This is not just a dinner, but an amazing experience. The food is locally sourced and whipped up into a 6 course degustation menu by the award winning head chef Greg Egan. The changing scenery through the carriage windows was highlighted by a stunning sunset as we headed to Queenscliff. The staff were friendly and attentive and the train has been lovingly restored. Would highly recommend for a special occasion ... or any occasion!
Definitely recommend doing the lunch train as you see how beautiful the countryside is. Food is beautiful, would have loved to have seconds of the pork and desserts - they were super delish! The waiting staff were knowledgeable about the food, obviously enjoy their jobs. A most pleasurable day out.
What a fantastic journey! The experience is excellent; clap to the chef and big shout-out to Georgia for her exceptional service, the food is extraordinary, as you can see in the pics, and the wine-food matching option is a MUST. If you are heading to the Bellarine area, give it a try! Enjoy it, mates :)
Had such a fantastic time. Food was delicious, wine complimented every dish. Liam was a fabulous server with vast knowledge of the accompanying beverages. Thank you Liam!!
Unfortunately timing was a issue for us to be able to enjoy our coffee. That was the o my downside.
Beautiful relaxed experience. Food was great. Having a nice cold beer while enjoying the changing scenery is lovely.
Such a lovely experience. Good for special occasions. Get a First class private carriage if you can afford.
What a wonderful experience! From the ferry ride to the red carpet at the train the day was amazing.
The food and matched wines, beers or mocktails were delightful.(I'm running out of adjectives).
The service was so good and to add to our experience, I lost an earring. The staff found it under the train and retrieved it. Thank you so much Liam and especially Shazz.
Went First Class degustation menu. Absolute value for money. The staff bent over backwards to look after us. Very polite. The menu and wine match was very good, not chef hat level, but you're in a carriage pulled by an old steam loco. There are more drinks options availab too. Do it. It's fun and keeps the wheels turning.
