and prawn noodles... also the curry<br/>puffs. The curry puff skin is good however the filling is missing some taste... not tasty enough. Both prawn noodles and asam laksa is not too our liking, asam laksa doesnt taste fresh to me... I still rate them 3, for their service with a smile 😊 + coffee!
Mingo
First time visit. Had sampling of the kueh. They are pretty good and authentic. Ended up buying kueh talam and curry puffs!👍. Has the special for the day - pork noodles and suddenly the KL memories came flooding back !! It was so good and authentic, pork balls, liver, kidney and intestines ! The taste is exactly like the best from KL. A first in Melbourne!!! Ended up booking for a Saturday dinner!! 👍👍👍

One of our favourite place for Asian food. They have their Asian Special on weekend which they will publish on the Facebook page. Our favourites are pork noodle, prawn noodle, assam laksa. They have packet Nasi Lemak, Siew Pao, Seri Muka... I basically love all their Nyonya Kueh. Coffee at that place is decent too - our usual is flat white.
Happy Tomato
What a disappointing experience. This Hainanese chicken rice ball meal was only available on weekends, and because if that, I was adamant to have it. I was expecting the rice balls to be smaller in size like a pingpong ball but I was wrong. These rice balls were huge like tennis balls. The idea of eating a rice ball was that, one could simply eat the rice ball as a whole (one mouth full) or just even halve it. If these rice balls are these huge, the person eating it have to smash them into a plate of rice and defeats the purpose of rice balls. As for the steamed chicken, it was dry. The soy sauce was not even enough to soak the meat in and whats worst was the sauce had been fully absorbed by the tennis rice balls. I literally had to eat the chicken with the soup simply to moisten it for me to chew. Nonetheless, the ambience of this cafe is not bad and very comfortable. As a cafe, they served good coffee, tea and breakfast meals. Overall, I give this place a Sad Tomato.

The nasi lemak burger was insanely good. So were the curry puffs!<br/><br/>I just wish they served Malaysian drinks too :(<br/><br/>Still. Will definitely come back here
Cherry Chen
The place is overrated. The place is dark, only sunlight. The ice latte is sour. The curry puff is cold inside. Laksa is the only good dish during my visit.
Kayz
The food is ok but the cafe needs some management. Poor management of customers being seated, no semblance of a list or order. Despite having 3 or so special, food takes ages to come out. Room for improvement.
Sunny Days Melbourne
We finally made it to this currently trending little cafe in Doncaster East after multiple false starts. The wait and persistence have both been worth it! <br/>Love the decor but a bit miffed by the 30 minute car park limit in the nearby parking bays. The menu is as eclectic as it can get. They have the usual western breakfast suspects mixed in with South East Asian hawker style dishes. Loved the nasi lemak burger.....although the peanut butter sauce was probably not necessary. This is the only place I have ever seen selling Hainanese Chicken rice balls....super amazing! The chicken was tender and the accompanying sauces were top notch. <br/>We managed to make some space in our stomachs for their nyonya kuih (situated near the counter next to the muffins, croissants and curry puffs!). Two thumbs up for the kuih - very well presented and made with care. <br/>Not long now until the Valencia Cafe Kitchen fan club kicks off......!

Came here at 11am , No service at all , staff looks very busy . Curry chicken is cold when it serve to me. So disgusting . Won’t come back anymore.
LoveEatLoveCook
Very authentic Malaysian food cafe. Coffees were great. Went on a Saturday and tried their special Ju Yuk Fun, the salted egg pork skin on top is insanely delicious. Certainly to go back to try other dishes.
Ling Yap
A must try for its Nasi Lemak burger. It does serve Asian delights and desserts with weekend ur daily specials. Burger costs $18 for a big brioche bun with crispy fried chicken, cucumber, sambal anchovies, peanuts and fried egg. Full of flavour and fresh.
Hamish_88
Had the today's special: Dry egg noodle with roast pork and curry. It was AMAZING. I would definitely come back again! the flavour of the pork, noodles, curry, individually all tasted great. Only reason why I couldn't give it a 5 star was because the service and coffee was average. They also had 2 tables reserved, any one of them would have fitted our group perfectly. However since we didn't make a booking, we sat on the larger table making it a bit more awkward for us to talk. By the time we left, one of the 2 reserved tables still hadn't been used yet!!!!!!
Q
Food is great but coffee is just average. It takes forever for both the coffee n food to be ready. They weren't busy at the time we were there!

