I really like the old menu with tofu and the bun. A little bit mix between Vietnamese cuisine and western style cuisine. Kinda interesting!

Takeaway
Item: vermicelli salad - fried tofu
A good balance of vermicelli and greens, the crushed peanuts and mint really gave the dish a lot of texture. Fried tofu was a bit bland, maybe freshly fried tofu would have elevated the dish. I would recommend this dish, however it is on the pricey side at $19 for a serving of 1.
Love coming here for the Hanoi spring rolls and the satisfying bowls of Pho. Friendly snappy service too. Warning: the sate sauce accompaniment is highly addictive!

This place is great for some good quality Vietnamese cuisine. I got the coconut poached chicken salad - it was really fresh with lots of different textures. The size was also quite large and I couldn’t finish it. Definitely a place I would revisit. The only thing I would say it is slightly on the more expensive side.
You will definitely be impressed if visiting Hanoi Hannah! Firstly, I love the menu - it's just so innovative and I found it hard to choose. I went for the Aromatic Yellow Curry which was delicious. I wanted more! My partner had the market fish which was great also and did have an authentically Vietnamese taste.
The definitely do great drinks here also. I had a fresh coconut which I enjoyed (as you don't find that everywhere in Melbourne) and the Hanoi Mojito which was full of flavour and super refreshing.
It really is a great place to be on a hot summers evening. Vietnamese, some nice cocktails and a good atmosphere - what more could you want?
Well done team!
Fantastic food and service. I personally like all the dishes we ordered especially the roasted duck dish! I was surprised that it’s perfect with fried crunchy noodles. The price comes a bit of expensive but overall it’s a good place to go if you haven’t tried yet.
Came here on a Monday night for a birthday. We booked for 5. It was very busy for a Monday which is a sign the restaurant is very popular!
Salmon tartare was fresh, zesty and tangy. The cracker provided a textural element that made the dish a standout. Red oil wontons were tasty but the lime and pepper squid is a must! We also ordered the canh chua which was delegate and well balanced. I would honestly just return for this dish- amazing! Another dish to try is the dry aged roast duck which had very different flavours to every other dish we ordered. It was also very generous in the duck portion. If you’re looking for a healthy and fresh side don’t look past the herb salad. It looks unassuming but boy does it pack a punch.
This is the best Vietnamese food I’ve had in a long time and I just wish I lived closer to Hanoi Hannah. I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu!
Loved this place so much that I was there two days in a row. The first time I came with a friend for a nibble and a tipple, and the next day, I came back for dinner with another friend.
A few of the cocktails here are influenced by Asian flavours, with ingredients such as palm sugar, kaffir lime leaves, coconut milk, chillies and the likes. I had the Coconut + Palm Sugar Crush, and the Monitor, and both hit the spot. The distinctive taste of the starring ingredients really jumps out at you, and an absolute pleasure to drink.
The salmon tartare kicked off the meal with a bang. The light and delicate flavours helped ready our palate for what was to come. It was zesty, zingy and the crackers made for great texture.
The yellow curry was so moreish and actually went better with the bread that came with the braised beef. Slightly sweet, incredibly aromatic, and with layers of flavours that all come together beautifully. The braised beef was just as flavourful, with its deep savoury flavours, but one or two chunks of beef was a tad dry. Those that weren't though, were a picture of tender and moist perfection.
I was torn between the tiramisu and the fried ice cream, and settled on the latter with the intention to come back a 3rd time for the tiramisu. Not a bad choice I must say, as the lemongrass caramel and custard helped jazzed up the simple fried ice cream. I wasn't able to detect the taste of lemongrass though.
The staffs here are all so approachable and helpful, and with food and drinks that delicious, it was no wonder that this place was packed even on a freezing cold weeknight.

I’m sorry Miss Hannah, I am pho real! psyched to have finally tried this place after walking past it too many times. the Vietnamese coffee was really reminiscent of Asia!

