came here to have my mother's day brunch with family. nice cosy setting except abit noisy when their juice blender is in use. excellent food. the highlight of all is the 'dirty chai' . it is the best i have ever tried. will return soon for another dirty chai again...
It was very busy in there yet my order was taken quickly by the happy staff and my food arrived swiftly followed by a piping hot coffe which was very tasty. I would recommend it here.

I'm pleased to say that after our disappointing experience last time, that management have acted appropriately with regards to the non performing staff member and contacted us personally to reassure us that that staff member was not representative of their business.
I have since been there two times for a takeaway coffee and a treat (one time a lemon tart, the other time a bacon and egg muffin - both deeeeeeelicious) and I am happy to say that this time it did not disappoint.
Great coffee, yummy food and most importantly, friendly service with a smile.
Hats off to Sparrow's Nest for a job well done. We will be coming back here again.

Very disappointing service this morning at The Sparrows Nest. We ordered our food and coffees. Food took about 10 minutes to come out, still no coffee so asked if they had forgotten. "Coffees are on their way". Another 10 minutes, finished our breakfast and still no coffee.
When we queried it, the staff member said that he just wanted to get the takeaways out of the way and then he would do ours.
He literally served everyone who walked through the door after placing our order before making our coffee, then gave lip when we weren't happy about it.
20 minutes is not an acceptable amount of time to wait for two coffees and any decent barista should be able to handle more than two coffee at a time.
Disappointing indeed that poor service and attitude means we won't be going back in a hurry.
Becoming a bit of a regular. Nice atmosphere friendly staff. Eaten there a couple of times now and food is great. Will be back for more.

How refreshing it is to get great service, great food and great coffee in the one place! We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast stop at the Sparrows Nest. The home made relish accompanying the bacon and eggs was yummy! And my extra hot chai latte was, yes, extra hot. And so nice to get Turkish bread instead of boring old toast. Fantastic experience; we will be back.
Very nice surprise, yummy food and good coffee. Very well priced and all round great experience. Definitely going back and taking friends next time.

We came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, I got the pumpkin bruschetta and it was amazing! My partners croissant was also very good. Couldn’t fault it. Fast, friendly service and decently priced food.

Cute little cafe - going for the laid back / chilled vibe. It's a little stuffy as there's no aircon and the furniture is very outdated - I suppose they're going for that look but the couches did not look nice or comfortable.
Food comes out very quick and the menu is standard brekkie stuff but with a couple of different things. I ended up going for a lunch dish - the Holy Crepe dish with the addition of Avocado. It was very tasty but I hoped the crepe would be bigger (as opposed to being piled with slaw) and I only got half an avocado for $3 - I was expecting a full avocado.
Juices are pricey but fresh tasting (Red Devil is very nice). Staff are friendly.
Friend and I shared the Oreo Brownie which was freaking amazing.
Pretty good value if you use the Entertainment Book voucher.
French toast is unbelievably yummy, it's filling, fluffy and just perfect. I had the spicy sparrow latte and my partner had a crema brûlée latte. 👌👌 Good portions and the atmosphere is great. The staff are friendly and down to earth and the decor is pretty cool. Highly recommend this cafe in Vic Park.
Love the casual, simple & unique setting of the cafe. Breakfast burritos are one of our favourites here, especially the Eggs Benny burrito. Pulled pork sandwich is another good one. Banoffee pie tastes good, but the pastry is a little too soft. Overall, we love the simplicity of the cafe and food, yet prepared well.

Food was delicious and well presented. The Cafe had a nice atmosphere with some light music playing. Staff were nice and attentive to the customers and there was very little wait to receive your meal.
Oh this place is good! Simple yet they have done it beautifully. The coffees are brewed in perfection, the omelette, brekkie burritos and its pulled pork is always our go to menu. It is simple yet very tasty. The ambience is also quite casual and they also have friendly service.

Good customer service. Ordered pulled pork bagel, it was good. Quite a few selections, with small bites to a full meal. The iced mocha i ordered was decent too. Would come again.
I enjoyed my Sparrow's Scramble which was feta scrambled eggs with a toasted bagel. I ordered mine with a side of smoked salmon. The scrambled eggs were creamy and tasty, but I found the chunks of feta that were strewn throughout the scrambled eggs to big. The toasted bagel was delicious- hot and freshly buttered. The smoked salmon was a decent size for $4.
A really great cafe around the corners of Vic Park. Had pancakes and French toast with my French friend. Presentation was pretty decent. Good ambience and friendly staff. Nothing too over the top but it's a good place to chill.
This place is a favourite of mine. I get my usual Sunday coffee here. The service is wonderful, the staff are always so friendly and energetic. I have had the creme brûlée coffee more times than I count and would recommend it to anyone wanting to try something a little different.

best cafe on the strip! scratch that...best cafe in Perth i reckon! flew in from Sydney and wanted nothing more than a nice breakfast to start off the day...and i got better than that. The food was a solid 11/10- spring breakfast was my favourite, my partner had the Avo smash and adored it! The staff were extremely friendly and nice, could even joke with this one girl who just made my day! They were helpful and just lovely all around! They definitely make the atmosphere of the place! its is cozy and quant...the perfect place for a breaky catch up!

