My go-to favourite Fish & Chip shop! The owners are extremely friendly and their fish are super fresh and very tasty! Consistent standard always.

🔆LOCATION🔆

Captain Gummy’s Fish & Chips is situated in the busy Tunstall Square shopping precinct. This shop has been around for over 15 years, but have changed ownerships in recent years.

Captain Gummy is on the opposite side of Coles where all the rows of shops are and situated next to the Post Office, behind the petrol station. Ample parking is available.

🔆SERVICE🔆

The couple that own the shop are extremely friendly and always smiling. Even though this time we are wearing face masks, you can tell how happy and excited they are talking to customers.
Although there is maximum limit of 4 people inside the shop, everyone was quite courteous and waited outside which was great.
The owner was also very nice and came out of the shop with customer order! Now that is service!

🔆MENU/PRICE🔆

For lunch I ordered:
2 x Flake Fish at $7.50 each
Minimum chips, $5.00

With the chips there is option to have sea salt or chicken salt. I always alternate between the two and this time its sea salt!

I was contemplating whether to get the meal pack for Two:
2 flakes, 2 potato cakes, 2 dim sims and chips for $22.00 but knew that we wouldn’t be able to finish it. So will definitely consider this pack when I have a more hungry stomach haha!!

🔆VERDICT🔆

The flake fish was very generous in size. Nicely battered and fried and inside was very fresh and moist. It was a delight to eat. Actually wanted to eat another piece of fish lol.

The minimum chips was actually massive, super generous servings as well. We couldn’t finish them all, only was able to finish half. Next time, I will order half of the minimum chips for $3.00.

What I love is that they take a lot of care in wrapping the order and I like that they don’t use a cardboard box inside as a lot of other Fish and Chip shops do that and often the chips are very minimal too.
I love going to Captain Gummy’s for Fish and Chips. Always consistent in service and food quality.