✅ Recommended: Pork spring rolls
💬 Review: really love the chilled ambience and friendly people who work here. If there’s one thing Hanoi Hannah gets right, it’s their spring rolls.. It was crispy, and the mince pork fillings were jam packed with flavour. Just. So. Good!!
We also ordered Vietnamese chicken rice and xo pho egg noodles, which came with pork and prawn. The pho soup was a little sweeter than usual and the pork tasted much better than the prawns. The chicken rice had generous amounts of salad and chicken. I found rice to be slightly dry and could do with a little bit more seasoning. If you don’t eat as much rice, it would be good to reduce rice portions to prevent food wastage. All in all, a good experience and I’ll be back!

We went for a late lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our experience there. The waitress was super friendly. We’re so glad she gave us recommendations on what to order as we weren’t sure about the portion of the dishes. The lemongrass curry was full of flavour and perfect with rice. We also love the beef vermicelli salad! The beef was so nice and soft! Would love to try other dishes next time.
Decided to meet a friend here to try the new place out. The interior is great with the front tables the perfect place to enjoy some food while soaking in the sun. I ordered the curry and it was absolutely warm flavorful and left me feeling warm and full. Just like the perfect hug. Due to it's popularity the weekends tend to get busy so recommended make a booking beforehand if a larger group. Otherwise the wait is Definitely worth it. will be coming back for sure especially as It's in my local area
Easy parking at rear... friendly staff, good service, nice atmosphere, busy place. We sat outside at the front on the street, the food was great we would visit again.
It's great to see another trendy and popular eating establishment in Glen Huntley Rd! We enjoyed our experience tonight at Hanoi Hannah.
As we arrived, the place was completely packed and absolutely buzzing. We put our name down and were asked to return in 10 minutes. We sat in the outside area under the heaters which we weren't too pleased about as it was extremely warm.
The table as well was quite small and I felt a bit uncomfortable to converse with my partner. We ordered the charcoal chicken vermicelli salad, the tofu and egg plant and buns and finally the duck. The waitress who served was attentive and was caring in regard to my partner's nut allergy.
The food was excellent – everything was tasty and well-presented. Our favourite dish was definitely the vermicelli salad; the chicken was cooked to perfection and the salad ingredients were vibrant and fresh.
They also have a wide range of cocktails and other alcoholic beverages and so most likely will return for a casual drink.
#VEGAN FRIENDLY# I had the pleasure of coming here while they were still an outlet opposite Elsternwick station. food was fresh and flavoursome, and the staff were really friendly and accommodating. I’m looking forward to reviewing the new restaurant.
Delicious & good tucker! You MUST order the rice paper rolls when you come here as they are bomb and done soooo well! Plus they have some tasty more heartier meals if that’s your jam also! A must try!
Met up with one of my girlfriend last night for an early dinner at Hanoi Hannah in Elsternwick. Place is small but very trendy and with an outdoor area. It was a lovely place to dine and catch-up with friends. I heard it’s usually pretty busy. However, luckily because we’re like old grannies, we went to dinner at 6pm… So, it was pretty empty. It was a great. Our movie was at 6:45pm. From ordering, to having our meals delivered and stuffing everything down our throats, we only had 45 minutes.
Yesterday I was in the area and decided to pop into Elsternwick's Hanoi Hannah! The location was good (right near the train station) with ample parking. The atmosphere of the restaurant wasn't what I expected when compared to the larger Windsor restaurant which has a buzzing electric vibe! However, the food was great. The flavours were rich, spicy, and refreshing. The food wasn't too heavy which made for a great lunch-time meal! They were fast with delivering the meals - although, the staff could have been more enthusiastic!
