Although some of the dishes were too salty for my liking , I think the food generally is pretty good. They incorporated a lot of asian ingredients and experimented with different asian dressings and sauces which I love, and the service was great. It’s not a great romantic spot for date though unless you like it loud but it’s great to have a great group outing and work your way through their cocktails menu.
Headed to Queen Chow for a quick feed. Ordered the dim sum platter, peking duck pancakes and the fried rice along side verve. We started with the dumpling platter which came with 8 pcs. 2 sui mai, 2 prawn hargrow, 2 spinach dumplings and 2 mushroom dumplings. The spinach dumpling wasnt great but it wasnt horrible. The other three were very tasty. Next came the peking duck pancakes. The pancakes came with a very large amount of duck(could have used some more pancakes)and cucumber and sauce as filings. They were very nice too :D by this time we were full up on veurve, dim sum and peking duck pancakes and didnt need the fried rice so we arranged to get it to go. Very filling meal - will be back! Bar upstairs and interesting design. Positive: TASTY!, Service, Serving sizes, Location & AmbienceNegative: Bit Exxy
6 peice fried dim sum wasn’t reLly dim sum but was tasty.
Funny place. Awkward stairs up above a busy pub, busy bar protruding in front of an awkward covered beer garden of yore. Seating at awkward angles, creating space for waiter thoroughfares. Odd.
Attentive waiter was always at hand.
Numbing chicken dry, with carcasses of Szechuan peppercorns strewn amongst a plate without sauce. Wagyu san Choi bow tasty and tender. Duck pancakes ok, but duck skin not crisp and subcutaneous fat abundant - undercooked.
Maître’d all a bit intense - very eager to proffer more drinks.
Good for Enmore, but not all that good.
Interesting concept...pub meets Asian cuisine. Great vibes especially downstairs if you are after a few beers but for serious dining try upstairs. The food itself is not that awesome, except for the roast meats. Don't get me wrong. It's better than 90 percent of the places that purport to serve Chinese but I have come to expect better from Merivale. Still its worth a try if only to experience the quirkiness of it all.
We had a really great experience at Queen Chow. We didn’t have a booking however there were plenty of tables in the bar both upstairs and downstairs (we sat upstairs). Love the transformation of this pub which used to be my local between 2000 and 2006, not the dodgy dive it was then that is for sure. We had the Hiramasa Kingfish sashimi, steamed dim sum platter, and half roast duck, all fantastic. The cocktails were phenom! I wish we didn’t drive so we could have hung around for Merivale’s 49% off all drinks in June deal. We will definitely return. Sooner rather than later.
Great ambience and a surprisingly diverse cocktail list (although some are rather experimental). For vegans and vegetarians, the salt and pepper tofu was fabulous.
I love that there is a Merivale restaurant in the hood. It’s Chinese food meets the local pub and it works. I loved the quirkiness of the fitout as much as I loved the food. The Peking Duck is darn awesome. #queenchow #pekingduck
Happy Valentines! We had an early celebration at Queen Chow in Enmore. For entree we had the wagyu beef and black bean sang Choi bao which was really yummy! The oven baked bbq pork puffs were nice too albeit a bit too buttery for my taste.
For mains we had the pippies with XO sauce and fried bread and a stir fried Shanghai noodles with shredded duck and kai lan. Finished with a long forgotten but used to be a favorite dessert, fried ice cream! The one here is huge!
Perfect place to dine if you have a show at the Enmore. Service was really quick and the dumplings were scrumptious. There’s a limited menu downstairs where we sat but just as delicious. . Queen Chow steamed dim sum platter $32. See this in the app
This neighborhood gem is a must try. They have the best black angus beef dish. My favorite Chinese beef dish anywhere. The dumplings are good and the bbq pork buns are sweet and juicy! One of my regular Sunday evening spots.
Love how they combine western and eastern internal design together in this Queen’s Hotel. Dim sum are surprisingly very tasty ( since I’m Cantonese, I have high dim sum standard). Must try their Black Pepper Wagyu beef and Honey BBQ Pork. They also have a long list of alcohol choices. But they don’t have any coffee or Hong Kong Milk tea.
Absolutely love this place, the food is amazing, the wait staff are friendly and the ambiance is a cooled, chilled vibe!
We have a been several time and each time is top notch.
Merivale just keeps on opening winners. This one – Queen Chow. I hadn’t had time to research this place before I went so all I knew (or assumed from the name) is that it was going to be Chinese food. I was pleasantly surprised to find a rather quirky Chinese meets Aussie pub where east meets west – something I can certainly relate to!
If I keep on writing that Sydney’s restaurants are surprising me, it’s a good sign that 1/ I’m not becoming a tired, old jaded thing (at least I think I’m not) and 2/ Sydney’s restaurants are constantly offering something new. While modern Asian food ain’t new, and upscale food served in a pub isn’t new, I found it a pleasant novelty to be in Enmore, greeted and served by a mixture of hipsters and Asian staff, serving up fine Asian food in a light, airy, contemporary rooftop space.
A light and beautiful, airy glasshouse garden rooftop space, with lift access.
Every dish was PERFECT today!
Strawberry and Tomato Mocktail
Wild mushroom dumpling
Scallop and prawn siu mai
Roast duck cheung fun
Crispy skin chicken
Typhoon shelter Moreton Bay bugs
Two forgotten koi fish in a frozen pond
(...raspberry sorbet, jelly, crumbles, candied macadamia nut and meringue...)
Do you speak Mandarin?
(...mandarin ice, coconut, jellies...)