After moving to East Victoria Park, I took it upon myself to try out every cafe on the strip. I just love going out for brunch with friends. I have to say, The Sparrow's Nest is most definitely my favourite, hands down.I have been there several times for breakfast and after trying the Avo Smash, I have ordered it every time since. (Most definitely a creature of habit!) The mint is a really great flavour and the whole dish itself is delicious. I thought it might be time to actually go in there for lunch sometime too and it really didn't disappoint. I tried the 'Holy Crepe' which was amazing and best of of all Gluten Free so my partner could actually try some of it too. She had the Steak Sandwich and said it was one of the best ones she's had in a long time. What I love about this cafe, is the quirky decor and a really nice friendly atmosphere. Every time I go in, I get excellent service and I never have to wait too long for my food. I really highly recommend the Sparrow's Nest to anyone looking for their next awesome brunch in Vic Park. 5/5 from me :)
Spacious cafe with a casual vibe. I come here quite often as it still seems to be one of the lesser known cafes, which to be honest, is a good thing for regular customers ;) I always get consistently good food and coffee here. Although service is hit and miss, it's generally courteous.
The food was decent and it was cooked-well with the exception of the omelette. Even then, there was nothing seriously wrong with it. There was nothing fancy about the Sparrow’s Nest and its a brunch spot you do not go to expecting to be wow-ed. Instead it is a place you go to be enjoyed being served a home-style breakfast that you could have made at home. Simply because you can.
Love this place! Brought my mum here and several friends to have brunch. Coffee is always delicious and the Avo smash is soo good! (Little pricey) but I guess that's what you get for good food.
First time coming to this little place in Vic Park. Very pleased with the staff, very friendly and service is great. Ordered the spring brekky. Loved it. The relish is so delicious and the eggs were perfect. The worst thing that can happen is getting poached eggs cooked through which didn't happen here. Coffee is good too. Definitely would reccommend.
My office is closeby here so my colleagues and I usually get take away. The manager is always so friendly to us! The nasi lemak is as authentic as it can be and I really recommend the fried quail. Absolutely delicious.
Good service and great coffee. Dog friendly too which is helpful. I don't rate their food that highly though, it's hit or miss. Some days (like the pancakes) it can be the best in town, other days (like the baked beans) it's nothing special. Still, for the coffee and staff alone it's worth a visit.
So many options in this part of town that you really have to be awesome to stand out. Food here was ok, but not great. Same with the coffee. For example, the vego brekky is always my staple when having brekky out, and this place uses frozen hash browns, and tinned beans. It's not a crime, but given the options available is rather have a great meal than a just ok one.

We've had coffee in the afternoon and lunch here. Fantastic! The staff are friendly without being OTT, the service is fast, the food is perfect and the atmosphere is comfy. What's not to like??? The family took me here for my birthday breaky. Everything was great again, despite my fussy eaters requirements. I had bacon and eggs with hollandaise on the side, he had the breaky muffin, ms veggie had the bruschetta and the teenager had banana crepes. The service was still fast and friendly and the food was fresh, hot and tasty.
On Albany Hwy surrounded by competition, The Sparrow's Nest knows how to come out on top. Got a coffee infused with honey and cinnamon and it was perfect in every way. Can't wait to try the other concoctions they offer, like the creme brûlée coffee! And the food!
As a bonus, the staff are super friendly and accommodating.
Come early if you want a table on the weekend!
Can't fault the food here, this is probably the best brekky I can find on the Albany Highway strip, which is saying something. Friendly service - great juice smoothies too... And they even let me have my eggs scrambled instead of poached for my benny...
It's just a small cafe in vic park but their foods and drinks are excellent. I love their creme brûlée coffee. The decoration of this cafe is lovely. Really nice place to have a cuppa with your friends.
Delicious breakfast, funky atmosphere and pleasant staff. I branched out from my regular flat white to a more adventurous coffee on their menu and wasn't disappointed. They scrambled my husband's eggs benedict for him, unusual request but no problem at all. Staff here are friendly and service was quick. This place is always busy! We'll be back :)
Staff were lovely and they did a superb job with the almond milk cappuccino. A little wait on food, I had the omelette, but it was delicious and extremely filling!
I had breakfast at this trendy little cafe and I was nothing short of impressed. The Eggs Benny (poached eggs, on toasted English muffin, hollandaise and salmon) was expertly cooked and beautifully presented. Their range of designer coffees was also impressive (I went for the spicy sparrow - coffee with spices added with a distinctive taste of nutmeg). For the quality of food you are getting, the price is very reasonable.Being only a 5 minute walk from my house, this place will definitely become a regular.

