Love this place! It's got a truly no bullshit menu on you don't pay the extra for fancy. The guy who runs this place is really nice and the place is very kid friendly. I make my way from Summer Hill just to come to this cafe

Love this place! The food is always delicious, prices reasonable and the service is excellent. Great place for breakfast or an anytime burger. I heard they're licensed now to serve beer, wine and cider. Worth checking out!

Ordered some delivery from here using Uber Eats. Probably closer towards 4.5 for me.

Rarely order breakfast/brunch items as not sure how well they travel during their delivery but this was a success. Got the Potato And Chorizo Hash. Nice combo of pieces of chorizo and potato. It was served with fried eggs on top. On the side was a very tasty bacon jam and a wonderful piece of house made cornbread (could’ve just scoffed on that alone). The Banana Bacon Maple Pancakes were three pancakes topped with bacon, bananas, and maple syrup. Delicious mix of ingredients!

Well worth ordering from here.

Loved this place. The food was amazing and the premises where clean and inviting. Had a hard
time choosing what to eat because everything looked so good. The staff were super friendly and we really enjoyed talking to Mike, his enthusiasm for making delicious food is evident in the dishes he serves up.
The back room was a nice suprise as well, great place for people with kids to relax and chat and I did note a couple of kids with huge smiles after leaving with one of the amazing cookies on offer!

I would highly recommend a visit to this place!

Mike and Sonia are great hosts. Highly recommend the Big Breakfast and make sure you get the bacon jam and if you manage to get the secret recipe out of Mike please let me know 😀. Oh and make sure you grab some fudge on the way out you'll be pleasently surprised.
Will be back for sure.

My husband and I took our 6 month old son to The Shoe Chef cafe for breakfast. We were able to situate out the back in a nifty lounge area where our pram wasn’t in the way of other patrons and we could enjoy our meals together without worrying whether we were intruding on anyone. After our meal (which was fantastic) we were able to chat to and thank The Shoe Chef himself, Mike, as he was stepping away from the stove to check on how everyone was enjoying their meals.

Love the food and the experience.

Absolutely amazing coffee! They are so accommodating with dietary requirements and the food is to die for. Very affordable too comparatively to other cafes I've visited in the past. Will definitely be back soon!

Went to the Shoe Chef Cafe for lunch with the hubby and was very glad we did.
Not your average burger and the bacon jam was to die for. Could only manage the lightweight burger but that was plenty big enough for me...might be brave and order the full size next time...and there will be a next time.
Owner was a treat and very entertaining, don’t get that at many places but good to see he mingled with his customers and treated them as friends/family. His staff all looked happy as well which made the dining experience more enjoyable.

Ordered through Ubereats, Very happy with the meal. Can't give you any idea on atmosphere but the food is awesome and a little handwritten have a nice day just makes it that little bit nicer. Got to have a laugh at the review on here who gave 1 just because they didn't like the coffee - get some perspective. Top work guys/gals.

Great little cafe with very friendly staff and scrumptious tasting food. I used to work here before I moved to Newcastle and last weekend I caught the train down to enjoy the lovely food and atmosphere. Very good value for money, as the portions are generous. Well worth it!

We are searching for the perfect breakfast burrito in Australia. Today's contender is the Jumbo breakfast burrito from the Shoe Chef Cafe.

The burrito had egg, bacon, hash browns, salsa and guac. I had mine made without eggs. It definitely wasn't what I expected when it arrived. In the end it tasted good. When we go back I will try to get mushrooms or something added to mine to bulk it out a little. The coffee is good.

If anyone knows where we can get a Colorado style green chilli breakfast burrito please let me know.