My new favourite bar!
Always welcoming, great service, great bar food and great cocktails.
Head upstairs to be seated in lavish surroundings. Top things to order from their bar menu will have to be the Chonq Qing (Spicy Chicken Wings) and the Crab Crackers. ✌@foodiesguidetosydney

🍽️Steamed Dim Sum Platter🍽️
I often find the food from an Asian restaurant that's cooked by non-asian to be too westernised, they usually just look like asian food instead of tasting like one. But boy are these some amazing dim sum. The wild mushroom and English spinach dumplings were just exquisite! To be fair though, the prawn hao gao and scallop and prawn shumai were just average, I believe you can buy the same thing from an Asian supermarket.
🍚Queen Chow Fried Rice🍚
Tasty, but average is all I can say. The fried rice had cuttlefish, char siu and sweet corn in it. Certainly overpriced for a fried rice.
🍽️ Chinese Brocoli🍽️
With shitake mushroom and bean curd. Same again, you can get the same dish at a much cheaper Chinese restaurant.
🍽️Chow Mein🍽️
Man, this is some expensive chow mein, but really palatable. All the flavours just hit the right spot.
🍎Queen Chow Fruit Plate 🍎
Um...they cut it nice and even? Lol seriously, I don't even know why my friend ordered this.
🍰 The Forgotten Koi Fish In The Frozen Pond🍰
My favourite dish of the day, I mean, the name is just so poetic. Koi fish jelly hidden under the raspberry sorbet, perfect for summer, yum!
✏️Note: The interior design is really elegant, they also have two eclectic bars on site (The smelly goat and zebra bar)
My new favorite Chinese ! Have been at least 5 times now and really love it ! Duck spring rolls and the prawn calamari salt pepper are delicious. Dumplings good too - recommended !
Queen Chow has some of the best (albeit pricey) dumplings I've ever had. Jam packed with goodness and silky smooth, I'd recommend these bad boys as a starter. We followed the dumplings with a half duck, steamed rice, garlic chives and a whole mud crab - which was delightfully messy and ridiculously delicious.
Service was a little inconsistent, with one absolute hospo legend taking care of us alongside a not-so-attentive waiter who we had to follow up several times for initial table water.
Awesome space, cool clean tones and a leafy ceiling made for a lovely calm ambience and the two upstairs bars meant quick cocktail turn around.
Great spot for a relaxed dinner with family and friends.
Want to experience Hong Kong street food without making a trip to Hong Kong? Queen Chow is the place for you! Chefs Patrick Friesen and Christopher Hogarth make regular trips to Hong Kong to absorb the essence and spirit of Hong Kong street food. They bring locally inspired dishes to our tables in Oueen’s Hotel in Enmore.

Another Merivale creation and as per the norm, a well presented carefully thought out establishment. The service was very good attending promptly to all our requests. The food as usual was fantastic with the dumplings really coming with huge flavoring.
I'll definitely be back
Queen Chow Enmore provides an outstanding Chinese dining experience. The Merivale team have created an enchanting venue with no expenses spared. Walking through the hotel is visually delightful with each different room adorned by unique exotic decor. We ordered and shared the delicious banquet which was well paced by the friendly staff - there’s no rushing guests out for a second seating and we were able to enjoy our dining experience at our own pace. The DJ played cool funky music creating a chilled vibe while we sat back chatting and sipping on great cocktails! Thank you 🙏
I booked a table for dinner yesterday night and Maya was our waitress. She got as a drink and a few really good recommendations always at time and with a smile on her face. Food was amazing, her service was even better. Keep going what you are doing and you'll get high! Thanks for making our experience so incredible.
Also I wanna thank the chef's for the Amazing food and Jack for the drinks, it was good to see you again.

We went for NYE and picked the set menu and it was delicious! We got dumplings, king fish sashimi, scallops, soft shell crab, duck pancakes and more! Service was beautiful and venue is unique. Really feels like a hidden gem. Would definitely go back and would recommend!
We dined for lunch and had a great time. Pork buns are good, dumplings are fresh and tasty. The kung pao chicken was hot and spicy and the duck noodles was really nice too. Fried ice cream was my favourite.
The staff are very friendly and the service is fast and efficient.
Cool vibe and decor. Delicious food. Friendly service. Food is Cantonese cuisine with a fusion twist. Recommend the burrata, salt and Pepper cauliflower, prawn toast, deep fried pork buns (wow), coconut dessert. Cocktails are also fantastic
On the pricier side (as most merivale venues are) but you get what you pay for - overall a good experience and place to hang out with friends
Totally worth the trek through the torrential rain for some delicious food. Everything was super tasty and beautifully presented and needless to say the atmosphere was splendid (I've never seen such huge fiddle leaf fogs, amazing!).
Must try: prawn toast, burratta and black pepper Wagyu beef
The dumplings are heavenly, it is one of those places that you know no matter what you order you won't be disappointed. Highly recommend the prawn toast, pork hock and fried rice!