Found this cafe by accident. Thought it was a Cafe but boy was a wrong it is a little gem in the burbs with authentic Malaysia food. Wow wow wow is all I can say. The staff here are super friendly and the food excellento
Eat And Be Merry Crew
I know we see fusion styles of food around town all the time but a nasi lemak burger? Who’d of thunk it? Three of the four of us decided on the nasi lemak burger. A piece of fried chicken with a lightly fired egg, cucumber, peanuts and while not on the menu a few little dried fish (ikan bilis) sauce in a brioche bun. The fried chicken was generous and tender, the sambal of the slightly sweeter and less heat variety. I have been a bit over the whole brioche bun burger thing for a while but it does suit fried chicken. Large and in charge, full of flavour and within the normal price range of café burgers around town, it was an interesting and tasty experience that I’d be happy to sample again.

Great food! Great service! Always so accomodating. An unique brunch place that serve Malaysian food. One of my top favourite Malaysian food go to place. Weekend malay and nyonya kuih are top notch. Coffee is good too. Their creative fusion dish - Nasi Lemak burger is a must try!
Fair Rules For All
Drove past this place many times and though is only a cafe, boy was I wrong. Not only are they a cafe but they also do authentic Malay food! Which is perfect for us, the kids had the gourmet burger and hubby and I got the Malaysian dishes. The food was cooked perfectly, the prawn stock they use for their soup noodles is fully of flavour. Staff were very friendly and helpful, we will definitely return again to sample other dishes on the menu.
The Casual Diner
Will come back for:<br/>+ Pan Mee<br/>+ Hainanese Chicken Rice Balls<br/> (Sundays only)<br/><br/>Was told about this place, and the food did not disappoint. The soup of the pan mee was liquid gold (great combo of fried anchovies and fried pork fat stock) although the pan mee itself was a bit thick, the chicken rice was a novelty but delicious all the same. Also tried the Curry Laksa which was a generous serve but skews more towards a pure curry broth (I prefer more coconut milk in mine). Can’t wait to come back out one day to try out some of the other dishes. I must say though, I really don’t get the half Malaysian and the modern coffee and cake shop mix IMHO.
Kacangma
They had pan mee on the day we were there. The texture of the pan mee is very good and fresh. It is a little salty towards my liking. There are some greens in the pan mee and I guess they are baby spinach. The chicken rice balls are still good and we wish to have more chilli sauce. And not to forget their kuihs!! That’s the main reason we drove nearly an hour to get there. The angku kuihs are chewy and they are not too sweet.

Loved it! Really good servers there who are patient and nice. Kept ordering lots of tea, and they were very prompt. Delicious chai latte too!

First time to the cafe! Introduced by my good friend 😄<br/>We tried the nasi lemak and soup noodle! It was yum!!!<br/>I was pleasantly surprised. I think they only do nasi lemak on certain days ❤️
Laine Lee
Haha! Malaysian food in cafe place. Their Sunday's Hainanese Chicken Rice is a must try! One of the best in Melbourne for that true authentic taste (better than the original in Malacca). Sorry, if i am exaggerating. But can't blame me cos i craved for true Malaysian food. <br/>Lovely cafe and i liked their filter coffee on ice ball 💕. If u have friends who want some Aussie food and another friend wants asian, then this is the place! Thumbs up to this place 👍!
Amber Lip
- great cafe with an asian twist<br/>- the staff are super friendly and seem to converse frequently with customers <br/>- I ordered the hong kong waffles which took about 20 minuets to come <br/>- I did not enjoy this dish as much as I would have liked to, the waffle was quite hard and the flavours werent that great- alone and together; although very aesthetically pleasing <br/>- however the matcha latte here is amazing! <br/>- I feel like the waffles were a one time miss at this place, I would defs come again to try something else
Ian Teh
A warm, lovely cafe with delicious Asian street foods. The ingredients were generous, high quality and treated with care and respect. Great place.