We decided to try this place out on a Saturday morning. First tick was that we could make a reservation for the six of us although it did take numerous attempts for them to even to contact us back to confirm it. The crema brûlée coffee was interesting with a sugar coating to crack through before drinking it. It was worth tasting but as expected, it was on the sweet side. The chorizo omelette was tasty although the pieces of chorizo were diced quite small and it would have been nicer with larger chunks. Friends had the French toast, no lunch brekkie and the ginger kiss fresh juice, there were no complaints there. Worth a visit.
I enjoyed the pancakes. It was delicious. Creme brûlée coffee did not make the cut for me. As the brûlée was not successful. I think their average coffees taste nicer. So stick to their average coffees. Overall nice place to hang out with friends. Good service from the owners.

Best cafe in Vic park. I have been a Vic park girl mist of my life, and having eaten at a bunch of cafes along the strip, I can safely say that this is up there with the best. Great service, great menu, fantastic coffee, and the staff are super friendly and nice. My new regular :-)
A quaint little nest indeed!. I had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast with my young family last weekend. I had heard a lot about this place but as I live north of the river, I hadn't yet been down. After calling ahead and booking a table, we had everything ready for when we arrived including a high-chair for the baby. We were seen to immediately and ordered breakfast and drinks. With the mother-in-law along for the ride as well, I was hoping that the food would be as good as their coffee. And it was. Perfectly cooked poached eggs on delicious bread with fresh vegetables on the side was superb. The little ones enjoyed their toast and jam and babycino whilst the adults were certainly more than satisfied!
The decor, general vibe and service at The Sparrow's Nest was 10/10. Best chai latte I've ever had as well.
Yummm.came here for coffee and breakfast. Thought it was a bit pricey but none the less, it was worth it! Glad to see a coffee shop have something a little different on the drinks menu. Try the sparrows specials in the drinks menu, sweet sparrow is awesome. Also great service :)
I love this place!!! The Sparrow’s Nest is the kind of café that I fell in love when I was in my teens. It’s funky vibe and cool décor (including a piano in the corner) that includes a combination of tables and chairs as well as sofas which makes it a perfect spot to enjoy a Saturday lunch with friends. My friends and I scored a spot on the sofa at the back. I went for the Chicken (with a bit of bacon and I think cheese) wrap which warmed to perfection. My fiends shared a plate of nachos which was plenty for two. They chose to add Pulled Pork to their Mexican which complimented the cheese and sauce. The coffee was nice. While it didn’t have the power kick that coffee from other cafés give but it was still well made and tasted great. The Sparrow’s Nest staff are friendly, efficient and they did well during a busy Saturday rush.
Great decor, chilled out atmosphere, friendly staff who love to walk around and chat while they look after you and then we get to the coffee. As a coffee lover all I can say is, the coffee is REALLY good. But do yourself a favour and try some of their brilliant specialty coffee's. I have to recommend the sweet sparrow and the fabulous crema brûlée
Pulled pork bun to die for!. Not sure what the two previous reviews below are talking about?? Mate not sure where you were eating. I heard the Sparrow's rave review on the radio and thought best to check it out. Just left full to the brim and have to say if you try anything, it has to be the pulled pork bun. Delicious ladies, love the style of the cafe too a great place to chill out.

Good coffee!. I was in this afternoon to grab a long black take-away...I love my coffee & own a cafe & always a bit hesitant to buy coffees on the rare occasions I make it out usually on a Sunday arvo.
I've had disappointing coffees along the strip - it seems that Sunday arvo is not a good coffee time but not today...
Instantly I liked the vibe & the friendly service plus my coffee preference was acknowledged (I wasn't told this is the way we do long blacks as I've been told a bit further down the strip on the other side!). Plus I wasn't charged a full milk coffee price...hallelujah...and most importantly I thoroughly enjoyed my coffee. Fair enough it wasn't organic but the green bean coffee machine wasn't on today!

We randomly popped in early on Sunday morning and really enjoyed our breakfast of crispy Bacon Donut Waffles, Smashed Pumpkin Bruschetta with bacon and Eggs.
Good coffee and service. Just happy to find a place that serves full breakfast these days. Tasty food and amazing juices as well. Croque Madame was just a little soft throughout and so it lacked texture, no crunch. Still yum though and finished the meal and felt very happily full. Almost 5 stars however happy to recommend for sure.
Good food, great price, absolutely fantastic atmosphere. Was so happy to find this place, will most likely be back again - and I don't live in Perth.
