Highly recommend. We visit regularly for the gemista (stuffed vegetables) and mixed dips. Absolutely delicious.
We had a mid-week, mid-winter dinner here this evening. The food was lovely- we started with the mixed dips and I especially liked the eggplant, because it was so chunky. For main, I had a scallop skewer and small Greek salad- which was delicious and i love the fact the scallops had their roes on (best part). Other had Greek salad with chicken and chicken souvlaki. It was nice and warm inside, but they do need to turn the music down as it's too loud.
The eggplant dip keeps me coming back for more. I think about this dip more than I'm proud to admit. Hot damn it is good stuff. Their other food is quite nice too. Great family restaurant, this place does get busy and noisy but its a good vibe.
The food was delicious (we enjoyed an array of entrees and appetisers) and the staff were friendly and helpful. We did find the large TVs distracting and probably unnecessary (who needs “Simpsons” when enjoying a beautiful meal and convival conversation). If the TVs are really necessary, maybe a slideshow photos of beautiful Greece?
Great Greek Fare at very reasonable prices. The serving sizes were perfect and not over the top which was perfect. The grilled mixed souvas were perfectly seasoned & tender , perfectly accompanied with a crisp cold mythos 🍺. Would definitely return to try more of their seafood dishes .
We had the Dias banquet ($36 pp), which was a tonne of food. Particularly enjoyed the appetisers, the meat (lamb & chicken) was ok.
Very attentive service. I understand the other reviews regarding the noise, but I think that's part of the atmosphere of a busy restaurant.
Overall good (not great) Greek food.
We visted last night having noticed how busy it is all the time and did the $40 banquet and were very impressed. Reading old reviews yes the restaurant gets noisy so it's not the place for a cosy catch up but the service and food make it well worth visiting. The banquet had beautiful char grilled calamari and the fish was delicious as was the chicken and lamb gyros, only suggestion is maybe a bit of bread and dip with the meat. Suggest you give it a try!
I've been here three times with significant gaps between visits, and I've always had a good dining experience at POL. Latest visit was 12/2. Had the banquet with seafood. Delicious, old school Greek food with very generous serves. I couldn't fault the food or the service.
Have been here a few times before and all visits have been very good. Went for dinner with three friends. Great and friendly service and order taken quickly. We has the banquet and the food came out very quickly and was fresh, plentiful and delicious. The bread soft and the dips very appetising. The saganaki was hard to fault and the calamari was perfect. The only negative was the chicken and lamb gyros came out as more of a mixed meal not separated on the platter which had me digging through the meal as I don't eat lamb. The Greek salad was amazing. The dessert platter was shared and was nice but not the best I've had. Always happy to go here for a meal and will definitely be back again and again.
Good food, great service and reasonably priced. Staff are welcoming and helpful as opposed to the other Greek restaurant 50 metres to the west.