Came here expecting an Italian inspired menu due to the name, though i was surprised to see the menu had an asian fusion in western style dishes. As soon as we walked in, we were hit with a stench of a deep frying oil mixed with prawn smell which really put us off. However, the longer we sat there, the stench disappeared probably because we got used to it however that night i was told i had a bit of smell. <br/><br/>We all ordered the Samurai burger which was pretty darn big with a very generous serving of sweet potato chips. However, i ordered the burger because it said it had "sweet and spicy peanut sauce" which i did not taste at all... The burger was definitely filling as I wasn't even that hungry by the time dinner rolled around and i ate the burger around 1pm.<br/><br/>The drinks came out very quick though the food took a bit of time even though there weren't many other customers. The service wasn't fantastic as when we walked in, it took a while for them to attend to us even though there were only 3 small groups of customers seated at tables.<br/><br/>Overall, the dish combinations seemed quite unique and creative, and considering i work just a few hundred metres away from this cafe, i wouldn't mind coming back to try a different dish.
My Thats Tasty
Gone downhill since a firing of staff. Young male on coffees made ours and others less than Luke warm. Another lady complained and was given a replacement - still cold. She inevitably just asked for hot milk to add herself. Food took a crazy crazy long time. Do not arrive starving. We finished our coffees and would have bought 2 more (if they were any good) in the time we were waiting. I almost intervened with the wait staff as he had taken our order and sat down to talk with friends before putting our meals through. After the wait I must admit the food is absolutely fantastic. However due to the lack of service, the wait and poor coffee we have taken our business elsewhere.
Applebanana
Loved their Asian specials selection. The chicken rice which comes round in shape is yum. Daughter loved her laksa curry noodles and hubby enjoyed his special of the day. Noticed a new menu for the Western selection which are priced below $20 .. mental note to self to try those next time!
Drooberius
Very interesting menu that has a mix of Asian and Western dishes. The restaurant is neat and interestingly decorated and the staff are friendly and accommodating. The big breakfast is very good value and we came on a Sunday to especially try the Hainanese chicken rice ball dish which did not disappoint. Also recommended is the 'Shibuya matcha toast'. Worth a visit!
Amimi
I loved the mixture of Malaysian and Cafe food in one place!  Drove all the way here to try the special Hainanese Chicken Rice, smooth chicken, excellent sauce and the novelty rice balls - just like Malaysia.  I also tried the Thai salad which needs refinement, the salad was too coarsely cut and tasted like something you could do at home. <br/><br/>Recently been infatuated with their Curry Laksa!  It's the best in the whole of east & south east of Melbourne.
Been?Here
Dined in during a quiet late morning period in this lovely, clean small cafe. Attracted by the specials menu but still ordered the hearty Big Breakfast and Long Black. Well presented overall for food, ambience and service. Will hope to come back again. The only thing was I overstayed on my 1/2 hr parking just in front of the cafe and caught a hefty ticket 😩.
Alex
Impressive chicken rice balls for today special !! Generous portion ! Great coffee as usual!! Love the seamless beans from Sensory lab. Like their attitude, always listen to customer.
Leth
Been there a few times but each time their food standard got worse. The first time we had the pancake, it was really nice. Went back a few months later for the same pancake, it was dry, doughy and awful to eat. The salmon too, it was really good and then subsequent time the standard deteriorated. I could see the rockets were old and turning yellow. Food standard was inconsistent. Not going back again.

