A wide range of options in main meals, fresh food presented well. Friendly helpful staff. Nice atmosphere with a broad range of drinks. Well presented and a worthy addition to the Engadine night life.
Had dinner at Tejano Cantina tonight and for someone that loves a mexican feast I was a little disappointed in the food. Heaps of vegetarian options which was great but unfortunately the flavour just didn't hit the mark. I would have just expected the food to be a little fresher and a bit more refined. But I will still happily give them 4 stars as the atmosphere was great, so colourful and happy, the menu was amazing and well thought out, and for only opening a month ago, they are doing great. And when paying at the counter, I told the girl that I wasn't super happy about the food, she was so lovely and happy to hear the feedback. I will return for sure to this restaurant, might just have to try some different meals :)
Had a lovely family birthday dinner here tonight, we started with two dips and the poppers, the dips were very liquid and not my cup of tea but that's the only thing I didn't enjoy. The poppers were delicious and spicy. Mains I shared the tamarind wings and a ceaser and both were delicious . Everyone else really enjoyed their mains. Prices are reasonable and service was friendly and attentive.

Ate in just recently, and can say that overall the experience was good, and I was happy with what I received. I'll go into the good points before I talk about what caused me to drop a star.
Between our group we ordered nachos, the southern fried chicken burger and two sets of three tacos. All were reasonably priced, of good quantity, and very tasty. We did not have to wait long to receive our food after ordering.
The atmosphere was comfortable, with pleasant background music and a well lit interior. The tables were well spaced apart, as well as being clean and tidy.
When we arrived, there were no staff in sight. It was a Friday night, and the restaurant was fairly busy, so a short wait to at least be spoken to is not unexpected. We instead waited 2-3 minutes without seeing a single staff member, standing next to an unattended counter.
When we were greeted by a staff member, we were seated fairly quickly due to our prior booking, yet there some confusion about which table was actually booked. It happens, so I figured no big deal.
On being seated, we were offered some small starters, which we happily accepted, and arrived promptly (the guacamole was delicious). We then proceeded to be served by three different staff members, all asking us if we had ordered yet. None of the staff were professionally dressed, and the only way we could tell they were servers at all is because they approached us. When our orders arrived, the two sets of three tacos had been mixed up, despite each person having clearly ordered which tacos they wanted.
In summary, I had the impression of a restaurant with a great kitchen but poor organisation of service. The food was excellent in taste and value. The wait staff seemed confused, were not able to adequately keep track of tables and their orders, and could have easily been mistaken for one of the diners.
I'd be happy to go again for the food, but the quality of service is what caused me to only give four stars. They've definitely got something special here, but a bit of extra training for their servers is needed to make Tejano truly great. When I see this change, I'll happily add another star.
