Nice local Greek food. Generous portion sizes and good friendly service. This place is suitable for large groups. We liked the dips and saganaki.
Recently dined here with a large group. The most easiest way to go with a large group was one of the set banquets. Our chief waiter was very accomodating when a few of our group chose to order off the a la carte menu. We grouped ourselves into banquet diners & non banquet diners to make it easier with the shared plates. At $49pp we chose the standard banquet. For this, between each group of four, we received a crusty loaf of bread with a selection of 5 dips, pan-fried ‘saganaki’ cheese, grilled spicy sausage and dolmathes - which were quite pleasant but I am undecided whether they were made commercially or house-made. Didn’t taste brined so don’t believe they came from a can. Next up came a mound of tender fried calamari and one decent sized char-grilled prawn per person. Both were well cooked & flavoursome. A fresh typical Greek salad accompanied. The next serve was the meat-platter. This unfortunately let the whole meal down. It consisted of lamb & chicken gyros & char-grilled pork fillet. The lamb & chicken had a strong gamey meat taste & smell and dare I say, almost a slimy texture which I found really unpleasant. The pork fillet was quite thin & cooked within an inch of its life making it extremely tough & chewy. It also had a strong taste & smell. Not sure of the meat platter’s freshness to be honest. The meat was accompanied by some nicely cooked lemon roast potatoes. The sweet was a bowl of tasty doughnut balls accompanied by Halva ice-cream. Not really a sweets person but quite enjoyed this followed by a strong Greek coffee. The service was prompt & friendly. Our main server was pleasant enough with a dry, straight-faced humour. However it was the blonde waitress that made the evening for us. She was engaging & funny and enjoyed interacting with everyone at the table while still keeping up the pace of serving on a busy night. Honestly, she upped my score by one. The unpleasant meat platter really was a deal breaker for me.
Great local Greek restuarant. Can get very busy and loud. Also can be a bit squashy as they fit lots of people in on Saturday nights. Food was good, would recommend and come back.
Came here on Friday with a group of 14 for our Christmas kringle and were not disappointed. We ordered the banquet and all the dishes were cooked perfectly. The octopus, the sausages and the saganaki were fantastic. The seafood platter was exceptional and the chicken skewers were excellent. The best dish of the night were the loukoumades. We stuffed ourselves with these and virtually rolled out of the restaurant. Overall the service and the food were great. Will definitely come back in the New Year.
We had a birthday celebration with a group of family & friends. We had the banquet, fantastic food and so much of it. Everything was cooked to perfection. The grilled octopus was to die for, the saganakia was the actual kefalograviera cheese (and thankfully not the squeaky haloumi cheese that others use). Seafood platter, meat platter...yum.. and the loukomathes...yum yum We love our traditional Greek taverna food and we had some fussy guests, no one complained, everyone was so impressed and delighted with the food they ate. And the price was very reasonable for what was provided for us. Well done Mythos House. Will definitely come back here again...
Occasion - pre Christmas get together with group of friends.
Restaurant ambience - busy, humming with high level of energy and comfortable.
Foods - yummy Greek cuisine, sufficient, filling (look can be deceiving)
Service - quick service, prompt arrival of foods, friendly service even though it was very busy. We stayed until the restaurant was closed at midnight, we didn't feel pressured to leave.
Price - reasonably priced
Revisit - for sure!!!
We’ve driven past so many times and seen this place so busy! While tonight (being a Sunday on Cup weekend) was pretty quiet we’re glad we finally stopped by. A group of seven celebrating a birthday...
We started with mixed dips (two for the table) with warm fluffy home made bread... we moved on to two meat platters, a seafood platter and a Greek salad. It was actually too much to eat... the food was tasty, the seafood chargrilled and the calamari a stand out (definitely a favourite for the kids). The only negative was that the service became inattentive - After the food came out we were very much left to it and an apologetic possibly owner came with water when we eventually went to fetch our own - then chased down the bill.
On the whole we couldn’t fault the food and that’s what we came for. We might roll in again on an empty stomach - we’ll be sure to roll back out, or maybe just order a bit less!!!!
Had dinner here for the first time and ill be back!
1. You can book
2. It’s spacious
3. The food is fresh and TASTY we had the banquet!
4. Value for money
I love the fountain out the front too
4.5/5
We visited here on a Friday night, quite early. We were warmly greeted and seated by a man I assume is the owner. Lovely guy! We ordered the banquet with the addition of the rockling fish to the seafood.
Started with the dips, saganaki, dolmades, charred octopus and Greek sausage ... all delicious and cooked extremely well! Only thing is, I prefer pita bread over bread with dips - in saying that the bread was warm and fresh..
continued on with the Seafood platter of fresh and delicate calamari, 2 juicy prawns and the rockling.. all cooked perfectly.. then the meat platter of lamb gyros - not fatty at all, tasty and cooked well, 2 juicy pink lamb cutlets and 2 chicken skewers... oh and lemon potatoes and Greek salad..
we finished off with loukoumades (Greek donuts in honey) and delicious nutty ice cream ... we were too excited and I didn’t take a picture - apologies!
Can’t wait to come back and try other things on the menu :)
Excellent location and friendly staff, mainly the welcoming Boss
The grilled are really good including the seafood but the portion of the appetisers are small
We ordered the dips, the feta cheese in filo pastry entre and gyro chocken and chicken souvlaki and everything was perfect. Would definitely recommend.
The food was absolutely scrumptious. The meat was juicy and tender. The potatoes melted in your mouth! The service was fantastic. George the owner was really friendly and accomodating. Desserts to die for, so make sure you leave room. The decor is so clean and inviting.
The food was beautiful. A group of four......a warm welcome at the door and prompt sitting at our reserved table Water was delivered to the table almost immediately and the order for drinks was taken. From then on we were professionally attended to by a female and two male waiters throughout the evening even though the restaurant was very busy. The garlic prawns for the two ladies were very tastefully cooked and presented, . I would definitely go back.
Really good Greek fare. We had a variety of dishes. The seafood was really enjoyable. Main complaint was that lamb was a bit dry so had to ask for extra Tzatziki. Apart from that the waiters were really keen to take our plates away just as we finished eating, I personally find the hovering a bit off putting.
