North & Eight is a wonderful warm and inviting place to have a coffee or a meal. The staff are very polite, attentive & the service is spot on. Can't fault my experiences there. :D
We just popped in for some dessert and let me tell you, it was one of the best desserts i have had in years, took our breath away. Looking forward to going back for some brunch �
The coffee was creamy and smooth. My partner ordered the bacon and egg brioche which was great. As for me I didn’t know what to do expect for the Cubano sandwich - it was the bomb. Tbh was just curious to try it after watching Baker and the Beauty ;) The pulled pork was so tender accompanied by the flavour from the ham and Swiss cheese. Plus side the owner was really friendly too. Would definitely go back!
Nice cafe, feel relaxed when you’re in there. Had the Panna cotta and shakshuka. Really nice. And the chips are delishhhh

Another day in a new suburb from me - Essendon. We had breakfast at North & Eight which was convenient to our first appointment. It's a lovely open, bright and airy cafe that is spacious inside. There are a mixture of tables for groups, couples, singles and more. For breakfast Iordered the B&E McNorth which is a bacon, egg, cheese, hash brown, aioli & tomato jam burger on a brioche bun. My friend chose the north&eight breakfast which I have to say was absolutely enormous - did a great job to get through it.
Service was good and food was prepared within ten minutes of our order. $50 for brunch was well worth it.
If you're looking for something 'on the go' there is a great selection of coffee, cakes, slices and what I think were containers with muesli & yoghurt. I'll have to check this out next time.
I'm looking forward to discovering this place again, along with other restaurants and cafes in the area.
Note: North & Eight has indoor and outdoor seating, suitable for children, wheelchair accessible (including the toilets), baby change table in the ladies toilets. (large toilet space and quite nicely decorated). Parking in the area isn't too bad but read the signs carefully as it can be tricky.
Had the beetroot egg benedict and my friend had the pork belly burger. They were amazing and the pork belly was really well-cooked too. Lovely atmosphere, good for catch up with friends. Will come back again.

🥪 Grilled Cuban Sandwich 5/5 ⭐️
First bite and I fell in love with the sandwich. Layers and layers of ham sandwiched together crispy panini bread, loads of well marinated shredded pork and topped with heaps of cheese as well. Just amazing 😍
🍫 Kali Hot Chocolate 5/5 ⭐️
Amazingly presented - hot chocolate came in a little glass jug. It’s meant to be poured into the glass with marshmallows in it. Loved the richness of the chocolate.

Unfortunately North&Eight fell short on their service 🙁 I was served by a grumpy young lady on a Sunday morning. When I ordered, there was no smile at all. When I asked for ketchup, she just looked at me and walked away. She brought the ketchup over though.
Overall verdict ✅✅✅
Definitely recommend everyone to try North&Eight at least once. There’s a reason why they’re popular within the local crowd. They could improve on their service but other than that, it was a pleasant brunch experience! 👍🏻

We recently had a family brunch with five adults and a 2 month old baby. Service was excellent and we were not rushed.
Coffee is rich and well presented.
I had the coconut chia lemongrass panna cotta. Beautifully presented with a poached pear, nuts, seeds, granola and black sesame ice cream and coconut yoghurt. A great mix of flavours and healthy. Another had the crushed avocado with dukkha, feta, tahini and added bacon and poached egg. Perfectly cooked and presented. Another had the B&E McNorth which comprises poached egg, ham, cheese, hash brown in a brioche bun. Something different and fed the man’s big appetite.
My wife had the Okonomiyaki pancake with red cabbage, mushrooms, bonito flakes, Mayo, etc. As good as we have had in Japan.
Another had the zucchini, sweet corn and quinoa fritters with poached egg, lime salsa and avocado. Excellent.
The restaurant has a very interesting, diverse menu. Good also that with many of the dishes, there are add-ons because not everyone wants bacon, eggs, tomatoes, etc.
So with an interesting menu, excellent coffee and service, we shall return.

The fluffiest, cloud-like and most balanced pancakes I’ve had in Melbourne so far!
FOOD: I made a trip to North & Eight as finding a place that sells Souffle Pancakes isn’t very easy and after seeing these babies on Instagram, I knew by hook or by crook, I had to try them! I didn’t know they introduced a new version of the Souffle Pancakes so just to provide anyone with some knowledge, it now comes with lychee, lychee cream, berries and popping pearls! I asked for a side of cheeky maple syrup but honestly, you don’t need it. It’s so refreshing and all the flavours go so well together. You have the pancake being perfectly fluffy and soft with a very mild but amazing vanilla flavour, the lychee cream is not overly sweet but provides it with a perfect level of sweetness, the fruits give a tartness that leaves you with all the flavour’s you’d want and the popping pearls were a little surprise that you’d have in every few bites. I personally think this is one of the BEST pancake dishes I have ever had in my life. Everything about it was so balanced and it didn’t leave you feeling sick of it! SERVICE: The service is pleasant! The waitresses are friendly and are attentive and won’t hesitate with requests!
AMBIENCE: It was super popular and especially because I went on a weekend morning, it was even more packed but it’s such a chill and comfortable cafe!
If you’re ever in Essendon or you just want some pancakes, I’d highly recommend giving North & Eight a go! Their food spread is special and stands out from just regular cafe food and it’s an adorable place that definitely should be more popular!
Caught up with a friend for brunch here, had a hot chocolate, the north and eight breakfast. While my friend had a black coffee and shashuka. Great food and atmosphere, would pop by here again!

Amazing!!! First time we have been since the menu update. This is the first brunch place I’ve been to in so long where the portion sizes are actually generous servings. Will definitely be back very soon! Thanks guys for a lovely meal.