Had a great time. Good comedy from the servers. There are many vegan options which made deciding difficult cos it’s all yum! Will return for more
Pork Belly Banh Mi here is fantastic. Nice cozy spot walking distance from the train station with nice music vibes 😋👌

I have been to Hanoi Hannah in Windsor a few times, so I thought I would give its kiosk style sister establishment on the rail bridge opposite Elsternwick Station, a try,. There are a limited number of tables inside, but there are a few more tables outside in an enclosed seating area. There is a two-sided picture menu which helps in making a selection. There were three of us, and we shared char-grilled chicken, and chilli soft shell crab rice paper rolls, and Hanoi style spring rolls. For mains we had char-grilled chicken vermicelli salad, spicy beef brisket pho and pork belly banh mi. The food was quick, modern, fresh and delicious. Highly recommended for a quick and healthy lunch. Total came to $33 each with a couple of beers thrown in
Decided to visit this place after a good experience at the Richmond store. I was equally as impressed. I ordered the veg spring rolls and pumpkin yellow curry w/ eggplant. The curry was a bit too spicy for me but still enjoyable.
Tiny little place always buzzing with crowd, Hanoi Hannah is known for Vietnamese style street-food.
They are known for the rolls but we also loved their one-bowl meals. Northern Style Chicken Curry, Grilled Fish on Turmeric and Hanoi Spring Rolls is what we ordered and Grilled Fish and Hanoi Spring (Pork meat, if our memory serves us well) rolls were the clear winners. Beautifully flavored and cooked. Northern Style Chicken curry was not bad, but wasn't great either.
Staff and service is fun and excellent. Value for money for sure.
I usually don’t enjoy Vietnamese but honestly this was DELICIOUS. The food was fantastic especially the prawn spring roll and the sliders. The whole family went and the vibe that the restaurant gives is so fun and trendy, and the music was popping !
We are regulars at Hanoi Hannah and always have a great meal. Staff are friendly, food is flavoursome and prices are good. Great addition to Elsternwick!
Finally got to try Hanoi Hannah and it didn't disappoint. Fresh, delicious Vietnamese food with friendly service. The vermicelli bowls were beautiful! Would have given 5 stars if not for the beers. $10 a beer is a lot .
Had the chicken curry, prawn spring rolls, Vietnamese salad and the pork belly sliders. The chicken curry was yummy. However, defiantly order another rice with it because it's a very small serving. The prawn spring rolls were alright, they were so small - if they were a bit bigger or cheaper it would be worth the money. The Vietnamese salad was so yummy and was a great serving size. Lastly, the pork belly sliders were so good, would 100% order again. Overall, it is a bit pricey for the amount of food you get. However, the food is very enjoyable.
What a great little place with great food. We had the selection on the best dishes that was included at one price. Not to mention the friendly staff and a cool cosy vibe. Thank you !
Not sure why the low rating here, the food is outstanding! Service may lack a little, but that is only because they are busy and they are busy because they are good! The wait is worth it if there is a line when you get there.
I have no idea what the bad reviews are on about! The spring roll vermicelli salad is amazing and so are the rolls. The music is always great and the staff are always fun. I can't understand the bad reviews at all!
Really enjoyable. Mushroom pho was great, so were spring rolls and sliders. Pricier than Footscray or Richmond or Springvale, but I don't think they're trying to match that. Nice food and atmosphere. It feels young and cool, but accessible and easy too.
I was craving Pho and found the nearest place at the time to get it. Hanoi Hannah was it...
My partner had the beef Pho and I had the XO pho. Mine was great! Really good flavours although I would called the pork “crispy”, yummy all the same.
My partner said she enjoyed hers too. I had a taste, a little colder than mine, but she was happy.
We sat out in the sun on a Sunday afternoon. It was a good lunch :)
XO pho all the way for my choice.
This place is great and I prefer it to the Prahran Hanoi Hannah, it just feels more chill, food is delish and the service is warm, friendly and efficient, only neg and reason for me writing review is the overuse of straws. We had like two straws per drink plus ones stuck on the side, cute but not needed. So yeah please ditch the straws, thanks friends and see you again soon.
