We live the seafood and chicken combination laksa. It's not on the menu (that I have seen) but they will make it for you if you ask. Their take away service is super fast.
Great Laksa, great food, feels like a home made food, very cosy very homie, would highly recommend....
We frequent this great little local gem for authentic Malaysian food. I think they have one of the best Assam Laksa in Sydney. Perfect balance of sweet and tangy and just the right amount of fish. Too bad they only have it as a weekend special.
Laksa and bak Kurt teh (weekend special ) is unbeatably delicious . Pork roll is my favorite too. Big portion , great value. Lovely family run restaurant .
Love their Laksa, we ordered their chicken laksa and that was amazingly good, pack with lots of flavour, big portion and decent price. Char Kaw Teoy and Lobak were okay.
Really good laksa and their fried dishes also have lots of “wok hei”, a really smoky aroma, that is unique to wok fried dishes. Recommend you try the fried rice or a fried noodle dish to get the full effect.
It’s a small family run place with friendly service.
Parking can be quite difficult though

Never tried lobak? It’s a dish much loved in Penang, and central to any celebration or festival by Straits Chinese. These Malaysian five spice rolls ($6) combine tenderised pork mince with the crunch of water chestnuts, all wrapped up in a beancurd sheet and deep fried to a crisp. They’re one of the house specialties at Penang Cuisine, easily missed in its hidden corner within a modest commercial complex in Epping. And yet this compact 30-seater has a non-stop flow of students, families and couples huddled over steaming bowls of curry laksa, digging into plates of mee goreng fried noodles or squabbling over the last satay chicken skewer.
Thanks to my friend who took me to this hidden treasure in the Genesis building in Epping. Their laksa is delicious! Faire price, big portion and jam packed with lots of flavours! The shop is super busy, so better come in earlier than standing in the queue to wait later.
Great hearty dishes 😙 The nasi goreng was massive, way more than normal which was good to see. It did feel a bit heavy/buttery though so would be hard to finish. They only had meat spring rolls on the menu but the lady, who I presume is the owner, was more than happy to give us vegetarian ones. They were nice but one was quite soggy which was a tad off putting. The real star here has to be the curry laksa. It was delicious. I don't know much about authenticity when it comes to laksa, but either way it had a tasty soup with an abundance of veggies, perhaps could have done with more noodles though 😛, but that's just cause it was tasty and I wanted more!
Quite authentic Malaysian food as my Malaysian friends exclaimed the veggie curry laksa and bak kut teh are the nicest so far they have eaten in Sydney. The Fried Kueh Teow is superb as long as you do not compare to Penang Char Kueh Teow. The kueh teow is fried enough with wok charred smell. The mee goreng smells nice but the taste is not quite there. Overall we are still happy with the food and service here.
I've been here a few times for their Malaysian cuisine - half of the menu items are spicy so not many options for those that can't stand hot food. Their laksas and har mee are good but their (non-spicy) fried rices are pretty similar.
The restaurant is rather small (max. 30) so be sure to come early or really late to avoid the crowds, especially when there is a large rowdy group, because the sound resonates/echoes within the room.
One of my favourite places to go for a laksa! I usually get the chicken one but opted for a seafood one this time round. It's quite a big portion with a decent serving of seafood with prawns, fish, seafood extenders, fish balls, squid (which isn't rubbery) and fried tofu which soaks up all the soup. You can have a choice of mixing the noodles - vermicelli and the egg noodle, but I prefer vermicelli only, the vermicelli is not soft and mushy, which is really good. Truly a hidden gem!
Hands down the best Authentic Malaysian Restaraunt i have been to, thank you so much to the owners the food is always amazing Especially the Laksas ! Highly recommend to visit this place.
DELICIOUS!! I could taste and feel the level of care the Chef took preparing and cook these dishes. Amongst the best in Sydney I've had.
We'll be back.. often!!
Curry laksa was creamy with the right amount of heat. Assam laksa (on special) had a great depth of umami and tangy-ness. Would highly recommend for those who like bolder flavours. Generous servings and lovely staff!
Six of us went for dinner last Saturday night and I have to say, the food is sensational! The service was great with the owner making us feel most welcome, even though we were the last to leave.
Both Malaysian and traditional Chinese cuisine options are on the menu. Its a shop style atmosphere, but that is part of the charm and really, who cares? Go there for the quality and flavour of the food! I will certainly be travelling back to eat there again.
Wished that I live nearer, whenever I'm at Epping, I'll drop by.
This weekend's special is NL which I make often enough so ordered mee goreng instead.
Every ingredient was cooked right. Smokiness from wok hei, tau geh still crunchy but doesn't taste raw, chicken is tender and well marinated (satay?), noodles is slightly al dante which gives a good bite, and prawns are plump.
All in all a very flavorful dish without a pool of oil on the plate after you finish.
Latest review:
Food still very nice and probably better than before. Laksa was good but missing sth I don't know what. The restaurant was crowded on a week night. But again, not cheap for a Malaysian dining.
Old review:
What I like about this place is that they're family-run business. Seems like every family member has their own role and they do their best to impress. Nice characteristic of this business. Although the store is slightly hidden away from the shops along the main road, people seem to be able to find their way to here. Hence it tells about their quality and how well they're building their business.
Ok food wise, not the best malay i've had. Their chicken rice was good and in a decent size but i found their laksa a bit blend. They have quite a wide range (from small dishes, entree, side dishes, mains to deserts) for the size of their kitchen, hence that's pretty impressive. We ordered stir fried water spinach as a side and it was great too.
Price-wise is decent for the area. Considering that there's not much Malaysian restaurants around this area, it's worth a visit. :)
Really authentic Malaysian cuisine! Had the Assam Laksa which was bursting with flavour and wonderfully delicious.
I haven’t tried their other dishes, but almost everyone and myself had a form of laksa so I believe this is the go to choice. Would recommend!
