Dined for lunch yesterday as part of a large car club group. Ordered the cheesy garlic bread & honey garlic salmon fillet salad. Both were delicious. Service friendly. Was great that for a large group of 14 we could all pay for our food & drinks separately at the end. Hope to return back to try other menu items.
I always enjoy my visits to Middels - especially when it's a beautiful day/night and you can sit on the balcony in the fresh air.
On my most recent visit my sister and I shared a few tapas items - meatballs, calamari, sweet potato wedges and satay skewers. The calamari and satay skewers were both of our favourites.
My Mum ordered the pumpkin risotto and my Dad ordered the lamb cutlets. A plate of garlic bread was also shared between the four of us.
We were all very happy with our meals.
The service really good and the meals came out fairly quickly.
I've dined here a few times and found the food and coffee to be lovely each time. Only complaint would I give is that with the ceasar salad - grilled chicken would be much nicer, however it was still excellent. It's a great atmosphere whether I just feel like having a few drinks and chats with some friends or even sitting down for a meal with a family. Staff are always nice and friendly, and I will continue to return here as I enjoy myself every time :)
Have been here several times. Really enjoyed our tapas selection of arancini balls (flavoursome and crunchy coating), squid (very tender) and scallops on cauliflower purée (large scallops, nice flavour, would've liked a bit more purée). Food came out fast and the service was friendly. Coffees were good too. Would return.
Been here a number of times and we are never let down. We came in Thursday night for tapas we ordered a huge selection. It came out a little slow but was worth the wait. The pork belly was cooked perfectly, the rest was perfect as well.
My father and step-mother brought my husband and I out to lunch here, with a caveat that Dad had been here once and - rather like the low reviews below - had a not-great experience. But we gave it another shot, and I'm really glad we did. We had tapas.
The service was great, the food was excellent (special props to the haloumi and the squid), and also came out quite quickly. We got some excellent drink recommendations (reportedly - I had Diet Coke so can't speak to the wine or beer but apparently they were very good). Prices quite reasonable / standard for tapas too.
I would recommend the place and giving it another shot. I don't know what's changed, but it's pretty fantastic today.
Middels is great!!. We went for dinner. It was service with a smile. The food was delicious but the coffee definitely needs some working on.
Great for brekkie lunch or dinner!. We have made this little spot a regular visit for us. Reliable coffee, yummy food, friendly staff, great atmosphere. I have tried most things on the menu and i have seldom been dissapointed. Brekkie, lunch, tea, light meal, tapas, or a hearty winter dish, they do it all here, and do it all well. Not to mention the amaazing cakes they have for dessert. yum!
Each time is a pleasure! Lovely to find a restaurant that is classy and fine dining, also reasonably priced. Most enjoyable is that there is more than 1 vegetarian option - refreshing!!
Good for location.. I like Drouin, there just isn't much in the way of eating out options! Middels is sufficient, I don't think the food is spectacular, but is definitely yummy. The tapas are nice to share, a little overpriced, but I think if you are in Drouin, Middels is worth a visit (no other options that match the kind of cafe/bistro food that Middels serves). Give it a try!
