We had a very entertaining time here tonight! The food was to die for. The scotch fillet with pomme frites and red wine jus... amazing! The best steak I have ever had. And the vanilla creme brûlée with the raspberry compote was delicious! I know the others at our table enjoyed their meals too! Great food, great staff, and a great night. Thank you Veldt! Dubbo is lucky to have a restaurant of this quality!
Absolutely beautiful food! Couldn't recommend this place highly enough. We came out for a special occasion and were not disappointed. The food was amazing and the restaurant had a lovely intimate feel to it. The staff were friendly and attentive. Couldn't fault it. We will definitely be back!

Have been to Veldt multiple times and they have never disappointed us. We usually stick to the lamb shoulder (10/10) but tonight I tried the chicken and risotto. Was again blown away!

Just loved everything about it-the food was amazing, staff were lovely and didn't have to wait long for our scrumptious meal even though it was quite busy!! Lovely way to celebrate our 20th Anniversary!
Most enjoyable .... A little slow to begin ....took 15 minutes to get water! And then to order.... Chosen wine not available ..... Staff were very polite..... Entree .....the goat cheese in the beetroot combo was over processed ... The scallop dish was delightful but slightly over corned. But the main was over the top .....the lamb dish was to die for ...... And the second pork entree was an experience We will return well done

Looking for a more finer dining experience we chose this restaurant this evening.. very popular....wish we booked much further ahead.. not able to get in until after 8pm on Saturday evening. But worth the wait. Very helpful and well weighted table service through out the evening. Meals well presented and very delicious. Happy to dine here again when next in Dubbo. See photos of mains mushroom and leek pie ad well as char grilled duck.
Took my wife and son to Veldt for my birthday dinner- we had the slow roasted lamb shoulder for two and it was absolutely superb- easily the best Western style meal I've ever had in Dubbo. My wife also had desert and couldn't stop raving about how delicious it was. The service was top notch too- our waitress was lovely- so all in all a wonderful experience and highly recommend. We will be back!

We were surprised we gained a booking as quickly as we did. As we were only in Dubbo a couple of days, we didn't expect you get a booking. We did!
From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted by warm, friendly staff.
The meals were incredibly delicious and wonderfully tasty.
We had not planned on dessert because we were so full from dinner but as they were so highly recommended, we decided to try to squish some in.
The only regret was eating too much.
The deserts were a gastronomic delight!
We were also incredibly impressed that we were never once felt rushed.
The atmosphere was warm, cosy and romantic.
A wonderful experience at Veldt and we will not only be back next time we're in Dubbo, but we've highly recommended to our family and friends.
Dinner wirh friends, recommended as from interstate. Nice ambience, very good service and food. Quite relaxed, not rushed through courses as some restaurants do. Chose 2 seafood entrees as a small eater. Both very nice, well presented and nicely cooked. Tempted into a chocolate sphere for dessert - very decadent and the highlight of the meal for me. Parking at the door. Everyone in group of 6 enjoyed their meal.
Veldt Restaurant was a really good surprise in Dubbo. By the moment you get into the place you are sure that you gonna have an amazing experience. Friendly staff and delicious food. My partner and I had the 3 course meal and it worths every cent. Sublime!
Staff excellent. We ordered chef's recommendation of slow cooked lamb shoulder for 2 people. It was delicious and fresh vegetables well cooked. Only criticism was that potato mash too highly seasoned. Dessert of creme brulee beautiful. Excellent value for money.

Don’t take not of the 2 pathetic reviews below, my wife and I were out for a date night when those disgustingly Mannered individuals we’re tearing shreds of the owner of the business reducing her to tears. Absolutely appalling behaviour, the hospitality industry has copped a pizzelin over the last year with Covid restrictions and you want to belittle and degrade a hard working mother and business owner in front of the whole restaurant of people. Pull your head in, it’s not a cattle truck. I home your Chook house falls down.
As for the restaurant, staff and food. 10/10.. we can not fault our experience and that’s why we keep going back again and again. Highly recommend Veldt restaurant.
