Great place, delicious and fresh food, my favorite place with my kids. Me and my children always eat udon, shoyu ramen and salmon avo roll. Always fresh and delicious when I eat. Friendly staffs are good.
I’ve had great experiences at this restaurant - my personal favourites are the chicken & avocado roll, salmon nigiri & the miso soup (which is really flavoursome!). The prices are reasonable compared to other sushi restaurants & it is definitely my favourite in Epping.
We have been coming here a lot whenever we wanted jap food close to home. It’s decent, quite fresh and offers a wide variety.
Love their rolls, best one has to be the eel and the soft shell crab. All their. fried food isn’t overly greasy. Price is usually reasonable and food comes quick.

Favourite local sushi restaurant! Salmon avocado salad is delicious and the sushi boat is such good value for money. Staff are always friendly.

Came across this place quite by accident last year and have been visiting fairly regularly ever since.
Very fresh and expertly prepared sushi and sashimi, watching the sushi chef behind the counter, he obviously takes great care in what he is doing. The sushi here is on par with what you would find in the city and much better than your typical neighbourhood Japanese restaurant.
The hot food choices are typical of your suburban Japanese restaurant and don't disappoint. There are a few changes to some of the dishes, for example the teriyaki chicken dish has onions and capsicum; ingredients you normally wouldn't find in this dish.
The restaurant is small but clean and tidy, staff are friendly enough also. This has become our local restaurant when we're after a Japanese fix without venturing too far from home.
Ordered the salmon party platter which is for take away only. They say it's for 4 people but I would say 3 to be comfortably full. Still pretty good value for $50. And I satisfied my sushi craving for the week lol. Wish they had a platter with more variety though, as this only accommodates for salmon lovers. Sushi was not the best I've had but pretty decent for the price.
It's a tiny place so I don't mind taking away, plus the best thing about that is you can add your own touches at home i.e. udon. Saves a bit of money while giving you a well rounded experience, because I love having soup with my sushi. This could be miso soup too but I particularly like udon. But eating in would be fine too, as it is conveniently located right across from Epping station.

Neighbourhood gem. Chanced upon this restaurant the other night while craving some Japanese. The prices were really affordable for the amount and quality of food that we got. Everything was delicious and we left feeling very satisfied and full. The sashimi was cut thickly and was very fresh. All the portions of food we had been served were quite generous.
Service was polite and friendly, although the waitress didn't speak much English. Was so glad to have found another decent Japanese restaurant close to home, and will definitely be back.
You won't be disappointed with the amount of food you get with the $55 deluxe boat!! I wasn't.... Not a super high quality meal, but were not fussy eaters.
I really love the freshness and generosity of their food and servings in this Japanese restaurant. Too bad the place is just tiny and there’s always a long cue in here. It’s better to book it ahead if you plan to eat here.

If you are in need of a sashimi and sushi fix this is the place that will wow and amaze.
The proportion sizes will put Sokyo to shame as the cuts are generous beyond belief.
The sushi and sashimi here is top quality on par with some omakases. We got a seat by the bench and the chefs were preparing everything right in front of us.
Definitely go for the sashimi boat and the miso as you won't be disappointed. Very generous large serving of wasabi and ginger to help you tackle the sashimi boat.
Definitely coming back to this place for my Japanese fix. Do note its a one hour seating time only.
Best sashimi, sushi, rolls, noodle ever.. This was my third time to eat here, and all time was so great! And there are always lots of people inside of the restuarant, so make sure to book before you go here!
Consistently decent sushi at an okay price. They also serve sushi with higher end ingredients like ikura or uni.
Pretty fresh and tasty. Not a wide selection of fish and a little pricey at $53 for the deluxe combination platter
New 2022 update: this place still serve best sushi around the area. Services still very good and food quality still top notch.

This place serve the most fresh sushi in Sydney!
We come here all the time to have sushi, their sushi are cut and put together when you order. Not like sushi trains out there. These guys are also serious about their sushi. We always find their fish very fresh.
We also like their cold soba and teriyaki chicken or teriyaki fish here.
The service is excellent, the owner recognise us already and always give us a very welcome smile and make sure we are looked after.
This place is not big and since the food is very nice, it tend to be full most nights. So booking is essential.
Highly recommended.
I don't come here often but when I do, the sashimi is always fresh. They consistently provide great food. It can get busy in the evening so recommend booking in advance.