Might be the go to cafe in Doncaster East.... <br/><br/>Great conversion from its former glory, Graceland cafe, cafe with the art latte.<br/><br/>Some serious coffee beans and espresso machine in the house.<br/><br/>Foodwise, 4.5/5 for the $18 Cornfritter and 2.5/5 for the Happy & Cheese Croissant. <br/><br/>Great work by lone ranger front staff Nadia in handling 20 Customers by herself supported by young barista Jarred at lunchtime.
Jasonfff
Coffee on point today. Bacon egg and hash always good🖒🖒Sourdough salmon i think needs abit of variety/sides and less rocket. Staff friendly and professional as usual :)
Rob Turney
Terrible.. Small cafe that looked promising for lunch but waited 45mins for our food that was very average and expensive. Kids meals were just frozen food like you get from supermarket. Beef "salad" consisted of an average peice of beef in chinese style sauce just with rocket on the side. Chicken sandwich was not too bad in flavour and size. Coffee beans had good flavour but were over extracted and had a bitter aftertaste. Other customs who ordered after us finished their food before we got ours. $60 for small lunch of average quality and a 45min wait i cant recommend going here.
Brendan Thurling
Absolute rubbish!! Ask for a ham and salad roll, got a toasted ham and cheese sandwich with a container of salad, went back they tried again, got a toasted ham and cheese sandwich with abit of lettuce and tomato 25 minutes this took... walked out put it in the bin and went to the bakery up the road for the best roll I've had, waste of $14 go to the bakery don't waste your money here... if i could give a lower score of 1.0 i would.
Olivia
My go-to when I'm looking for my healthy brekkie fix - the 'Valencia Garden' is insanely delicious and I haven't seen anything like it in any other local cafe. Fritters and pumpkin focaccia are also really tasty. Only criticism is limited veg options on the lunch menu - luckily brekkie is available all day!
Paul-Anthony
Nice suburban Cafe. Modern Fitout, giving you that Melbourne Cafe feel. Customer service was excellent very hospitable and accommodating to children. Coffee and food was average. Portions not as generous as other reviewers made it out to be. Prices and menu standard.
Randle
The food comes in generous serving sizes and it tastes delicious. There is a good selection of menu options. I've been impressed with their service each time I've been.

I'm pretty fussy with my coffee. I suss out the place first before ordering, type of beans, type of milk, type of equipment, whether they have a milk cleaner, barista's attitude etc and this place meets it all! They use excellent beans and decent milk, plus the barista really knows his coffee! <br/><br/>It's my go to Coffee place for when I can't be bothered making my own coffee at home. <br/><br/>Keep up the great coffee Valencia !
Crispybacon
Great new local cafe.<br/><br/>Serve is friendly and efficient-Water offered, newspapers available and even blankets if you're sitting outside!<br/><br/>Coffee is good, really good! You can also experiment with drip filtered coffee too.<br/><br/>Breakfast menu offers good variety but I did find it a little costly for a local place.<br/><br/>Open nice and early, 7 days a week!
YC C
Had a great time there with family last week. Food and service were outstanding! Highly recommend the burgers, corn fritters and crab cakes we had. Great coffee and atmosphere too!
Andrew Chan
Had late lunch at the cafe on a Sunday. The service, food and the general atmosphere cafe was great! I had the soft shell crab burger and it was so good, the crab was crispy and meaty, went well with the sauce. I wanted salad instead of fries and they gladly swapped for me. Will be going back for more!
Vivacious Lady
Tried this cafe for the first time and I'm really happy. Eggs were cooked well and coffee delicious. Service with a smile and friendly banter. I'll be back. <br/>

Tried this new cafe for the first time last week and was very disappointed. The decor was beautiful and the place had all the potential to be an amazing place but sadly the food was a let down. The pancakes was so dry we almost choked on it!! The eggs Benedict didn't fare any better - that sauce was just so unpleasant to eat. The coffee was ok but nothing special. The people running it seems nice enough so I hope they can make it work.