Busy restaurant, good service, great food. Rice paper rolls are a stand out, especially when the weather is Melbourne hot. Great wine list and love pavement dining. Love this place!
Very difficult to get the attention of staff, or maybe I’m just not noticeable. Had the chicken curry which was very nice, chicken salad was pretty bland and the pork sliders we just ok. Probably won’t be back.
There's nothing wrong with pricier Asian food. Especially when folks don't have qualms over paying $25+ in Italian restaurants for cheese pizza with a piece of parsley on top. However, all is wrong when you come into a restaurant, order a few dishes, and then the cadaan waiter becomes visibly and verbally upset you're not ordering much. Last time I checked, not ordering a lot isn't wrong. Especially since my friends and I wanted to try a few things out first before delving further. The food ordered was quite nice, but that waiter left us with a sour experience.
Love hannoi hannah! The staff are super polite and the food always comes out super fast! I personally love the XO pho it is so delicious! I always used to get the normal beef pho which is also super yum however the XO is just SO good I was so surprised when I tried it! It’s a complete flavour bomb in your mouth! Especially when you add siracha! I do find though sometimes the noodles in the XO can be a little bit under cooked and I find the prahan hannoi Hannah sometimes cooks it better! However still so delicious !
Great restaurant. Popular and lots of choices. This is a wrk run sister restaurant of the Prahran establishment. I enjoyed the Mushroom Pho / vegetarian version with fluent free noodles. I also couldn't help myself and had the tuna rice paper rolls.
I think this is authentic Asian food and worth trying either in the restaurant or Deliveroo not Uber eats.
A good meal which is consistent and "fun" food. Keep up good work.
Hanoi Hannah
Great food here for a good price!
I usually get the Tender beef pho or the vegetarian vermicelli noodle salad.
My only issue is the service isn't always top quality- having to wait to get someone's attention then having to wait another 15 minutes for a table...
But apart from that, Food is delicious and great vibes!
Thanks, Ice Cream of Melbourne🍦x
Don't understand the bad ratings! I order from HH every week and it's always great. The pho are delicious! Service is fast and friendly. Will keep coming :)
Ordered through ubereats, we got the rare beef viet salad and chicken vermercelli salad. Loved the ingredients in both dishes, the rare beef salad was the best. They gave us one container of dressing, two would have better.
I've read other reviews and mostly the negative ones are about bad customer service which i can't comment on.
Will recommend this place to others.
Had a lovely lunch at Hanoi Hannah. We tried the soft shell crab rice paper rolls which were delicious! The XO Pho with Pork and Prawn was really yummy and perfect on a cool day sitting outside. The squid was also great, a big serve for a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend 👍
I actually don't mind the food here, maybe cause I never been to Windsor one, as so many told me there is better. Had the beef salad, good value, quick lunch, it is street quick eat, pretty standard.
Good stuff guys. Reliable well and well priced. Great atmosphere and customer service was alright with me. Definitely don't deserve a 2.3 rating so hopefully this will jack it up a bit. Thanks for the good food
Ordered take in and pick up.
vermicelli crispy tofu
Yellow fin tuna
Food was very satisfying nice and light meal. Delivery is available. Meal was a little expensive.
Even though quiet overpriced for a Vietnamese restaurant, their Pho is not disappointing. Unfortunately the waitress that has taken our order forgot to put the order through so we have been waiting for around 45 minutes for our pho to come.
All in all a nice place to go for a casual dinner during the week.
I have got no idea why this Hannoi Hannah outlet has such poor reviews compared to the Windsor one! I have been to both several times and they have been equivalent in my opinion. As always, I recommend the beef pho and Hanoi style spring rolls for a quick, cheap and fuss free bite to eat. Similar to the Windsor space it is not really good for groups and is small, though lots of the seating here is outside with heaters so I'm not sure what's going to happen in the winter months but hopefully those heaters do the trick (take a jacket just in case!).
