Delicious desserts which really hit ghe sweet spot.
Tiramisu đ: I liked how it had dimension with the bitterness of the coffee and sweetness from chocolate and crunch from macadamia nuts.
Mini Cake Izzy đ: Unfortunately we couldn't taste the pandan but overall tasted good. It would have been better to have more salted caramel to balance to sweetness of whole cake.
9/10
1) Upside Down Rhubarb Cake - A butter cake moist from a sweet syrup and a little tart from the rhubarb
2) Cherry & Coconut Galette - The outer crust is really unique, almost hardened from a caramelised glaze and the sugar crust, definite try
3) Salted Honey Tart - My favourite of the purchases, hint of ginger in the filling to take away from the sweetness and the outer crust was flakey but not crumbly, amazing
4) Ham & cheese Snail - The flavour was similar to a ham and cheese roll from bakers delight but the scroll itself was like a quality croissant
5) Fennel, capers foccacia - Not quite a typical foccacia, more like a deep pan pizza without cheese but unique topping combos
Weâve heard about this place plenty of times and Iâm unsure why it took us so long to visit. Though itâs probably for good reason, for weâd otherwise be the size of a house. The food here is incredible and those pastries are so so good, we could probably devour everything in store.
It was a happy day for sweet toothâs and fans of Andy Bowdyâs stunning cake creations when he opened Saga in Enmore. How wonderful to be able to indulge in one of his signature cakes in mini-size, like Izzy or Hendra. We actually picked up Karl, a dark and decadent chocolate fudge cake with salted caramel, chocolate mousse, chocolate cookie crumb, roasted peanuts, and torched meringue. Itâs guaranteed to satisfy any chocolate craving with just one bite. The cafe/patisserie also does savoury food and range of pastries and other sweet bites.
An unassuming shop front that leads into an Oasis of deliciousness & prettiness. Walking inside the long corridor, the savoury smells are so tempting. Then the temptation is taken over by your eyes as they lay on the huge range of beautiful, delectable looking cakes & pastries. There are the named, tall cakes (Izzy and Hendra were both delicious) then there are the familiar cakes but with Saga's own spin which takes them to be extraordinary like the Vanilla slice with passionfruit jelly & cream or the slightly boozy, very caramelised bread & butter pudding. There is a standing area near where you pay & its like.a bar but for caffeine instead of alcohol. Speaking of which the coffee was excellent & using Artificer. Staff are friendly & helpful.
I haven't actually been there, but it has been on my radar for a while, for both the incredible pastries, but also, their signature cakes. Now, cakes aren't normally something I go for, but these ... these are special. More on that soon. Saga is relatively new, opened only in 2017, by the pastry chef, Andy Bowden (Bowdy), and his partner, Maddison, after he left his famed post at Hartsyard, which is when I first heard of him.
Have been wanting to try this place for a while, so was happy to get a table. All of the cakes looked beautiful, so it was hard to only just choose one. My favourite was the vanilla slice with passionfruit. I also tried all of the 'tall' cakes plus the choux bun. There were lots of other fresh pastries that I'll have to try another time. This venue also serves light meals as well if you want something savoury. Coffees and drinks were good. Overall service staff were friendly and the cakes were reasonably priced, so will definelty be back!
Great to have this in my hood. Tasty brunch foods, good coffee, friendly staff and they have a wide selection of freshly made pastries and cakes to takeaway if youâre too full from brekkie. We took away some sticky buns and they were deliciously sticky! #breakfastrice #meatballs #brunchinsydney
CAKE: Chocolate Fudge Cake, Milo Mousse, Malteasers, Chocolate Fudge Drizzle, Torched Meringue
This cake would have to be the most fanciest I have ever had. My friend had this for her 30th Birthday and it was very tasty. I think it could have been better with less malteasers. But it was still a very tasty cake!
Amazing cake. Ordered really last minute and they managed to squeeze me. Filled out an order from online and it said they'd get back to me. As it was such a rush order, it was such a breeze. Made payment over the phone. Realised I needed delivery, they couldn't courier it over for me and recommended a courier to use. Booked the courier on the same day and got my cake at the location of celebration. Thanks Sagra. You are amazing for cakes and service!
Cake is like not other cake I've had before. Ordered a carrot cake. Very moist yet dense and the topping on the cake suited it very well.
Cake is huge. It can definitely feed double of what the suggestion is on the website. Had lots left over.
Saga sandwiches are serious business. They are on the pricier side at $17-18 however they stack them with ingredients so I don't mind paying the premium. I tried the chicken schnitzel which was a whole breast, really well cooked and a tasty melted cheese on top. The spicy salami toastie was also really good, it had honey drizzled over the top which made it really sticky and I'm not a fan of sweet sandwiches. I will probably get no honey next time.
I don't give 5 stars often but this place is amazing!! I had an eggplant parmi roll for lunch. Absolutely delicious, robust and full of flavour. My friend bought me 2 desserts to take away, banana cream pie andthe Cherry ripe one. The banana cream pie is pretty much my perfect dessert. I'm usually more of a savoury person but I'm in love with this dessert. The Cherry ripe is so flavoursome too. I had it with whipped cream. I never knew desserts could be this could. Highly recommend checking this place out!!!
Such a lovely and cosy cafe. Thereâre many varieties of desserts and pastries to choose from. I had a date with âTonyâ - cocoa nib cake, milk crumb and raspberry mousse :-) Will definitely come back to try more desserts. Highly recommended.
cakes were fine, but customer service need to improve. The young lady served me looked quite âunhappyâ on the day.
Amazing custard tart.
Really good bread on the sandwiches.
Canât wait to try more things.
Recycled packaging for take away.
Good job!
