My favourite japanese restaurant in elsternwick and its always use fresh ingredients. My favourite dish is kakuni udon and also the chips are so yummy...

We ordered the pork katsu curry don with rice. The sauce came separately so the pork stayed really crispy. Nothing to complain about and delivery was quick.

#VEGAN FRIENDLY# Tempura Japanese Cafe is right at the end of The main part of Glenhuntly road (opposite Caltex Station). It’s been around for years but this is the first time we’ve tried it. The venue and staff are very welcoming. The menus clearly show what is vegan and there is a good range from every menu area. Bento Box was well priced and had a choice of brown or white rice. It came with a miso soup which had a really nice mushroom flavour. The tempura veggies udon soup was hearty, very flavourful. complimentary green tea. Eftpos available. No surcharge. Meal took 10 mins to be cooked (fresh) and served to our table.

So tasty! The chicken had a crispy crumb and the rice was cooked to perfection, the katsu curry sauce had good flavour and thickness. Dumplings were tasty. The chicken fried rice is one of the best fried rice I’ve had locally! Will order takeaway or come here again!

Excellent food - always super fresh and delicious. The rice is sticky, the chicken tender, the miso divine.  They deliver in a heartbeat and are always friendly. 10/10 for Japanese food, delivery or eat in. I cannot rate this place highly enough.

Been twice, excellent both times! Good lunch specials and just had beef teriyaki bento box, I highly recommend this place. Very well priced, excellent food, great service in a nice relaxing informal atmosphere

Fresh, tasty and great value for money. Any of the don bowls (I.e. With teriyaki beef or chicken Katsu are delicious and you get a big serving size for a good price. My go-to Japanese in the elsternwick area.

Had a delivery from here tonight. Very friendly and obliging service. The food was fresh and tasty. The tempura veggies were still crispy even though they were delivered . I thought they may have been soggy by the time they came but they weren't. The dipping sauce was very yummy too. The chicken dish was also very fresh and had great flavour. The rice had egg and other tasty morsels in it. Will definitely use the delivery service again.

Serving size is generous. Like that the fish and veg portion are larger than the rice on a bento set. Food are cook to order, hence a bit of waiting time but the food are out fresh and hot

Delicious bento, from our favourite Japanese cafe. We drive from the other side of the city to come here, and have been coming back for years. Good price. Good service. Good food!

Good place to have a quick eat. I have been coming here for a couple of years now and it has always makes good, consistant meals. The sizes of the dishes are good and they taste nice too. Compared to a lot of the other Japanese places around here it's very good value for money. Not as good as Tataki up the road but half the price and a less formal atmosphere. Way better than Momoko too. Never had take away here so can't comment on that. It's my go-to place for an easy, local Japanese dinner. Will continue to eat here
