We saw the Platypus from the viewing platform next to the visitor information centre. Some of the walking trails are less frequented and have overgrown with shrubs. It was still worth the trip out to see the platypus.

We stayed at Broken River Camp Grounds, great location right next to the river, could easily see the platypus in the creek, good bush walks, kiosk serving coffee and cakes, ext, only 5 klm from town of Eungella
Was really cool to see Platypus in the wild, we really enjoyed our visit here, there's camping both sides of the river, we stayed at the Flat Ferns camping area up past the information centre and it had cool secluded camp sites with fire pits so bring your own wood!
Beautiful spot to walking in a tropical forest along the river. It is inhabited by turtles and platypus
Basic but quiet place and friendly volunteer staff. It's like the platypuses came out on queue! Two of them. It's early Aug. and we're told it was mating season. Maybe I've been lucky as I've only been here a few times over the years but this location always seems to deliver on the platypus viewing.
Average coffee, Terrible service!
Took the coffee's back and was argued with about how good the coffee was by the shop assistant/owner. Also tried the home made ice cream which was simply frozen, flavoured milk and they charged a premium for the pleasure. AVOID!!!