Superb new restaurant in East Doncaster. Enjoyed sensational crab cakes, the 'best' carbonara, succulent encrusted lamb loin , delicious field mushrooms over a brilliant ratatouille & melt in your mouth prune stuffed chicken breast. Presentation of the dishes was incredible, service by Joanne - faultless! Do yourself a favour & give this place a go!
Sonya
We've had breakfast and dinner here and were very impressed. The staff are very attentive and food is amazing. I drink a lot of chai and I must say their chai latte is one of the best I've had. My husband loved the coffee too. Can't wait to go back!! This place is a must try!!!
VegieGirl
This cafe has all the foundations of a good breakfast spot, but there are some obvious teething problems present. I ordered a soy flat white, but was served a full cream milk flat white. Owning a hospitality business means that you need to be aware of dietary requirements. I ordered the sweet corn fritters, which on the menu are listed as "sweet corn fritters with avocado, quinoa, roquette, and two poached eggs". It was disappointing when my meal arrived covered in feta! If you had simply listed the item on the menu, I could have asked to have to removed. My friend who is also dairy intolerant is now suffering because there was milk in your scrambled eggs. Your fritters were delish, so you'll get one more chance from me.

26 August 2017:<br/>From 18 July till today, I have patronised Valencia more than 10 times. I go for their Saturday kuih muih (Malaysian desserts) Sunday breakfasts (latte, toasts) or kai si hor fun (chicken noodles) mid week, hainanese chicken rice on Sundays /Mondays or nasi lemak available on Fridays and Saturdays. Service is good and attentive. Newspapers (Heraldsun and The Age) are available for your reading whilst seeping latte. I am happy exiting this Cafe each time <br/><br/>18 July 2017:<br/>Valencia has new management: Malaysians. I have been here many times over the last two months. I loved their latte and Malaysian desserts, available Saturdays. Today I had prawn noodles, the popular Malaysian dish called hor fan (thin flat white noodles). The broth, made from two ingredients, prawn heads and brown dried cuttle fish strips was exotic and yummy. The medium sized prawns were fresh, no preservative tasted, and the hor fan itself was fun: soft and silky. Definitely a 5 * for this dish<br/><br/>Patronised this Cafe/restaurant for the first time on Thursday 26 November 2015. The coffee was good and the meals were delicious. Service was great but food came out very late, more than 30 mins. All up it took us more than an hour. When we returned to our cars, an illegal parking infringement notice was on our car windscreens. So be warned, the idiotic money making machine called Manningham City Council installed a half an hour parking sign, we missed seeing. The restaurant management didn't remind us of the half hour parking. How restaurants on this linear shopping strip in Blackburn Road, Doncaster East can allow the City Council to permit only 30 mins baffles me. Fine imposed $74.

I had breakfast this week at the recently opened Valencia Cafe & Kitchen and I loved it! My friend and I were greeted by Todd, one of Valencia's waiters, who made sure we had everything we needed, and made our dining experience a fantastic one. Drinks were on the agenda first. I had a cappuccino made with beans from Monk Bodhi Dharma and it was a good quality coffee. My friend had a chai tea which was perfection with frothed milk and loose leaf tea. Food wise I ordered the Pancakes which turned out to be a large pancake in the style of Top Paddock's famous Hot cake. The pancake came with fresh blueberries and strawberries, mascarpone, toasted pistachio, mint and maple syrup. I absolutely loved it! My friend ordered the Crispy Corn Fritters which tasted like a delicious corn filled dream and came with mixed herbs, avocado, rocket and not one but two poached eggs. The food was extremely impressive as was the fit out of the place. Valencia has a modern look mixed with vintage chairs, marble tables and a very interesting light feature. The menu is very reasonably priced. I was impressed by Valencia and I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu! My only grievance was that they only accept cash at this stage.<br/><br/>*Since posting the review Valencia accept EFT as well as cash.