This place is always packed. Amazing atmosphere and easy Vietnamese food. Had the tender beef pho and was pleasantly surprised. Only critiques is the price, slightly more on the expensive side. But all in all good place.
Great place to visit on a summer night. I highly recommend eating here pre/post movie. It's much better than the terrible After The Tears restaurant across the road.
Great food. Have had some lovely chats with staff! The waiting system can be annoying, but I get it, I work in hospo too (otherwise bookings could go on for weeks). I feel like they do the best they can with the space they have :)
I had the tofu/mushroom (vege) rice papier rolls and the pho (chick flavour) from this outlet of the amazing Hanoi Hannah franchise recently .
In fact I liked it so much I ordered something quite similar from the Windsor outlet on Deliveroo the night after. (This all unfolded a couple of nights ago)
The pho just has one of the best consistencies of pho I've tasted on the Sth Side (I think other places In Melb have a better pho business and more competition/higher standards but there doesn't seem to be much pho in the Inner South) . I am confident this pho would stand up to some of Melbourne's best too, especially considering how well it delivers.
The atmosphere of Elsternwick resto is incredible too, vibrant ...
Kick back and enjoy
i've only had takeaway so far but will definitely be in to elsternwick very soon. awesome chicken pho and amazing spring rolls. keep up the good work. ;)
Hanoi Hannah is a new branch right at Elsternwick station. Its busy and bustling, especially on warm days. Had the XO pho with roast pork and prawns.
not your standard pho bo/ga/ca but quite nice. Nice slow chill burn, after adding the chili sauce (Ot Tuong), which is on each table
A little bit pricier than most viet places, but this is Elsternwick.
Happy to go back.
We're pretty short on authentic Asian food on this side of the Yarra, so we get pretty excited with whatever we're offered. Accordingly, this place is heaving despite the migraine-inducing music and average value on offer.
Hanoi Hannah is not amazing, but not terrible. If you're used to the generous servings of spring rolls accompanied by bunches of herbs for $5 on Victoria St, you're going to be disappointed. If you're happy just to find a Vietnamese salad with good flavour balance and a bit of heat, you'll enjoy it. I'd go back, but only because it's around the corner.
Yummy, flavoursome pho broth with delicate noodles.
I can highly recommend the rice paper rolls too!
Loving the fast vibes of this place, with a great sunny spot in Elsternwick shops. Thanks to the staff for making me addicted to the food here!

We had a great meal, 4 people, fast service. Staff knew food really well. Good description by service staff as it was our first visit at this new location. Food was around Vietnamese cuisine but innovative and well thought thru as to modern ideas.
Order was delivered in a timely way. Good customer service when we ordered mineral water and the manager herself came over to apologise that the shipment had not arrived that day. She offered a free drink on the house.
A touch of hip'ness in layout adds to adventure :) To quote one of our party "a lovely dining experience".
We had our wedding anniversary dinner here. It was an amazing experience that is totally worth the rare 5th star.
We had the "vegan all in" that was a delicious 3 course meal.
Amazing starters of "prawn" crackers, with peanut satay to die for, spring rolls and pickled veg. Delicious.
Then eggplant / aubergine tacos: the texture was amazing with a deep fried taco made from something (not corn) that I can't remember sorry.
A delicious yellow curry, Thai style, was the main with some rice and a refreshing pickled veg salad (different to the starter)
The final cacao mouse had these delicious crunchy bits of yumminess it made it amazing.
Service was great too, they really looked after us, and made sure our choices were aligned with our vegan values :)
Very good experience eating here. Good service and delicious food! Hope you get better in new year🥰
This was an easy five star review. They nailed the service, food and atmosphere. I ordered the chicken ribs and duck. The ribs were very yummy but the duck was off the chart. Easily the best duck I’ve ever eaten. Congratulations and thanks!
Their lunch is amazing! Really loved the spring rolls and rolls!
Had an amazing dinner here, Isabel was the best waitress ever we loved her. Even got a complimentary birthday dessert.
Def coming back
